Rockport Northfield - The shoe is quite comfortable as advertised but a little clunky looking. I tried on the same shoe and size in a local store before ordering this shoe from Zappos. The shoe in the store seemed roomier and even more comfortable. The shoes from Zappos seem to become more comfortable with wearing.

Rockport Northfield - The shoes fit comfortably. The arch support could have been a little stiffer for me. The soles seem to be a little softer than I hoped and are starting to wear off on the side of the heel after just 3 weeks.

This is a good, sturdy, comfortable, affordable shoe. My size 15 fits well. Try it.

Great comfort, so-so looks - This is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. They also seem to be very well made and will probably last for a long time. On the down side, the looks are not all that great. They remind me of the boots I was issued when I first joined the Air Force.

Good basic dress shoe - I ordered this in both brown and black and kept the black. The brown had too much of a pinch on my left foot when my heel was up, but the blacks were a good fit. They are a great dress shoe when you have to look a certain way at the office, but then end up on your feet and walking throughout the office building all day. Try them and see if they work for you as well as they work for me.

Nice shoes - I don’t know much about shoes, and I hate show shopping for shoes. I ordered these not expecting much, but they are very nice. They did take a couple weeks for me to break them in, but they now fit very well and are pretty comfortable as far as work shoes go. I am pretty happy with this purchase.

Great business casual - I have owned Rockports for years. I bought one black and one brown pair several years ago, and they lasted over 4 years b/c I didn't wear them every day. When I finished graduate school for physical therapy, I quickly realized I needed new shoes, so I bought another pair of each. The newer ones, Circa 2006 were slightly different than the older model--fit a bit tighter and the sole was of a different material--comfortable, but not as durable. I wear the black ones more often at work, where I am on my feet 8-9 hours a day on thinly carpeted concrete. The black pair has lasted less than a year and the sole is very worn down on the inside of the forefoot. I have always loved the way this shoe looked--simple but good with khakis or jeans, but am slightly disappointed in the lack of durability. I would buy them again, but am considering another brand to see if it is more durable and just as comfortable.

Perfect from Day One - I got these because I had a pair of Rockports for the past several years and I loved the way they fit. Unfortunately, the sole split and I really needed a new pair. I love these new ones. They fit perfectly from day one and I didn't get any rubs or sore spots. I wear them for my business casual work environment. The one con is that the visibly ribbed tread could make these seem a bit too casual.

I'll take what I can get - I have a very narrow foot. Most anything that fits my foot looks like it belongs to someone 30 years older than me. I can make these work with an extra insole, though they're still a little wide. I love the look of them and they don't hurt or slip much.

Nice shoe - Nice shoe, but not as comfortable as other Rockport’s I've had in the past. Still better than most other brands I've tried.

As comfortable as my sneakers - I bought these shoes when I moved from CA to NYC because my nearly 1 mile per day walking commute practically destroyed my old shoes within the first 2 months and a pair of Clarks I bought really hurt! These Rockports are unbelievably comfortable. Good padding, light, flexible, good breathability, and truly waterproof (even when walking in shallow puddles on rainy days my feet stayed bone-dry). I absolutely love the fact that they have wide widths too. My only problem was that over the course of about 8 months of 5x/week use, the soles became eroded to the point that a substantial portion of the "treads" got worn down and they became extremely slippery in wet weather and I almost fell a few times. I'm not sure if this is normal for shoes though, as I have never walked this much in my life! It’s important to note, however, that the uppers remained flawless and continue to look great. I thought about getting them re-soled but have decided instead to just buy a new pair, perhaps a different model of Rockports for fun. I never spent so much on shoes before but my experience with these shoes proved to me that it’s an important investment if you’re going to be walking a lot.

Rockport Northfield - I needed a narrow shoe that was semi dressy, yet comfortable. This fits the bill.

Narrow shoe search - I am one of the unlucky males that have very narrow feet. The Rockport runs fairly true to width although it probably is a true C instead of a B. The shoes are comfortable and they wear a long time as I have purchased them before. Overall a pretty solid choice.

Rockport Northfield- It's fine, but the size 7 is larger than the Rockport's I have been buying for the last 20 years. So, they don't fit quite right and my feet move around in them.

Nice shoe - Not much to say. The shoes fit and are comfortable with enough space for a generic orthotic. The service was excellent.

Rockport Northfield - I purchased these shoes because they were available in a narrow size and that they were Rockports. I have been very happy with the way that they fit and feel. The only problem that I have found is that the soles seem to wear quickly. This is actually my second pair of Northfields. The first is still in good shape except the sole had worn to a point where traction was non-existent.

Your everyday work shoe - I got these for everyday work wear, and they serve their purpose well. They're not particularly stylish, but they do the job for comfortable day-to-day use with chinos or jeans. It should be noted that the shoelaces on these are terrible as they are constantly coming loose. Plan to replace them with another pair of laces.

Dull finish but otherwise nice - I buy Rockports because they are comfortable and durable. The finish on this particular model is a little dull but, otherwise, the shoe is great.

Great shoe...I'm a convert from Docs - I've worn Doc Martens for 12 years. Always liked the style, durability and comfort. Not anymore. They're made in China now instead of England with inferior materials. Threw the last pair in the trash. These Rockports are better than any Docs I ever had. Comfortable, casual look, and waterproof! Very narrow though, get wider than normal.

Rockport Northfield - It is a very comfortable shoe.

My husband loved this shoe - the nubuck has the perfect look and is so comfortable. He loved that it was waterproof. Literally The first time he wore them someone dropped a meatball off a toothpick as appetizers were being passed and the meatball fell right in the top of the shoe. Long story short, we did everything possible to clean the grease stain off the shoe but the shoe was ruined. There is now a big dark round stain on the light nubuck making the shoes unwearable. So they may be waterproof but they are NOT meatball-proof. So be aware if you order these! We should have stain-proofed them first.

Good shoes - I've had several pairs. Terrible laces that crack and unravel far too quickly, usually after just a couple of months. I replace with 36" boot laces which last the rest of the life of the shoes. The picture is after a month of use - the laces have cracked and will soon begin catching in the eyelets which will be time to replace them. 3 stars due to the laces.

Fit well, but color pretty flat and nondescript. Just too plain as a work shoe.

I started to develop sore feet, especially my arches and heels, and had to purchase arch support insoles. After about a year of use, the sole began to separate from the rest of the shoe, along the curve of my two smallest toes.
