Can't kill 'em- Got them February 2002. Wear them 1 to 4 times a week depending on season. Still strong. Soles and heels are near pristine. Great for stomping in mud. Clean up easy. Very comfortable for me. Probably need a new pair in another 3 years. Best money I ever spent.

Ariat Heritage Roper review - I ordered this boot for my son for Christmas. Not only was it an exceptional buy (and I adore Zappos for not charging shipping!) But it is also an exceptional quality, good-looking boot. I ordered a half-size larger than usual based on other reviews I read here before ordering. It was a great fit on my son and he said they were extremely comfortable to put right on and wear. He has bought Ariat boots before for himself, his wife and me, and we all love them. They do run a bit small and narrow. Incidentally, Customer Service and reliability on the part of Zappos are second to none!

Best boots for those with narrow heels & shallow instep. I tried on four different brands of "Roper Boots" and the only brand that fit my feet were the Ariats...they are apparently made on true combination lasts (even though the others say that they are)-- combination last means having a wider forefoot than the heel. Also the instep is shallower so that my slim foot is held down to the insole much better and my heel does not come up hardly at all when I walk. I love them!!

These boots are harder than most to pull on: you really have to stand up in them and pull. This probably makes them less likely to come off by accident, and I must admit that once they're on, they fit great, and they're quite comfortable. On my particular sample, the right boot seemed a smidgen smaller than the left; I didn't notice this with the other brands I tried so I don't think it's my foot. The left shaft also had an unfortunate fold that landed right on my Achilles tendon which made it a bit uncomfortable. I think simply getting a different pair might have fixed these complaints, and they're a great-looking, comfortable and understated pair of boots, so I'll probably try another pair sometime soon.

Ordered these boots in my normal size due to several other reviewers who said they stretch out as you wear them, but was concerned they might still be a little small as marked sized in most shoes tend to be a half size too small for what I wear in a new balance. Anyway the boots, once I can get them on my feet fit fantastic and are very comfortable and look great. That said, getting these boots on and off is a problem, that pinch off in the heel of the boot doesn't seem to be stretching out yet, maybe you have to wear them for several weeks? or put them on and take them off a lot. Anyway great boot, but be careful with sizing.

They were a little hard to get on at first, compared to other boots the same size that I've had, but once I started wearing them - and they have gotten broken in a little - they are VERY comfortable! Still a little hard to pull on, but overall a very nice boot.

Great boot. Comfortable to walk in. Looks great in jeans. However, they stretched quickly as such if you have a narrow foot like I do, you will probably need to use an insert or wear very thick sock. Typically I will wear a size 14 in a Boot. I ordered a Size 13 in this boot. Usually boots are narrower than dress shoes or work boots. Go figure… Do not use Mink oil on these boots if you don’t want to destroy them. I have worn these boots all day without much discomfort. I would recommend that you measure your foot or try these boots on and walk around the house for a while before you make a final decision to order or purchase.

Thick Socks? These are GOOD boots. They are unadorned and practical. I found mine to be a little LOOSE, but a half-size smaller would be too much, I think. Quality is good. Zappos customer service helped me find the right size.

When I received these boots, they did not look like what I thought they would look like. Although the online picture was accurate as to the appearance, it was not what I had in my mind. Still, they are good looking boots that fit perfectly and are very comfortable.

Prior to buying these boots, I had read a couple of reviews that noted that these boots are hard to get on. Being an optimist, I ordered them anyway. The reviews were correct - they were virtually impossible to put on - however once I finally got them on, they seemed to fit well (I wear a 9 1/2.) Still being an optimist, I hoped that they would stretch, so I decided to wear them the rest of the day. Fortunately, they were somewhat easier to take off, than they were to put on - but barely. I should have boxed them up and shipped them back at that point, but out of stubbornness I decided to try to break them in the next day with a workout at the barn and on horseback. By the end of the day, I realized that I'd made a mistake with these boots, but at this point, I felt that they were too worn to send back. I like everything else about the boots, but not being able to get them on is a deal-breaker.

These are nice looking boots. They are tough to get on, but comfortable after that. They are not for winter and are very slick.

Great boots, fit well, sizing in my opinion right on. The only complaint I have is that the soles squeak when walking. It's a composite sole so I can't figure out where the noise is coming from.

Ariat Heritage - I never got the boot on. It was so narrow in the throat of the boot that I believe I would have needed two or more sizes larger than my foot to get in it. Very attractive well made upper. The sole was a bit more space age in appearance than I was prepared for. Return process worked fine.

These are the only cowboy boots my son wears. They are sturdy, comfortable, and nice looking. He buys a new pair every couple of years when he wears out his old pair. He noticed that the insoles were improved this time around. They are still very comfy as Ariats always are, but now also have little air holes in them for added comfort.

I wear a 13ee and these fit great! True to size and true to width. I have a very big leg (calf) and these more than fit my heavy calf with room to spare! Very impressed! Love, love, these cool boots!

Attractive and comfortable boot -- a bit tight to get on at first, then comfy. I would not advise this boot for someone who takes his boots on and off frequently as it takes effort. Great value.

These are very nice boots and good looking too. I have another pair of Ariat Boots (The Heritage R) and they are a 9.5" medium. They fit great and I've had them for years. I naturally ordered the same size in the Ropers but they were too narrow and my toes felt a bit cramped. I called customer service and they were very nice. I decided to order a 10" medium. They fit me fine in width now and my toes are fine but now the heels are too loose!

Thought I was going to love these boots when I received them today. Left one went on easy but I couldn't even get my right heel down in the right boot. I tried everything but couldn't get my foot in the boot. What a shame, these look nice. I think the right boot was just made too small. Both of my feet are the same so I know it wasn't me!

I've had my Ariat Ropers for almost 20 years now and they are still going strong. I've been through multiple knee surgeries and these are solid for comfort. I may look at getting another pair for the next 20 years, although, I'm not getting rid of my original pair anytime soon.

I purchased these for my boyfriend to wear to work. He loves them! The selling point was that he could wear them through airport security without setting off the metal detectors or having to remove them. They are comfortable and fit well and easy to get on and off - a win!!

This is one of the best pair of boots that I have ever owned, and I have owned plenty over the last 50 plus years. The last pair I had I wore for 3 years on the job and then have used them for the last 5 years as outside garden/hole digging etc. and only now have worn them out. I have a pair that I have been wearing for about 6 years as a "dress" boot, and they will now assume the role of work boots.

Wore several years ago and recently got some more because they are comfortable boots I'd like to see them make one in a 14 inch tall top same boot, same heel, I wear a B narrow which makes these real good for me because narrow is hard to find, and comfortable from before sunup up to after sundown
