Disappointed -
I had previously bought a pair of the Newport H2's and loved them but after a year of wear and tear (including hiking the Grand Canyon) I desperately needed a new pair. I ordered the same style & size but they were too small, when I ordered another size up the mold of the sole hurt my toes. I was surely disappointed.

Heavier than expected -
They look good and feel pretty good but are heavier than expected and pinchy around my pinky toe. Perhaps a half size larger would be better. Great colors.

"These shoes suck!"
Thus saith my friend, quoted out of context, for a catchy title.
I really do LOVE these shoes. Ditto with regards to what everyone has enthusiastically said, except in one area: smooth, wet, river granite boulders and river rock.
I have to agree completely with my outspoken friend, who bought a pair of H2's on my recommendation! In fact, I talked four people into buying them because I really enjoyed their fit (I have a supremely narrow foot), their comfort in walking and standing for hours on end, their PROTECTION of the toes which I always scrape up on rocks.
I had been told, and now read, that these shoes are tops in water and had great traction on smoothie, wet surfaces (go back and read the "details" about these guys), but when we went "scrambling" in the Big Sur River, my friend and I were slipping and sliding all over the place while our friends, wearing their Chacos, had plenty of traction over wet, slick boulders and river bed rocks.
So, they don't slip in my bathtub, but they were worse than worthless in the BSR. Maybe they work great on rough, wet rock or lava or coral or boat decks...but I'll be sure to take my Chacos along in case they don't.

Not as comfortable as I had hoped.
Overall, I am pleased with the shoes. I was not looking for an attractive shoe, but one which was good for hot weather hiking and able to go into the water. Unfortunately, they are not as comfortable or soft as air as they were touted to be. They chafe my little toe on my right foot, but I'm hoping with time the will soften up and get more comfortable. I am wearing them camping this weekend, which was the original reason for my purchase and have worn them twice to break them in, but not too happy.

Purchased the Newport H2 for a trip to Europe. Wanted to take only one all-purpose shoe. The shoe is great for hiking and walking in cooler weather but once the weather got hot, my feet sweat very badly and caused blisters. Would not recommend for Mediterranean warm climate.

Mixed bag.
These shoes are very comfortable, but I found they were made my feet too hot...they're just not "sandal-y" enough for my needs. The footbed is very comfortable though...so much so that I plan on ordering a pair of their shoes. They're not pretty shoes, but they're funky, which is why I gave them four stars in the look department.
Incidentally, my husband has these shoes (the men's version, obviously) and he adores them.
I have some other Keen shoes and I love them. These sandals just weren't for me.

Don't Buy for Boating -
I love these sandals. They're comfortable, and I wore them all summer. But one of the reasons I bought them was to wear them when boating. Contrary to what the description says, they WILL leave black marks all over your boat. I was a little disappointed since I paid more than I would have normally, and can't use them for something they are designed for.

These shoes are very comfortable -- the toe bumper is great, and they have great support, though they are a little hotter than I expected. But they are ugly. (Someone described them as 'clown shoes'.) The front of the shoe is so wide; if you have narrow feet and/or skinny legs, they look pretty strange.

Some of the best shoes I've gotten in a LONG time!
Our fashion Diva at work turned me on to these beauties, and am I ever grateful to her! The felt great from the time I put them on and I have more people asking me about them. I'm even going to get another couple pairs I like them so much!! I have perwinkle now and can't wait to get the navy ones. They fit great, feel great and look great! I have horses and usually all I wear are boots or shoes for riding, but even these babies fit into the sturrips and off we went! Looking good!

Something has changed in the way Keen has made their shoes. The sizes are running much smaller and the arch support has moved closer to the ball of the foot so it is awkwardly in the wrong place. I even tried going up a size to correct the placement and it just didn't work. Still in same spot. So disappointed as I have had a pair of these for years now and the last two I have purchased have been this way. This used to be my favorite shoe and I recommended to everyone.

I was so sad. This is not the first pair of these I have owned. When my latest pair died due to age and extensive use, I ordered a replacement. The length was fine, but now they are made extremely narrow. I have an average foot width. But these left marks on my feet because they were so tight. The elastic might stretch with time. But not worth the risk of foot damage to me. I was so disappointed. Why has the design of the shoe been changed?? I loved, loved these shoes as they used to be made. They have to go back.

Keens has changed and I don't care for it. These are too mushy and have a weird higher heel that I hate on my feet. They feel like rubber tires on my feet.

I have owned many pairs of Keen shoes, I have always wore a size 8 1/2 (B) but upon getting these new Keen H2 shoes they look alot smaller & narrower than my other 3 pairs of H2 Keens I have owned! I even called the Keen Copany and asked if they are manufacturing them in a different place? I told them my problem & she told me to order a 1/2 size up & go to a size 9. Very disappointed will try that ad leave another review later. I know they are probably being in China like the rest of everything people buy anymore.

