Bought this for a trip to Seattle to go hiking, but we also have a baby on the way so I plan to use this to carry all the baby supplies with all the pockets and being lightweight. Perfect backpack.

I was looking for a teacher bag that would hold all of my items and my computer, that would travel well with me every day to and from school/work, and would still look cute! I found all that and more with this backpack. Perfect design, holds all my school and coaching items, and looks awesome. Everything I was looking for!

Carry-all for day trips, and carry-on for local and international travel. Used for camera bag, computer or iPad, chargers, meds, read/travel docs, change of clothes. No 'cons' found yet.

I use this backpack every day to commute to work. I always bring my laptop, gym clothes, lunch, etc and everything fits nicely. I love how deep the side pockets are and a great back support that I get. I never paid more than $40 for a backpack before but this was a great investment. I ordered a grey/white with light green straps on the cover and I like the look of it as well.

I love this bag! I take my laptop to and from work daily and the laptop sleeve is perfect for my thin laptop. I also bring gym clothes and a pair of tennis shoes with me daily and there's is plenty of room for these items without the bag feeling bulky. It's professional looking so I don't feel out of place taking this to the office every day, yet it's durable and stain resistant so I have also taken it biking and hiking. It's not an oversized bag so I would not recommend this for a long trip (unless you are a very light packer which I am not). Overall I absolutely recommend this bag!

Overall, I would say Recon is a backpack you must have! It helps lower the pressure on your shoulder and it has many layers and bags and the quality is very good too. -The Design I love its design, it has 3 layers which can help me organize my stuff. The bag in the front is very useful. You can put tissue, face mask or anything that is not very valuable and you can take it out easily whenever you want. The bags aside are useful when you have a bottle or an umbrella. It is big enough that your bottle or umbrella won't drop out from the bags. The straps and the back of the bag are designed to decrease the weight you feel when you carry something heavy and it works really well. I can feel it perfect fit my shoulder and my back. -The Color It took me a while to decide which color I want, and finally I chose the color "ZINC GREY HEATHER / TNF BLACK". I was very excited to received it. When I opened the box, it looked great but then, I found out that the color is very different from what I expected. It looks more like "TNF DARK GREY HEATHER". So I checked the tags and it is exactly Zinc grey heather. I am okay with this color though, just a bit confused if this is the color it supposed to be.

I purchased this bag for a carry on bag when flying and also for use when hiking with my hound. And it works great for both situations. Very happy with the style, space, comfort and quality of this item.

Walking through the hallways at school, there's always a sea of North Face backpacks. Needing a new backpack, I decided to try out TNF backpacks, trusting their popularity. Now that I've had mine for a couple weeks, I can tell you the reason for their popularity: they're good quality and highly functional. More than that, the heather/burnt coral metallic Recon backpack (the one that I bought) is beautiful. There's plenty of space, but also exemplary organization. Instead of throwing my pencil into my old backpack (a brand other than North Face) and then failing to find it in the depths of it, there's a whole compartment for all my school supplies that makes putting them away and finding them again a breeze. My old backpack was a cheap $20 one that had major rips within a few months of use, and buying one TBF backpack that will last years is finically smarter than buying a new $20 one every year for the remainder of my education. I know I'll even be able to use the TNF after I graduate; the backpacks is that durable. Also, even with binders, textbooks, and notebooks, the backpack's clever design lessens the strain on my shoulders and back, making it nonexistent. I'm looking forward to many of years of loving my TNF Recon backpack, as I know the features are very durable and well worth the money spent.

Bought it for myself with traveling in mind. My wife and grand daughter saw it the day it arrived. They checked it first. Both said the same. Are you going to get me one? The quality was very good Pockets and adjustment items were all thought out. This item is a keeper.. A Recon backpack. Doing hiking with my son in The eastern Rockies this summer. Am considering this event a final evaluation of the backpack.

I love this bag! I've used it for commuting to work, traveling, and hiking. The only thing that could use improvement would be if the bag could fit more in it. It doesn't seem to hold it's full potential. Aside from that, it is very durable and has numerous pockets which make it ideal for almost any situation.
