One of my favorites - This shoe is one of my favorite shoes I own. As a result I own both colors available. It's the perfect shoe to dress up my jeans. I have found very few occasions when I can't wear them. Excellent feel on and the look is classic and timeless.

Good looks & comfort, runs small - Very good looking high-quality construction shoe with decent comfort. I typically take an 8.5 but ended up with a 9 wide - even then slightly narrow. The soles are a dense foam-like rubber.

Tight Fit but Great Shoe - Yes, just as many others have said it seems as if the sizes run on the small side. The Zappos return policy was great as I ordered my normal size and had to upgrade by a half size. I would have rated them higher but they are still breaking in. They will be fine though. The shoes are really great. I have gotten compliments on them from a few friends. They look good as a dress shoe and as a casual shoe. Try them you will like them!

My Review- A bit stiff on the sides of the shoe, but I walked around all day and found the shoes very comfortable.

First Time Buyer - Being a first time buyer in mail order shoes I was assured by the comments of some other customers. And I am pleased with shoes and the way they fit my narrow foot. I recommend Zappos and will purchase again from them in the future.

Too soon to know about durability. It is my daily work wear--goes with jacket and tie, or with casual. Appears to embody best workmanship, which is important to me.

Gallatin revue - This is my fifth pair of H.S. Trask shoes since around 1998. Trask makes a long wearing shoe, although the overall quality of the shoe has diminished over the years. These shoes are not quite as comfortable as 5 years ago but do represent a tremendous overall value for someone looking for a long wearing shoe.

Couldn't make it work - Let me start by saying I really wanted to make these shoes work. I bought two pairs with the intent of returning one back if the shoes were too small. (I had read that this shoe runs small, which I think is true.) The things I did like about the shoe were that the leather seemed substantial and the style didn't look overly rugged once I put them on. I liked the distinctive color and nature of the buffalo leather. Unfortunately, the shoe immediately started grabbing me in the heel in my Achilles tendon area, and I knew that I would get a blister in the process. I perhaps thought that I could break it in; however, I'd already had less-than-successful results with other shoes with similar problems. In the end, I decided that if I were to pay that much money for the shoe, it really needed to fit better (like my present pair of Clarks).

Shoe Review- I like the shoe. It runs small, though. I first ordered 8.5 and returned it for a 9 medium. It is still a bit narrow. I might need to get it stretched. The shoe takes awhile to break in. Band-Aids on my heel and under my ankle were a necessity. But the more I wear it the more comfortable it gets.
