The shoes are awesome. I wore them for the first time the other day with a pair of jeans - next month with a tuxedo!

My husband needed new shoes to wear with his tuxedo. Normally, he is pretty conservative when it comes to clothes and shoes. But...I took a chance and order these for him. He LOVES them. He says they are incredibly comfortable. To my surprise he actually likes the clean, less fussy more modern look. In fact, he likes these shoes so much and they are so well made and rich looking that he wears them on occasion with his business suits. Kudos to Zappos for carrying such a great selection, and the extra quick FREE service. (They arrived in two days!)

Favorite dress shoes - They are simply gorgeous. I was shocked by how comfortable they are. The "breaking in" period is less than a day. Unfortunately, you need to be careful with them since they scuff easily and the top will warp if you don't use a tree.

Pliner Rex - They definitley fit a half size large. They are extremely comfortable and sharp looking. Have yet to wear them without getting compliments

A shoe for great comfort - I bought this shoe in Charleston, s.c. and the wear is great. I will buy another pair. I love the feel of the soft leather and it looks great on my feet. I get complimants all the time. I recommend this shoe highly. I am a shoe lover. Charleston Connection

They are all I hoped they'd be - I got these shoes today...they look great...fit fine....and they are extreemly stylish. They came sooner than expected because they gave me prority shipping as a first time buyer, I'll order more...and soon. Thanks for the great shoes...and great service.

The Rex is fantastic - This is one of the most elegant dress shoes I have ever worn. The Nappa is buttery soft and has a natural sheen that can be polished to a shine. It will look great with a suit every day--conservative enough for certain professions but edgy enough to portray a modern styling. It represents a balance that I have not found elsewhere. The shoe is also extremely comfortable, fitted correctly. Regarding my experience with Zappos, I cannot overemphasize my high regard for this firm. They were diligent in working with my requests and quickly fixed a sizing issue. I would rate them among the best online service providers that I have encountered.

One Spectacular Shoe - The fit is superb, the shoe exquisitely manufactured, and the look is fantastic. I purchased the shoe to wear with my dinner jacket - I certainly didn't expect all the compliments. So, thank you very much.

Comfort and Style - This is one of the most comfortable dress shoe I have ever purchased. You can walk all day in this shoe and your feet will feel wonderful. The clean styling is also very appealing.

Poor durability - This is a nice looking shoe. It's just not an everyday shoe. It's leather is very soft, and therefore vulnerable to everything. The second time I wore these, my desk took a chuck of leather off of the right outside toe. Be very careful when wearing these. Not really worth the price.

Over the past 10 years this is my 3rd pair of the Rex. Soft, comfortable, true to size. Absolutely bullet proof in terms of wear and durability. Not cheap but worth the cost of you want a shoe that’s going to look like the day you purchased after 4 years wearing several times per month.

I have had these shoes for years - probably before I knew about (or at least before I shopped via) Zappos (I purchased these locally). All things considered (value, style, versatility, durability/longevity, etc.) they are the best dress shoes I've ever owned. I honestly can't say how many years I've owned them (long enough to have replaced the heel at least once), but they leather upper still looks brand new (and I am very rough on shoes). My neighbor even commented on how much he liked my shoes yesterday (prompting me to look them up here for him & posting this review). I would definitely purchase these shoes again and am currently interested in finding a boot equivalent that will allow me to wear thick warm socks in the winter

This is my second pair of Donald Pliner slip-ons, and I'm very happy with both pairs, for the style, versatility and comfort. They've been great for a night on the town including dancing, and equally good for rounding in the hospital where I work as a physician. they also work with a pair of nice jeans. the leather is supple and the outsole provides a surprising amount of cushioning for a dress shoe. I'm giving 4 stars for comfort because the back of the shoe which is a bit narrow and stiff, caused a painful rash until it was broken in, which took a few days.

This is the fifth pair of Donald J. Pliner "Rex" shoes that my husband owns and I bought these to go with his jeans and to give him a more casual look. He absolutely loves this shoe and the other four pairs as well.

One of the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. Very versatile appearance. They look great with regular fit and straight leg jeans.

First thing I noticed was how supportive the shoe felt, very rigid and sturdy feeling. My pinky toe gets a little smashed, but the leather has stretched out a bit to accommodate. The biggest problem is that after only a few months of light wear (wear to the office maybe 2 days of the week) the bottom of the sole peeling off from the heel. I couldn't believe a shoe at this price was pulling apart at the most used part of the shoe. My guess was from sitting at my desk chair with my shoe resting on the heel and sliding on the carpet. But seriously, this should not happen!
