The edges around ankle are hard, not goof for walking distances good for show off

These are my go-to shoes for international vacations -- great to walk in and ready for sun or rain. They're terrific for around town too, of course.

Honestly this was a much better experience then I ever expected. Let’s start with the size. It was perfect. I ordered 10.5 4E. When I slipped these bad boys on I felt like Cinderella. Just perfect. Not too big. Not too small. Not to wide or narrow. Exactly what I needed. The style. I mean look at them. Exactly what is in the picture is what I got. They are gorgeous, good quality, and look great with all my jeans. I’m wearing them to work every day. The break in was not nearly as bad as I expected. Normally breaking shoes takes a couple of weeks. These took one day. It was a painful day. But that is because these shoes have GREAT arch support... and apparently that is what i missing with all of my other shoes. I was constantly in pain. My feet killed me all day long. But getting these shoes, took that away. It was awkward getting used to having the hump in my arch. It took a while to figure out what it was, and that it was a good thing. But after a few days I realized that I wasn’t limping anymore. My feet weren’t in agonizing pain. And I realized, the lack of arch support in my other shoes was the culprit to the pain! Seeing as I was someone who has never owned shoes with arch support, it felt very odd. It still does at times. But I will never go back to something with out. Over all I feel like these will last a long time, they feel great, they look great. I have never had a more pleasant experience, which is saying something because i usually buy all my shoes in store. I’m pretty positive I will only buy ROCKPORT exclusively from now on. Zappos, which I think is now owned by amazon? They will be my destination for shoes from now on as well. Amazon shipping brought these to me very quickly as well. Very happy customer. If they keep this up, I’ll go back.

I have bought this exact same shoe in the store 5 or 6 times. No surprise to me that what I purchased fits and I like it. I liked it 5 or 6 times before that is why I keep buying it. Your price was cheaper but the same shoe from the same company. Thanks.

I am very satisfied. These shoes are indeed waterproof! The soles are nice and thick, but flexible, and not slippery when wet. I would have enjoyed these shoes more if after two months, I had not spilled ¼ gallon of latex paint over them and my new oriental rug. Thanks Mr. Contractor for not putting paint lids back securely! But, instead of replacing the one pair, I ordered two pairs because the shoes are that good. Now, if the paint splattered rug was only paint proof!

We are going to Germany winter 2013 for the Christmas Markets. I wanted a shoe that was waterproof.

The Rockport Northfield is true to size, wears well and is extremely comfortable. Being waterproof is a nice feature when out in inclement weather. I never have to worry about wet or damp feet.

These are very comfortable shoes for walking around. I have a narrow foot and the fit is good. They look great with jeans.

These are great winter slush/ice shoes. These have been superb in the snow and ice we have had this last week. They provide great traction, and warm feet. Obviously, they are for those days when boots are not needed. The Newbuck has a great suede look while being fist class winter traction/waterproof shoes. Almost as good and half the price of my Ecco Track IIs.

I\'ve bought this particular Rockport shoe for years now. I have wide feet and this is about the only shoe that I find comfortable. I used to have to buy it at a shoe store (at a high price, of course) and was pleased to find it on Zappos. Shipping to Canada was quick and efficient, and the whole buying experience was a pleasure. I\'ll definitely shop here again!

These shoes are wonderful! No complaints. Since they come in narrow, I can get the size I want! They look fresh and they appear casual- dressy, without looking "clunky". In addition, I walk to work every day in these. I own them in black and brown and this is my second set of these I am on. Very worth it. I am so glad I found these. I had a shoe I liked for this purpose but it got discontinued. These are far better. My wife by the way, talked me into getting the Rockport brand, she remembered the doctors she worked for wearing them back in 1984 because they were surgeons and wanted looks and comfort.

This is my second pair of these. The first ones, I have had for years. They are old and reliable and I love this brand of Rockport. Try them out!

I wear these everyday for work. They are comfortable, have thick soles, and they are stylish. I've purchased this shoe before. They wear well. Good price.

Great shoe! This is my second pair. I\'m on my feet a lot and this shoe provides great support and comfort - a big plus to me is that it\'s fairly light. The only negative is that it is little hot in the summer.

My Rockport Northfield - What can I say.... a great shoe! Felt like I had worn it in for years, yet its only a day old. Looks great, feels even greater! Nice and Wide!

I ordered these shoes on a Wednesday morning and received them the very next day. That is unbelievable that they can ship the shoes out that quick.

I bought these for my husband to replace a pair of Bass shoes that made his heels sore whenever he wore them. He finds these to be a good replacement since they have padding at the heel. He said he thinks they will only need a small amount of breaking in to be really comfortable. So far, he's worn them on a two-day trip and out to dinner and was very happy with them.

My husband calls these a winner! Lightweight, comfortable and true to size. My husband is a mechanical engineer...on his feet on concrete surfaces. He loves these shoes because they are waterproof and required no breaking in period.
