good shoe - This is a good shoe that fits well and is comfortable. The only downside to it is that the leather lining used in this shoe makes wearing it without socks uncomfortable. So I'll still wear my old original unlined Sperry's when I sail (without socks).

Boat shoe lover loves his Gold Cups! Just love wearing these shoes. About the only thing that am not totally happy about is the fact that I cannot get them on without unlacing. All other boat shoes that I own I have had the convenience of just slipping into. Maybe it's the shape of my foot or maybe it is just a necessary part of the design to achieve such comfort. I am very pleased with these shoes. Have done a lot of walking and find them almost as good as some very good (and expensive) walking shoes that I own. They are definitely a step up in the dress department from most other boat shoes. I find that the construction and finishing make them look dressy enough to wear in situations that I would not wear any other boat shoes that I own.

While they look good and seem to be well made, they are not the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I think they would be fine for a casual night out, but an all-day affair might be too much. Wore them for 4 days in CA last month and they hurt my feet after the 2nd day. My fault for not bringing a 2nd pair of shoes. They are what they are - a casual boat shoe for casual part-time wear. A lot of $$$ for a so-so shoe.

Delamination - I love the look, comfort and fit. I've owned two pairs and both delaminated within one month in the same spot, right heel. May be related to stress during driving or the fact that I take that shoe off first. I tried a couple of cements to try to repair but no success. Maybe they should be shipped with Sperry's special contact cement.

Gold Cup Two-Eye- I have owned this shoe for a year. It is holding up well and still looks good. This is definitely not a boat shoe. Soles don't have good traction on a fiberglass deck. Insole is spongy and conforms to foot contour. It tends to stick to my foot and come out if worn without socks.

Did not last – delaminated in nine months. This was a nice looking shoe that fit well but I am very disappointed that both shoes have the bottom coming apart in the same place after 9 months of very gentle use. I have had less expensive Sperry shoes last much longer.

I bought these to replace an old pair of the same size and found that they were quite different. Much too big. That made me wonder if they are genuine or some knock off.

Seeing all these five-star reviews surprised me. Last year I purchased two pair of the Gold Cup 2-eye (brown deerskin, now discontinued, and cognac). Both pair fell apart within a few days as the linings pulled loose from friction around the toes. Perhaps these aren't meant to be worn without socks or something, or maybe active outdoor wear is a bad idea, but they're boat shoes and so I wore them that way. Both pair did the same thing so it wasn't a fluke. Otherwise, they had a nice appearance but not this-price nice. The leathers were thin inside and out. They were moderately comfortable while they lasted but not remarkably so, no better than the more typical boat shoe at half the price, though they didn't get a chance to break in. Another pair of recent Sperrys, Largos, wore a little better for me but still pulled apart at the seams around the toe. Between those and the Gold Cups I've become a Sebago fan. For higher-end styles like the Gold Cup there's Frye and Allen-Edmonds.
I'd also recommend:
