This bag is great in so many ways but it does fall over a lot and can not be upright without leaning onto something. The bag is also very stiff on the back side with no great bend

I decided to buy a new recon because I loved the one I bought about two years ago. I love the color that I chose (rabbit grey with copper), but when I got it and compared it to my older one, I realized that it seemed a bit smaller. My older one is 31 liters compared to one and it's also a bit wider, which makes taking out items easier. Also, with the first zipper that has the pockets, it doesn't run all the way down like the older one and it also has less pockets (probably because it doesn't run all the way down & because it's not as wide). Another con is that it has less padding, but it does have a separate zipper for my laptop which I LOVE (but still wish it had a bit more padding). All in all I still love my new one and it's still as comfortable, but I just wish it had a bit more padding and pockets like the old one. This is still a great backpack and I still recommend it! :)

I love the design and the fact that allows you to carry a heavy load comfortably. Also, the zippers are good quality and love the laptop compartment However, I wish it had more pockets to organize cables, and that the top handle had better padding.

it's amazing and works for all my needs but it would be nicer if the front pocket, first zipper one, extended all the way down!

I use it for school. The 3rd main pocket does not go all the way down, which I thought was poorly designed. I would enjoy it more if the 3rd main packet (with the organizers) if it went all the way to the bottom of the backpack. The outside mesh pocket, and the fleece lining pockets are very nice though.

Great for school use, especially college. Durable, easy to store items and attractive. Just wish the bag was able to stand on its own.

This is a great backpack. Cute, comfortable and roomy. However, it has A LOT of extra straps, buckles, etc. I use this backpack for school only and so I don't use any of the additional features. This can be somewhat annoying. Overall, this is a great product!

I use this for school. I really like how it is organized, but I wish that it would stand up by itself. I have to lean it against a desk or lay it flat on the ground. Would not recommend if you are planning on using the water bottle pockets for a water bottle that may leak. But overall, great design and I would buy again.

I bought this after my long-loved backpack died after 7 years of use. This backpack is an upgrade, and it works as my teacher bag. I'm able to fit my laptop, water bottle, tea tumbler, grading, and other school supplies. My only wish is that it would be able to stand up better on its own.

I wish there was another zippered pocket. There is only the large laptop compartment, main compartment (I put all my school binders and books in here, can fit about 3 binders and 2 books), small zipper pocket (I put my phone and glasses in here), small mesh pocket (I put laptop cord and my journal in here)

I started out with a different women's recon that I bought to use for college. It was not durable at all and developed holes in the outer pockets after weeks of use. I used the warranty program and got this as a replacement and it's held up much better.

I use this backpack daily for work. I put my laptop, lunch, keys, wallet, earphones and badge in there everyday. I love all the pockets and different compartments. I will also use this as a hiking backpack as it is quite versatile. I took off one star because I thought the shoulder straps were a bit stiff and not as comfortable as others I have used. I've only used it for several weeks so I don't know how durable it is yet.

When I needed a new backpack, I posted to Facebook and asked my friends to make recommendations. This backpack was the most often and most highly recommended. I sometimes walk to work (45 min) and needed a backpack that would be comfortable enough to allow for that walk while packed with a computer, books, and probably lunch. This backpack delivered. The only thing that has been a bit odd is that if I set it down on the floor, I have to be mindful of how I put it down or it tips over (i.e., place it with the front of the backpack against the wall).

Well-made, great colors, sturdy. Just on the smaller side than what I need for storage, but if you don't need to carry a lot then this is a great option.

I love this backpack but the HIGH RISE GREY LIGHT HEATHER/MID GREY gets scuff marks that are extremely hard to clean out of it. If I buy this product in the future, I will only buy black. I loved the color but the scuffs are starting to make it look gross and it's less than a month old.

I bought this last night because I was in need of a new bag for school. It is a little on the small side, however I am able to fit 3 notebooks, a composition book, and six folders in the main pocket. I like how the pockets have things in them for organization, and it holds everything I need it to with no trouble. I also walk to school, and it felt very light even though I have so much stuff in it.

I absolutely love this bag. My old NF bag failed to fall apart, so I finally decided to upgrade my 10 yr old bag once it got a stain from lunch I brought to work. This new bag is stylish, the top handle is reinforced, and I love all the pockets and compartments. My only complaint is that I keep my smaller compartment full of go to items and it often weighs down the top end of my bag and makes it a narrow space to fit items into the large compartment. I still am able to fit everything I need to and love the shape and ergonomics of this bag. I use this for everyday commute to and from work, travel, backpacking. I love the heather grey color too! Just as pictured.

North Face, get your act together. This bag does not stand up on its own and it drives me absolutely crazy. The front pocket is great for my u bike lock, so I guess it kind of evens out

I researched for hours on which backpack would be best for me. I'm about to graduate nursing school and needed something that would be great for preceptorship and when I start working officially. This backpack has lots of space and just looks really sharp. It doesn't fit as much as I thought it would though. The front pocket only goes halfway down the bag and the biggest center compartment doesn't open wide enough and the space isn't distributed evenly. There's a ton of space at the bottom of that section, but getting everything to fit in the top part at the same time is difficult. the back compartment for laptops/tablets is a great size. It's padded pretty well and the back is super hard so I feel like its got great protection. I think the shoulder straps could be a little wider and they're pretty stiff, but I'm hoping they'll soften up after some use. Also, the side pockets on this pack are HUGE! I have a 1 Liter Yeti Rambler water bottle and it fits perfectly into the side mesh pockets! Overall, this backpack is awesome. Takes some getting used to but I'm loving it!
