These are great shoes ... and Zappos sent them super fast as always. Definitely order a half size down from what you would normally wear, Fryes run big. These boots look fantastic with skirts; I get lots of compliments. Good quality boot; you won't be disappointed.

love these!! These boots are not only exquisitely crafted, they look fabulous, and feel like I have owned them for years. Strangers stop me to compliment me on these boots. I have at least 20 pairs of boots in my collection, and these are absolutely classic. I am a teacher, and I put pads in the insoles for extra comfort - I run around in these all day, and try to wear them at least once a week. Great boots, great price. Look great with skirts - short or long, and jeans.

HoT! HoT! (did i mention hot?) muy caliente hot! I love Frye boots anyway. I usually wear a 7, but as that size was unavailable; I took a chance on the 6.5. It's all good! I have a super high arch (often a problem), so I'm experimenting with some pads, arch supports, whatever, because that part does hurt a little, but only by the end of the day! They look so good with everything! Plus, it's the kind of leather that will just look better over time. I just love 'em to death! ZAPPOS? I have not found better customer service *anywhere*. These folks are the best!

I love, love, love these shoes! They are stylish, I get so many compliments on them. They are true to size & look totally hot over slim fitting jeans; and even sexier with a short jean skirt. These boots are so hot!!!!!!!!!

Fabulous boots - Upon arrival, I fell in love with these boots. They are comfortable, and I like how I can adjust the tightness with the laces or I can just let the laces hang loose. I do put a gel pad in them for the balls of my feet, and that helps, esp. if I am to be on my feet for awhile. These boots make me feel great and they look very Bohemian and rugged chic. I am constantly getting compliments on these boots. They have a distressed leather finish that makes them look vintage. Durable, and if I take care of them, I should have these boots for a long time.

Frye villager lace - These boots are better than I had expected. Absolutely love the look. The quality of the leather is excellent...Comfort is pretty good. Worth the money!! Zappos had these boots shipped so quickly!! As always I am very happy with Zappos!!!

Cuty-pie Boots! The shoes are gorgeous. They make a 'wow' statement. They fit beautifully, especially around my small calves which are usually too skinny in high boots. Additional traction is a necessity for the sole of the shoe as they are very smooth, but stick on treads are inexpensive and easy to find.

More comfy than I thought they'd be - I have had a couple of pairs of frye boots in the past and loved them. These were pretty much exactly what I was looking for, right heel height, round toe, not too pointy. I like the lace up because I have muscular calves and these adjust to fit. Also they are lined with soft leather and don't scratch or blister your legs. They look very well-made and I work at a university, do lots of walking and had virtually no break-in. Leather feels stiff at first but softens quickly. My only gripe is they'd be more versatile if the leather wasn't so distressed. It's a neat look but I'd like the option of dressing them up a little more.

Liked these very much. The style was modern, but wearable by older women like me who want a solid, flexible yet stylish boot. The problem was that they felt narrow, and would fit only with very thin sox or stocking weight hose, never mind an orthotic, soft insole, or medium to heavy weight sox for a cold day. The length was ok, so I could not get the next size up, would be too long. Regretfully, I am returning them.

I felt that the shoe ran big in size and felt bit stiff in the shaft part. I did have to loosen the laces to fit my calf (that is a big plus with this boot) but it did not seem to help much. The comfort level seemed ok. I recommend going down a 1/2 size though with this boot. The material and quality are great.

Great Looking Boot - First of all. I normally am a solid 7.5, even some shoes an 8. The 7.5 was way too big, 7 was still pretty roomy and 6.5 was snug. I will be wearing a regular sock, so I went with the 6.5-if I hadn't tried them on first, I would have never bought a 6.5. The bottoms are slippery. I have to do something about that, I almost fell twice. The Antique Gold is so beautiful!! Again, if I hadn't seen it in person, I never would have bought it. It’s not gold; it's like a shiny brown-like a bronzer. Love it!

