I actually stumbled onto Ariat while reading reviews on a boot from another brand, so I decided to check out their selection. The Roper Boot seemed like a good style for me, and the reviews were outstanding so I took a chance and ordered. Wow, what I great choice--these boots are wonderful! I can't believe how much support and stability they give me, and I can wear them with anything. I also ordered 1/2 size smaller than my normal size as advised by other customers. I'm glad I did. I was looking forward to these shoes, but I found them to be uncomfortably narrow and difficult to put on.

This was my first purchase of an Ariat product. The boots are well-made, attractive and reasonably priced. I like them so much I ordered another pair in brown. Zappos is incredible. I have been buying shoes and boots from them for years and the customer service is top notch.

I was only disappointed because I did not quite like the style - it was a little too much cowboy and they were very stiff. I am sure they break in but I just did not feel comfortable. They are very well made, though.

These are by far the most comfortable boots that I have ever purchased! They fit right out of the box and were true to size. I can see why people wear them for over eight hours - they are that comfortable. I am returning the boots however as they lack an edge stylistically. I was looking for more of an urban boot similar to Frye. I got the black Ariat ropers and the mid-calf cut is very unflattering with jeggings (I am 5'5"). That plus the rounded toe makes it look like I am wearing a child's rain boot from afar. It might look better in distressed brown.

Nice boots, but a whole size bigger than what you wear. I sent these back only to get the correct size, can't wait.

Great boot once they are broken in, which for me took about 2 weeks. They were really tight when I first got them and I have a pretty narrow foot. The right boot was tighter across the top of my foot and it really bothered me at first but now is equal to the left. I use them for daily barn chores and riding and they are exactly what I was looking for. I got the distressed brown color.

Just our of the box, right foot seemed a bit snug. Within one day of wearing fit perfectly. These are incredibly comfortable, supportive boots. Plus they are so, so cute. Love them!

I really love Ariat boots. They are well made and usually wide enough for me (C/D). I had a pair of these ropers for 15 years and wore them riding and knocking around, until my feet lengthened a bit this year. Gave away the boots but I missed them! So after 6 mo I am back to get another pair, larger size. They are true to size -- I now wear 8.5-9 C/D, and bought the 8.5C. The length fits well, and width is barely wide enough so a true C.

I've been looking for a med height boot that looked like a cowboy boot and this is it! Color is great because it will go with a lot. The comfort is fine ill be able to walk all day in these. I ordered a 7.5 since I am a true 7.5 and they fit! In Frye boots I'm an 8. My feet are a little narrow and these boots fit fine and I'm sure over time they will give perfectly. Overall I'm happy with the boot and the brand! Thanks Zappos!

This is a GREAT knock-around boot. I'm on my third pair. We have horses and I wear these to ride and as a general work-around-the-ranch boot. Forget the traditional western boot with a higher heel: For walking as well as riding, these can't be beat. True to size, perfect medium width, easy to pull on with medium thick socks, and easy to pull off. I get them wet, walk through desert brush, kick cactus, kick manure, kick the dogs (just kidding...), doesn't matter. They look just as good after all of that, as they did brand new. And they look better with age - just like me. :-)

Excellent boot. I wore them around the house for a while before wearing them on the farm. Virtually no breaking in needed.

Love these ropers. Ariat knows how to make boots. The instep is a little tight at the moment but I think it will loosen with time. Pretty boots.

I bought these boots for a guest ranch vacation and couldn't have been happier with them. Ariat boots in general seem to fit better in the heel than other brands, and I love the no nonsense, classic styling.
