I bought this backpack for my high school aged daughter. She loves everything about it! The color, comfort and lots of different pocket spaces for all her needs! I will definitely buy another!

Works as a dual-purpose backpack for school and day trips. Room for a laptop and notebooks. Got this backpack to replace my old one, which was falling apart and hurting my back. This backpack is durable and comfortable. Would recommend.

My New Backpack is super epic ! It offers alot of pockets for my photography gear and also keeps them dry and safe ! It's not a photography backpack but it does a great job at letting me keep my stuff packed and ready to go , personally don't like bulky photography backpacks and this was a great alternative , actually looks stylish not like a box !

I use this backpack for school. It is large enough to hold all my things, but it also seems to wear down faster on the side I keep my water bottle on.

Bought this backpack for first year of high school - no lockers, have to carry chrome book, binders, etc. all day.I LOVE the way it looks, but the side mesh pockets which held my smooth Hydrofask, ripped. I only used the backpack for almost 2 months before the holes developed. I was careful with it, and it shouldn't have ripped - I don't think. While my backpack was being returned, I used my old Borealis, which technically is smaller. BUT it had so much more room than the Recon - can't explain, but I had more room in it. When I switched from the Borealis to Recon this school year, I thought I was getting more room and an additional back pocket (where the Borealis has cords). That pocket, again looks good, but is not very functional. Wish I could have the functionality of the Borealis in the look of the Recon! (;

The backpack feels great even when there is a heavy load in it, only con is that it falls forward when too many items in top front pocket. Other than that, would definitely buy again :)

I use my backpack for school. I currently am in my Junior year of college for my Bachelors. My backpack allows me to bring all my supplies with plenty if room for my lunch and laptop.

I use this product for school. The pockets are nice and durable. Compared to other products, this one does not sag or rip easily. The color is very nice and easy on the eyes. For the price of this book bag it was worth it. Although, the pockets aren't very big enough to fit a lot of things, this product is still worth investing in. I highly recommend this product.

I had owed a recon for 5 years. Still in great shape. My daughter needed a pack so I ordered a new one and handed down my older one. Love the easy access of all pockets.

I'm petite so this women's backpack feels so much better than previous backpacks I have used. I just started college in June and quickly found that my high school backpack was too spacious once I didn't have as much in it but had to walk a lot further to get to my classes each day. The bag was not fitting snug to me which was starting to cause back pains. I was looking for something that fit closer to my back and up higher. This one is just perfect for me (size, style, space) and feels so much better carrying around campus everyday. I really like the side straps which allow me to keep my water bottle secure as well as keep the backpack more upright. There are enough pockets in this backpack to hold what I need, and I like that the laptop compartment is separate from where I put my binders/books. I do wish there was a zipper on the bottom front pocket, but my pencil case fits in it just fine and doesn't seem like it will come out. The whistle on the sternum strap is also an added security feature. Thanks for making a great backpack!!

I bought this to travel to Spain. I only take carryons. I packed my carry on and then packed 3 extra outfits, my electronics, water and snacks. Worked perfectly for traveling.

I'd give this bag zero stars if I could. I'm a law student, and bought this bag exclusively for classes. It is one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The bag doesn't stand up, it flips forward no matter how much or how little you put in it. You can't even lean it against anything. The only way to prevent it from falling forward is to lay it on its back. It's totally impractical. Don't make the mistake I made and buy this backpack!

I use the product for carrying my computer around campus. There are plenty of pockets and they are all functional. But this is my second time with this style of book bag, and each time the side pockets have developed holes in the side pockets within the first few months of having using the item. I don't feel like a $100 bag should degrade so quickly. The holes have continued to get bigger, and now I can't put smaller items like my keys in there because I'm afraid i will loose them if they fall out. however, I do like the color and design of the North Face bags. The pictures on the website are very accurate representations.
