Outstanding.

Love this backpack. It fits everything I need and is light weight

bag feels well made, I really like the peace of mind North Face offers with their warranty. I have been a loyal customer for decades now since they treat the customer fairly.

I happily used the old recon for probably 10 years amd then decided to get this to replace it. What a mistake. The design of this pack is completely dysfunctional. If you have even a pencil inside the second compartment it almost completely blocks you from putting anything into or getting anything out of the main compartment. If you have something bulky and rigid inside the main compartment you cant put water bottles into the sides, or if you have a water bottle on the side you cant fill the main compartment. Trying to fit a lunch, laptop, and laptop charger into this pack is somehow an infuriating process of squeezing, pushing and pulling. Forget putting a jacket inside. Every time I try and use it for anything more than a laptop bag it drives me insane.

Great backpack now that our daughter has so much more to bring home from school daily!

My husband loves the color of this backpack and all of the pockets that he can store things in. He carries his for work and for play. He has plenty of loops to clip some of his extras on, loves the way the bag holds its shape and the design is tough as nails. He is not gentle on his gear so this will last him a long time! Absolutely recommend!

I have the older version using it for international travel, as well as local use. After some 10 to 15 years, I will order the newer one.

I use this back for travel, its a great backpack don't get me wrong. I love the mesh front (you can throw a hoodie or light packable jacket in there), laptop goes in the main area, the front I can stash passports and stuff but the one major flaw is that while it holds a lot along with a carry on bag, it already weights 2pounds top that with a macbook air, hoodie, some cords, a book, and its so heavy! I wish TNF could make this pack overall lighter in weight it would help a lot with packing it to its capacity, who wants to lug around 5 pounds+ with hardly any items in it.

Great Bagpack

This Recon backpack is capacious and sturdy, with ample space for laptops and other everyday essentials. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish yet practical backpack for work & travel.

Great material and easy use.

I use this backpack daily for college. It is so comfortable on my back and it first everything so easily. I have the brown color and its beautiful and I do not see any backpack like it. Definitely worth it and I am thinking about getting the black color of it.

Perfect for my college age son. He can fit his MacBook and his other laptop into it along with notebooks

I use the backpack for both work and non-work days. The side bottle pockets can easily hold a large water bottle. I love the 4 pocket sections for a small iPad or laptop, sunglasses, wallet, notepad, pens, etc. On more casual days, I can use it for hiking and the chest strap works well to help with the heavier load if necessary. All around, a solid project that gets a great deal of use.

The only thing I would change about this backpack is the iPad pocket size. I wish it fit my full size iPad instead of just a mini. Otherwise I really love this backpack. It fits everything else I need, it looks very sleek, and it has a very high quality feel to it. It is a little on the expensive side unless you can get it during a sale like I did but as long as it holds up good I believe it was well worth it.