Very disappointed in Keens -I could barely scootch the short heel strap over back of my heel-shoes look military grade but are so short & tight-no wiggle room -I think I am ready to give up on Keens-their leather Clearwater sandals were my quick go-to sandals for darting out .

Not sure what’s up with Keen, but they’ve changed the way they make their shoes. I used to LOVE Keens, not any more. They are cheaply made and fit poorly

I wanted to like these but they were too tight (all my keens are a 7.5) and had absolutely no arch support. Since they are open, using my orthotics were not an option.

I really wanted to like these sandals; I loved the design, colors, and the brand reputation. However, they were very difficult to put on; the rubber was very tight. Even after getting a half-size larger, there were still points on the sandals that just rubbed certain areas of my feet and made them very uncomfortable to wear.

These are 'cool' active shoes. I really liked them but I have very sensitive feet and the strap around the heel made my heel sensitive at first and pushed my foot forward so my toes touched the front slightly. I wore them around the house for 2 days to try to adjust to them. The heel strap felt better but they were stiff for me. I really wanted these shoes to work and they will for most people. Sorry to have to return them.

I ordered three pairs of Keens to try them out. These shoes were the biggest disappointment of the bunch! All three pair of Keens were the same size; but these felt short and definitely run more narrow than the other two. In my opinion, these shoes are clearly not worth the price. They are a return, for sure.

First off, I do love my Keens, they are very comfortable. Unlike other reviewers, I usually take a 7.5 or 8, and a 7.5 worked great for me. My gripe is with the quality. I do wear mine often, and within 3 months the stitching around the back (near the Keen name) came undone, and the material is deteriorating. I contacted Keen through their warranty link on their website, and they have given me complete credit for purchasing any new pair of Keens (a good value). So, kudos to Keen. I can keep the current pair too. So, I took my Newports (H2)down to a local store that does repairs, and they restitched them for me. There is nothing they can do about the inside material without making them uncomfortable for my foot, but at least they will last a little while longer. So, my quest now is to figure out which shoe to order from Keen. But, I am impressed with them in standing behind their product. Hopefully, they will fix the quality issue for these sandals in the future.

No arch support (I was at least expecting better arch support than my flip flops being that this shoes was rated excellent arch). I love the look and style, but no arch support made my feet ache. Hike up the arch and I would love to buy the improved pair. Thank you Zappos for free shipping and returns!

little toe was not taken into consideration!
This is a problem only on the left shoe, which is constructed differently than the right! There is a too-large gap between the two straps closest to the little toe. The gap is large enough so that the little toe hits the first strap, closest to the toe, just at the wrong place. It is neither under the strap or clear of it! It constantly rubs against this strap at the level of the edge of the toenail. I can wear these sandals, but only if I wear socks! Too bad!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Well, after waiting almost 2 years for Keen to finally make the divinely comfortable Newport H2 in my beloved celery green, I am so sad and disappointed to find that they are so painful and impossible to wear!
What happened?
My other Newport H2's are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I live in them even though the color was not my favorite.
My original Keens were size 10 and fit perfectly.
I had found when I ordered them in black that they were too small and could not find them larger at the time.
So, I ordered the Kiwi color in 10.5 but they kill me.
I am not sure if they're still too small even though a half size larger than i had before, or if the entire shoe is different.
I get cramps in my toes and the bottom of my foot also hurts.
The cushioning doesn't seem to have as much support.
I just don't understand why something so perfect had to be changed and ruined in my opinion.
Perhaps I should try a larger size.
Hopefully, that will solve the dilemma but I recommend to anyone else buying them, that they do so.
Overall, I love the shoe and adore the color and hope the size discretion gets resolved.
Thanks.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOE ON SMOOTH SURFACES. I was slipping on smooth bathroom flooring and smooth rocks. Zappos wouldn't take this shoe back and neither would Keen since it wasn't purchased directly from them.

This was my first try at Keen sandals. I am not hard to fit or please, but I just couldn’t get my foot into the opening to even try the shoes on. I had recently bought a pair of Keen sandals for my husband that wears Crocs and he couldn’t get his foot into them either. After I tried them on for myself, I loved how they felt, so I ordered a pair in my size. Well, sure enough, I had the same problem my husband had getting his foot into the sandal. I have skinny legs and ankles, but I just couldn’t get my little foot into the allowed opening. We live in Florida and I wear sandals 90% of the time and I wanted the Keens style because I do a lot of yard work and thought the extra toe protection and stabilize would be helpful, but unfortunately, they just didn’t fit. I was saddened and disappointed.
