First of all, I am a woman and wear a 7 1/2 shoe/boot. Due to construction at my workplace I must walk across a graveled parking lot - muddy or dusty. I was looking for an overshoe to protect my boots this winter and could find nothing like this high top zip boot for women. So I ordered a small in men's and it is perfect. Or as perfect as an ugly black overshoe can be. I wish it were clear or decorative like the many many rainboots, which I have a pair -- heavy! I'll bet there is a market for a feminine overshoe! Is anybody listening?

Essential protection for expensive shoes -
These overshoes are quite good. Not as good as my old pair of Totes overshoes, which lasted for almost 20 years before they finally wore out this winter. But Totes does not seem to make overshoes anymore. So I bought these.
The rubber seems to be quite thick and I expect them to wear well. They could be improved by making the zipper just a little bit longer. The zipper ends about an inch from the top of the boot. However, the zipper seems to work well and seems to be of good quality.
Also, the inside of the boot is quite "grippy" and they are more difficult to slip on and off than my old Totes. I'm going to try to improve that by dusting the inside with baby powder.
Overall, I feel overshoes are absolutely necessary to protect my expensive dress shoes from the wear-and-tear of midwest winter weather.

The boots are great, Great for going to and from the office. I would like to get another pair but higher up the leg (about six more inches with full length zipper on top for easier fit). But the half boots are great for office use.

Zappos.com is the only place we can find these boots. My husband likes to wear these over his dress shoes in our wintry climate. They are great quality, true to size -- just order by your shoe size.
I'd also recommend:
Totes used to make this product but we can't find it now.

I recently purchased the Tingley overshoe boot for my boyfriend. He is a well dressed meticulous kind of guy and when he received them, he was excited and very appreciative. Nevertheless, it has not rained a drop since we got them but he's praying for rain! Surprisingly great fit - fits both square toe and a more pointed/round toe. They have a little tab at the heel of each boot for easy removal. I would recommend these

Finally Found my husband overshoes -
My husband had been half looking for overshoes for the wonderful winter weather in New York. I found the low Tingley boots at an outlet store. After reading the box, I found Tingley made the type he wanted. I turned to Zappos because I look there for shoe styles for myself. He was very pleased with the overshoes. I think I need to order shoes for myself!

These boots do exactly what they are supposed to. However, they can be a little difficult to put on. One pair tore when trying to slip over the heel so we'll wait and see on the second pair.
With these boots on, you can confidently push thru the slush, snow, and puddles of the Chicago winter!

Tingley Overshoe Half Zipper Boot -
This overshoe works well over most dress and casual shoes. They allow pants to be tucked to avoid splash and soiling from rain- or snow-filled walkways. They can tend to wear through on the heels allowing water seepage; a patch would extend use if a leak occurs. Caution is also advised when putting them on so as to avoid damaging or tearing the upper portion of these overshoes. Overall, they are handy and can be stored in a carry bag for ready use whenever useful. (Recommended.)

Is there a right size?
These are nice rubbers boots to slip over shoes. However, the sizes are such that if you are like me, no size probably fits. I am shoe size 10. When I get the medium that covers this size, I have to struggle in a major tug of war to get them on. And if I get the large size? Well, then I am stumbling along in too much boot. Ce la vie!

These boots are okay. Certainly better than rubbers that just cover the shoe. However, the toe is pointed, and I have no pointy shoes, so the fit is a little off. All my leather work shoes have more rounded toes - wingtips, captoes, loafers - nothing with a point. And thinking back, I don't think I've ever had shoes with pointy toes. I'm curious why they make this with a pointy toe. Odd. Also, the boot could be higher. Trousers don't stay in, so I have to roll them up. I would like if the boot went a few inches higher up the leg. But again, they are much better than standard rubbers that only cover the shoe.
