Longtime Keen devotee: These sandals have better arch support than they used to, but seem to run smaller. I usually wear an 8 in this style, but my toes feel squished, so it's exchange time. Other than that, Keen is Keen!

I wanted these cute, great color, closed toe sandals to work for me. Alas, they did not because they made my bunion hurt. Also they were heavy in weight. I returned them.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Wow. I bought these to replace a pair that I stupidly left behind on my last vacation. Those were size 9.5 but they were also 14 years old (and still going strong!) Reading the comments about how the new Keens are running smaller, I ordered a 10. As soon as I took them out of the box, I was sure that they had accidentally sent me size 8 or 8.5. They were so small. But I double checked and they are marked size 10. I could barely get them on. My feet were completely crushed in them. I'm going to try again but I think I need an 11!!!! That's 1.5 sizes bigger than I usually wear--even in Keen. I'm a little concerned about how the arch will fit in this size but hopefully it will work. That said, they are great shoes if you can get the fit.

I also remember the older Newport sandals, like other reviewers, which were unbelievably perfect. But the past 3-4 years they have changed so much in quality and comfort - for the worst. The footbed isn't cushy like before, it's firm and thinner underfoot and The arch had diminished. The upper shape has become quite a bit narrower, too. There overall sizing is off, I had to try 1 to 1.5 sizes larger to fit my usual size 7. At least the upper material is still real good and the rubber outsole. So sad for me to have to return them, because these used to be a real fun all-day sandal.

Well, last time I try giving the Newport H2 another chance! For several years, this sandal has gone waaay downhill in comfort. Keen has taken out lots of the cushy, thicker footbed and made them narrower. I had to try a full size larger to get the length right, but they were still barely wide enough. They feel rather hard and not resilient anymore. I pretty much only felt the rubber outsole under my feet. I've always lived this style & versatility, but no more.

Part of the problem is that I have peripheral neuropathy and my foot tended to hit the top of the shoes and slide around.

I have two other pairs of Keen Newports in 7.5 and this particular pair is smaller by far. I stated 1/2 size smaller in my review, but it might even be a full size. My other pairs still fit the same way so I don't know what else to do other than return them and possibly exchange.

Size 38 from 2025 is ½ size smaller than size 38 2019--go figure. Same shoe. Same company.

Keen is supposedly known for a wide toe box, especially in the Newport. The other reviewers were correct that the Newport H2 does not follow the pattern. The toe box was uncomfortably tight. The heel fit was great, with the strap placed correctly and my heel sitting properly in the heel cup. I loved the color. But with an uncomfortable fit and major difficulty getting the shoe on, this sandal was not a success for me.

Unfortunately, I returned the item because the box was mislabeled with the wrong shoe size. I ordered a women’s size 6.5, which was on the shoe box label, but the shoes were size 5.5. I’ve owned this style in the past, and love them for their comfort, fit, and durability, and while the shoes that I did receive would have been perfect, I can only give this product 3 stars due to lack of quality control in the packaging of the item.

Another pair of this model, in another color, fit great and I wear them all the time. 2nd pair in all black - way too narrow and I cannot wear them at all. Go figure.

The new Newports are flatter with not as much height for my feet. I'll be returning these and saying goodbye to this old faithful style.

I usually wear a 7.5 in shoes, occasionally an 8 if they run small. I ordered these in an 8 and they are a touch short and narrow in the toe box. I like them, but I decided to return instead of ordering up because the size 9 would probably be too long, and they are slightly more heavy-duty than I would like.

These rubbed and squeezed my left little toe so they’re going back. They appeared to have no differential compared how they are pictured. They look nice and were otherwise comfortable. No discernible arch support.

Was disappointed that the top strap on the left sandal did not match the other sandal, was a bit out of line, but I am keeping them, as I am very happy generally with the Keen sandals.

I was devastated to see how the fit on this style has changed over the years. I compared the new shoes to pairs of Newport H2 I've owned and loved for years, and discovered that the height of the crown (don't know if that is the correct term) has been shortened by about an inch and possibly more. While they are the same width and length as the old days, the part of the shoe that fits OVER the foot has been shortened so there is considerably less room for the foot inside the shoe. This is with the elastic straps released the entire way. It's the fabric (or whatever in waterproof shoes) that is shorter than before. Same with the heel strap. I don't. know why Keen would do this to an existing style. Perhaps folks complained that the fit was too loose and couldn't be tightened enough with the elastic cord? Is quality control at the factory level a problem these days? Is this fit problem the reason this style is on sale now?
