gotta love this shoe - I've now owned this model 3x and worn them out each time. It is fabulous and always a good fit!! New Balance is such a great company...yield to the warnings and order 1/2 a sz up...I don't know why, but it works w/this shoe

Great shoe at risk of discontinuation - This has been a great shoe, indoors and out. It provides excellent support and stability. The wider toebox is perfect for the shape of my foot. I can only hope NewBalance does not discontinue it, a fear I have since my retail store did not find it in their catalogue for spring.

New Balance 801- extremely cushioned and comfortable - These sneakers are literally the most comfortable ones I have ever owned.I am a big fan of New Balance for running and cross- training and usually purchase even more expensive styles, so was hesitant to try these. However, they fit well and have great " bounce". I think they are cute too, and have already received many compliments. I would like to add that Zappos.com is very professional and user- friendly as well- this is the first time I have ever used the site, came upon it by accident really- and I am extremely pleased and will be sure to recommend.

These remain my favorite work out shoes - This is my third pair of New Balance trail runners and I love them. Very comfortable. No need for break-in really. Even though it's always recommended to go up a half size, I wear a 7M and ordered that size and they fit perfectly. Highly recommend :-)

Offers the Protection I needed for Walking on Hard Floor - These shoes saved me from daily foot pain when my workplace moved to a new location with more walking and very hard floors. I had walking shoes, but these are much more cushiony on the tile. The sole is firm and I can't feel the floor through it. The color and style look crisp and neat as I some times have to wear them with business clothes. The black at the toe makes my large size look a bit smaller. I have very flat "problem feet." As my feet have gotten flatter, they have gotten wider, so I always look to New Balance for good fit. I have worn prescription foot orthotics for years, the wide width helps to accomodate them and New Balance insoles lift out to make room for my orthotics.

I've looked for this shoe forever--it is the one that made New Balance my only athletic shoe brand when it was first made available for purchase. It fits just as all other New Balance shoes seem to fit me--it seems to feel one half size smaller than my other shoes. I appreciate that New Balance offers narrow shoes in so many styles.

My third pair of 801's - Best all around walking, hiking, running shoe I've found. I just ordered my third pair.

Great Sneakers! I love these sneakers! They are very comfortable, both for running and casual wear. Also, they have a great classic look!

Sizing is not easy - I have a hard time buying shoes online because my size is different in every shoe. I am always between a 9 and a 10. I think I am a true 9 1/2-but after reading all the reviews here I ordered a size 10 (everyone seemed to say the shoes run small). I did not find this to be the case. The size 10's were too big and I just had to order a 9 1/2. My feet are medium width (and definitely much wider at the top of my foot - so these shoes are ideal).

Does run short - My most comfortable shoe so far has been the New Balance 852 (discontinued long ago), even though I have a high arch and don't usually need motion control. I bought the W801 trail shoe to get better traction on gravel and hiking trails. Usually I wore a size 10, but I agree with other reviewers that the W801 runs short; I had to return size 10 and get 10.5. They seem OK, though not quite as comfortable as the 832; toe is roomy in size 10.5 but the arch support doesn't seem as good.

Zappos makes it easy- Shopping for running shoes is never easy never mind via online, Zappos could not make this easier. I will continue to use this site and wish more online shopping sites were this great. Thank you.

Comfy with an insert - Shoes had a solid fit for me (wearing a 12D, wear a 10.5D in men's). If you're a bit heavyset as I am, I recommend getting a nice pair of inserts to replace the New Balance stock. Made a bit of a difference in comfort level. Outside of that, they've felt pretty good, but I've only had them for 2 weeks...

I loved that this style came back! So I jumped at purchasing this shoe... I wear a 7.5 I bought a 7.5; but was thinking about purchasing an 8, due to other reviews...everything was great except for the width...one of my lil toes was feeling pinched...I didn't think I had a wide foot until this shoe...so BEWARE...great looking though!

New Balance w 801 - I really like these sneakers, they are comfortable, and they seem like they will hold up for a while, unlike many other shoes I have purchased in the past.

Can't go wrong with NB - Very happy with my new NB. Be sure to order a half size larger then you wear. Classy looking shoe that needs no break in time. The best part of this shoe? It stays tied!!

New Balance W 801 - This is the third time I've purchased this model shoe. A bit heavy for long distance runs, but made to last and extrememly comfortable! A great running shoe for spring, fall and winter here on the east coast.

Comfy - Nice fitting--a little rubbing around the tongue and heel keep it from being a 5 star; also, a little slippery on wet terrain, but overall I am pleased!

Going for number three - So, they are nice shoes, they gave me blisters on my heels at first, but wore in fine. I have put a ridiculous amount of miles on my first two pairs, and now I'm buying a third.

Shoes run a 1/2 size too small - I have used NB shoes for years, these run a 1/2 size too small, but the shoes were nice. I wear size 8.5, but these crammed my toes right to the end, so I returned for a size 9.

Boo's shoe review - These seem like a men's clunky shoe re-named and sold for women. I love New Balance but this style is stiff. I've had at least 5 other New Balance shoes without a problem but this one just isn't quite right. I even got a blister walking around the other day! I NEVER get blisters. The toe box is roomy, the arch seemed fine, the shoe seemed long to me, the back digs into my heel and the upper ball of my foot is not comfy (and where I got the blister). Wish these worked but you can't win them all.

It might have been a good shoe... I wear a size 11 in most shoes, and consistently in New Balance sneakers, but on this shoe, my poor toe was practically pushing out the end of the shoe. Felt comfortable otherwise, but I don't have the time or desire to deal with shipping back and forth to get the right size, so I'll be doing in-person shopping.

Ouch! These shoes seem to be a little stiff. I took a long walk (approx. 4 miles on concrete sidewalks) this afternoon and now my feet hurt - which isn't what I expected since I've walked without pain in other New Balance shoes. Otherwise, there's lots of toe room which is a plus.

Good trail shoe - I like the fit of this shoe (I order 1 size bigger than I order Reeboks) and its stability on rocky terrain. It's definitely good for the under-pronater. I wish it had more cushioning, and I supplement it with a sports insert.

Great look, but somewhat uncomfortable - I've always loved New Balance even though they run a little wide. The shoe looks great, but I just couldn't seem to find the right size. One size was a little too big and the other was too small. I finally settled with the slightly larger size and even then the stiching by my toes hurts if I don't have a thick enough sock on. Overall, I like the shoe but I don't think that I would buy another pair. I think I'll stick to the NB Classic style.