Beautiful - I wanted these boots for two years because of how beautiful they are. My boyfriend got me a pair for Christmas, and I love them! They look great with jeans and skirts! My only complaints are that my feet start hurting after a few hours because of the lack of arch support. I put in insoles, and that helped a little but not a lot. My other complaint is that the leather is so stiff, they're very not flexible. Hopefully with time, they'll be a bit more comfy. There's no way I'm going to stop wearing them!

Great look!! Comfort is so-so. Positives: These boots look awesome on. They fit my slim calves fairly well, since you can tighten them up somewhat with the laces. They also seem to be waterproof...I got caught in the rain while wearing them. They're yery sturdy and I expect them to last a long time. Negatives: These boots definitely need "breaking in", esp. in regards to the bending ability of the ankle (I have slim, rather weak ankles). If you have high arches, as I do, you'll need to get some insoles for them. There's no cushioning I can feel in this shoe, and I need a little, esp. in a heel as high as this. Still, I'm keeping them. The sturdy constuction and look is too good!

Nice but fall apart! According to other reviews, I got lucky because mine lasted a whole year before the back heel ripped, and because it wasn't quite on the seam, a cobbler couldn't fix them, and Nordstrom was nice enough to take them back a year after I had purchased them. It is too bad, because I have other Frye boots that are just fine. Plus, these are really cute and I loved the style, but at least I got a whole year's worth of wear out of them! I just felt like for the money, they should have lasted longer, and I am really nice to my shoes and don't wear them hard at all. Oh well, just purchased a pair of Borns to replace these (as they were important to my wardrobe) and hopefully will have better luck with the Borns. Such a shame, these are so cute!

LOVE them, but sad............ I saw a couple other girls write this on this site, so I had to share my experience, too. I LOVE these boots - how they look. The comfort was ok, probably need insoles to make them a bit more comfortable. However, after a couple wears for me that seam in the back split open! I was shocked, because these boots look and feel so well constructed! Ok, so Zappos customer service is awesome, awesome... they had me another pair by the next day. But guess what.. after TWO wears on the SECOND paid - seam ripped open again!! I couldn't believe it, they don't feel tight or anything, so strange. I know I'm nuts but I am trying them ONE more time, to see if a different color (maybe the material is a little different?) will work, because I can't find another boot that I love the look of so much! Wish me luck!

I purchased these on sale at Neiman Marcus. Unfortunately when I took them off after wearing them the 1st day I was shocked to find a seam at the back of the boot where the heel and shaft meet was completely split open. I returned them very disappointed because Frye boots are supposed to be basically indestructible and they pride themselves on craftsmanship. They could have been a defect since no one else had a problem. They are a beautiful boot no doubt and I did enjoy wearing them for the 3 hours I had them on! If I find them on sale again I might try another pair.

Also disappointed... I was also significantly disappointed by these boots, especially considering what I paid for them. From the pictures they seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, but I found them VERY heavy and clunky, and the heel much higher than I expected. I'm usually an 8.5-9; I got an 8 and they were still very clunky and wide. The leather was very stiff and had a waxy appearance. I ended up wearing them only a few times and then giving them to Goodwill :-( - a hard/expensive lesson learned. It seems that the older reviews for these boots are more positive... perhaps quality control has gone down at Frye of lately?

Looks lovely, but heel seam ripped after 6 weeks! These boots look really great, but after wearing them only about 10 times or so to work, the leather just below the heel stitching ripped! It also looks like the seam on the other boot may rip, too. This seems to be a common problem with this style. So sad - they look lovely & are comfy. Not sure if I'll try this style again - too expensive to rip only 6 weeks into owning them.

A HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT - A bought these boots because I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. I immediately began planning my outfits around them, and got tons of compliments on them. However, after wearing them about 5 times, the right heel seam split open, and the left one began to rip open as well. For the price of these boots, and the reputation Frye boots have, I was absolutely shocked. I returned them for a refund VERY disheartened. Also, I tried to call Frye boots and left a message in their customer service department. It's been over a month and no one has called me back. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever buy a pair of Frye boots again. They really should have recalled this style, as numerous people seem to have had the same issue with the heels seams (they're still selling them on their site). Don't waste your money on these boots.
