Like many people looking at this shoe I have wide 4E feet. New Balance/Dunham has been a go-to, so I've been said to see them cutting back on their support for those with wide feet (just look at reviews for other NB shoes since 2010). I really wanted to like the Windsor, but am now regretting my choice due to shape and due to materials. The shoe *looks* quite wide -- bulky even -- and felt *mostly* wide when I tried it. But, they are digging in painfully to both of my outer 'pinkie' toes. Comparing to some older NBs and Rockports that fit me well, here's what I noticed about the Windsor: the Windsor is wider at the toe and at the heel, but critically, it's a bit narrower through the mid-front, like at the first lace. So it's more of a straight last, less sculpted than the famous SL-2 / MOL-2 lasts used to be. Second, the shoe curves too far inward. On most shoes each toe is slightly "in" from the heel, i.e., curving a bit towards the big toe. The Windsors curve in a LOT. They also slope in on the "out" side. That means they are very roomy around my big toes, almost too roomy, but that odd shape explains why they are giving me pinkie blisters. If you have a giant big toe but small/thin pinkie side of your foot maybe they'll work. The leather is also not very forgiving. Hopefully it'll loosen up, but in four weeks it's stayed stiff -- makes the pinkie toe problem worse, and the edges of the shoe are sort of digging into my ankle as I walk too. The concept is just right for me -- motion control, somewhat off-road capable, waterproof, but not too 'athletic' looking. I've settled on Rockport World Tour Elite instead for fit, but the Rocks aren't waterproof (not even tounge gussets). The Dunham Outlook looks like a more normal fit, but it's much more expensive despite having fewer features.

I have extremely wide feet and have a terrible time finding well fitting shoes, so when I put on these 6E's I was pretty excited. They actually felt comfortable width and length wise. But as I sat for a while with them on, I started to feel discomfort from the tongue of the right shoe pressing against the front of my ankle, to the degree that it actually hurt. I guess it's too stiff or too long or I just have an odd foot. My left foot was fine. I really had my hopes up on a nice, comfortable pair of shoes, but I had to return them. I plan to get the mid-cut boot version as I need a pair of boots too and figure it won't have the same problem, but I was really hoping for a comfortable non-boot version.

These shoes are good looking but ran narrower than marked making them a little tight. I have not yet decided if I will keep them. Not everyone wears a 6E.

I have worn a 13 wide in all shoes for years with no problems. I immediately had to exchange the Dunhams' for a 14 wide. The left shoe is tolerable but the right toebox is too small and the tongue is too long. I should have returned them and stuck with my old brand but I wanted the waterproof feature.

This is the second pair of Dunham shoes I have purchased from Zappos, one pair of Windsor Bicycle Toes and this pair of Windsors. The right shoe of the first pair began squeaking about 6 weeks after I started wearing them. I did some research and found that this was not uncommon. Zappos allowed me to return them and I bought a pair of Windsors to replace them. The right shoe of the second pair has now begun to squeak exactly as the first shoes did. Both pair of shoes have the same sole. One of the guys at work also had a pair of Bicycle Toes with the same squeaking noise. I purchased New Balance sport insoles which did make these shoes much more comfortable than the insoles that came with the shoes. I will be returning this pair also. Based on my experience with both pairs of these shoes I would not recommend them. I will be trying another pair of Dunhams with a different sole.

Stiff- there are better choices- The wonderful thing about Zappos is the variety of shoes and choices. I thought these shoes would be excellent based on the reviews here, but I have found far better options. These shoes lack the shock absorbing qualities of some other Zappos shoes I've worn. I recommend the Rockport World Tour Classic or the Echo Flexor. The Flexor is a fantastic shoe, but it is more expensive and perhaps too casual for some. Bottom line, this is a decent shoe, but far stiffer than some others.

I originally returned this shoe because the collar around the ankle was about a quarter inch too high, making my ankle sore on the outer side. This was the only flaw, The shoe was very comfortable, otherwise, had a generous toe box, looked great. I wear size 15 and found that size too short; I returned those for size 16 and found the length to be perfect. I now wear orthotics, so I am going to give it another try. With the orthotics, my foot is lifted slightly with a lot of arch support and may not have the previous issue.

The sides were so stiff that they caused me to get blisters. I tried wearing them several times around my house, but in a matter of a few minutes my ankles were hurting. They need more cushion around the top of the shoe, or just less support. I had to return them and get a different shoe. I ended up getting the Rockport which looked a lot like this shoe, how ever I liked that Dunham has a fiberglass shank and not a metal shank, as it would be warmer in winter time. Wearability won out and I love my Rockports, buy would have rather had the Dunham's

Great shoes. A bit orthopedic looking, but felt great.. Only problem is that one shoe developed a loud squeak with every step no matter rug or hard surface. I hope Zappos will take them back. Otherwise they will have to be donated.

These shoes were bought for use in a restaurant kitchen as they were supposed to be non slip. They are so dangerous that my son fell and got hurt the very first day he wore them! The comfort is definitely there but we would not recommend these for any hard surface! Please consider this before you buy and shame on Dunham for the product description!

These are not the same quality. I have purchased these shoes in the past with the only problem being wearing out the heel tab, and exposing hard plastic. With recent purchases the left inside shoe fabric came loose at a seam and the area where the tongue was stitched on the left side is very rough causing discomfort.

Walk Pigeon Toed - Another pair of shoes for the closet, most likely never to be worn. I have wide feet, so I ordered these in a 6 Wide. Width seemed OK and size seemed about 1/2 size smaller than stated. That was not the problem. The design of the sole forced my feet to walk with the toes @ about 30 degrees out from center. In other words pigeon toed. I wore these shoes at work from 7 AM - 11 AM each day for two weeks to see if I could adjust. I could never get past 11 AM without my knees and calves hurting so bad that I had to change shoes. I finally gave up. I wished that I could return them, but having worn them so long, I doubt if that would be possible. On a positive note, Zappos is a super on line seller. I'd rate them as one of the best. They upgraded my shipping for free and have excellent communications about orders.

Dunham Windsor - I've renamed it Dunham "Loser". I have narrow feet, ordered it in 12N. This "narrow" fits wider than most D width shoes I've owned. I couldn't lace them tight enough. The bottom of the insert has "arch support" stamped on it. What arch support?! The ugliest shoe I've ever owned. I wore them 2 wks. and threw away.

This is another great quality shoe! I ended up getting the same shoe but in the 4E width instead. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for comfort was because the 2E just didn't give me the width I need.
