This is the second time I buy a pair of Jack Purcell Leather shoes (First pair bought 2 years ago). I have to say that I am completely disappointed. They changed the manufacturer and various details of the shoe. The shoe no longer has the Jack Purcell Logo in the tongue, the leather is a lot harder than before, and the most annoying thing, the back part of the shoe is now higher and due to the fact that I use low socks, it caused a severe wound in the back of my feet after only 15 minutes walking. If you are a long time Jack Purcell Lover, I advise you, they are not what they used to be, definitely a DON'T BUY unless you use high and very thick socks.

Not worth the money. No support in heel, or arch and very flimsy...too low cut. Paying a high price for the retro vintage look and nothing else. Think they were better made 30 years ago. Returning the shoes.

I think these sneakers are awesome ? and reasonably priced.

I like the shoes a lot, but, they are a half size too big and I got some blisters from them rubbing my heels. They're unisex, therefore, I am guessing they run a bit big to fit a man's foot as well as a woman's. I am a pretty steady size 8.5 in women's shoes, and that's what I ordered for these Jack Purcell's (Men's 7 / Women's 8.5) . But, I should have ordered a size 8 / Men's 6.5 and I think they'd fit just right. I recommend these shoes, just order a half size down if you're buying for a woman.

I bought my first pair of Jack Purcells in canvas over ten years ago and finally decided to replace them with leather. I did a side-by-side comparison, and aside from a few differences in the logo, I don’t see much change from the earlier version. And fresh out of the box, I wore them for an entire weekend walking around San Francisco without any problems. They’re still the best!

I am a big fan of Jack Purcell Converse shoes. Currently I have a pair of the white canvas as they are much more comfortable and cushioned feeling than the standard Converse shoes. Thought I would try the leather style as they can easily be wiped down if dirty rather than tossing into the wash. Fit was great basically the same as my canvas pair but my concern was the stiffness at the heal area. I have tender heels that blister quite easily and fear that these would be a chronic blister maker. I’m just going to purchase another canvas pair as I gifted my last pair to my daughter!

I was deciding between the leather or canvas Jack Purcell. I've had the canvas style in the past, and they wear easily. I'm really glad I switched over to the leather. They are a tiny bit roomier than the canvas style, and they appear to be more durable.

Also bought High Top shiny White Leather Jack Purcell Converse to play Granny Basketball Games They are also great, I have red & White striped socks for games, So, I put in Wide Red laces. My shoes stole the show. Kay

Wow!! I bought this same shoe about four years ago. Loved them, wear them every day until they are so slick I couldn't play Granny Basketball in them. Looked everywhere for them, called you, got a call from you, an e-mail that they were back in stock, ordered them and lo and behold, the exact ones I had had, now I can practice with my Granny Team Order a pair and join your own Granny Basketball Team. Classic tennis shoe with a leather upgrade! Great with shorts, jeans or khakis. I will always have a pair of Purcells in my closet.

truly one of the most stylish and classic shoes out on the market. It is very comfortable and goes well with any set of clothes. Formal to casual. The leather helps keep it clean compared to the canvas in my opinion. Solid.

These are super comfortable. They run a little big I usually wear a 6 and I got a 5½ because the 6 was too big. They are awesome so far.

I wanted a "dressy" sneaker for sightseeing in foreign countries, to avoid looking ready for the gym. The leather is good quality, not smooth kind of pebbly. My usual size had to go back for a half size smaller. Zappos service great as always.

My 13 year old loves these. The leather stays looking better than the canvas ones her friends have. They were comfortable from the moment they went on and for all the days at school. Cute to see the fashion from my middle school is still around!

These are very comfortable and true to size. I bought them for a trip to London, knowing that I would be doing a lot of walking on cement. I am not able to do that any more without really padded and supportive footwear but I think running shoes for street wear is so unattractive! These were much more stylish and could accommodate my custom orthotic arch supports. Zappos service, as always, was superb.

Great shoes! On my second pair go great with everything. Leather make them a little more durable and easy to clean. I get compliments all the time from young and old.

These shoes are fantastic and feel great and true to size. I have flat feet and I have experienced no problems after a few weeks of wearing them. I do wear no-show socks with them. I like them so much that I just ordered the Jack Purcell leather Post Applied Ox (whatever that means) in navy.

Great shoe. Size wise it seems to run maybe a half size large. I wear 10.5 in most athletic shoes and actually a 9 in Chuck Taylors but the Jack Purcell seems more true. I ordered a 10 and it's perfect. The footbed is way nicer than my Chuck's as it is extremely comfortable. The leather is a must as the white canvas is impossible to keep clean.

Love these shoes. I have descended arches, so I use arch support anyway, but for someone with normal arches the support should be adequate. Leather is definitely the way to go. Easier to clean than canvas, worth the extra money.
