Loved the look, ruggedenss, and warmth of the boot -- especially in the gray/black combo. However the leather upper on the left boot pinched me above the ankle, could not find the right fit (7 too small and 8 too big), and no arch support (could have dealt with the latter if there weren't the former
two issues.

The boots are very warm, but I can barely walk in them because they're so stiff. The soles don't bend!

These boots are huge. They were so big it looked like I had cartoon feet. If you plan on being in a blizzard, buy them. If you plan on wearing them for everyday winter, beware - they are hilariously big. I laughed when I pulled them out of the package. It would take me ten minutes to get up or down one flight of stairs. That's all.

This is my second time ordering a Sorel boot and I haven't had any luck. Sorel runs really big in length and width. I am normally a true size 10 and I have a lot in room in my boot. I wouldn't go down a whole size though because I may want to wear a thick sock. The boot looks like it will do the trick to tackle Chicago winters but I am not sure if it is feminine enough. The style is very bulky and makes my foot look huge. I just got them today and I haven't worn them yet so I may return them. I'm disappointed because I want to like them.

They don't make Sorel boots like they used to. I have an older (4 years) pair of Sorel Caribou boots that are wonderful, but I simply wanted another color. The new pair of Caribous I recently ordered, lasted one day before the neoprene tongue ripped out. I compared the two boots and discovered Sorel does not sew the neoprene into the shaft like they used to. On the older pair, the neoprene had what looks like a basting tape around the edge, the new ones are raw neoprene edges sewn onto wool with a single slip stitch, which does not make a whole lot of sense. I hope this boot was defective, but since I did not receive a response letting me know if it was or not, I am assuming it is otherwise, and therefore, I came to the conclusion, the quality of Sorel boots aren't what they used to be.

I'm 'Sorel' sorry.
The boots felt fine when I first tried them on, but once I put them to use, I found that the right boot is actually painful to wear. It is digging into my ankle and is not improved with heavy socks. The left boot is great and has plenty of room for my wide foot and bunion. Wish I would have walked around in them longer in the house first before taking them hiking. I would have returned them and tried a different pair.

Huge!!
I was looking for a winter boot that would keep my feet warm and dry in cold winter months and snow. The boot looked fashionable. However, when I received them they were huge and looked more like a man's boot. Good style but huge! And I wear a size 7.

So big -
These are very heavy and made my feet look enormous, even though they felt a little short (but wide) inside. It must be all the insulation. I was also told that their bulk may make them difficult to drive in. The Cumberlands have a somewhat daintier appearance and were more comfortable, so I went with those.

Boots look good but run a size small.
They are very good looking for utilitarian boots, but they run a size too small and are very heavy in weight, so would not be comfortable to walk long distances.

I want different boots. Theyre waterproof, ok. . They’re warm, fine. But they poke me in the shin. Also, I just hate to put them on.. They’re so heavy. It feels like I’m stripping cinderblocks on my feet. I’m always trying to find a reason NOT to wear them.

These shoes are very stiff. I've worn them multiple times hoping they would loosen up, but they haven't so my ankles hurt when I wear them. There is ZERO arch support which I thought wouldn't be a big deal since I have flat feet, but it does cause discomfort. I really wish I could return them since they were so pricey and I don't like them, but I've worn them outside multiple times already so I'm past the point of being able to return them. They aren't awful if worn for a short period of time, but if you'll be moving for more than 5 minutes, they're terrible.

I purchased these while my friend purchased them in the nylon version in the same size. These were much wider and less flattering. Very warm but very wide, could easily be a men's boot.

Boots look nice, but do not keep the feet warm. Pretty disappointed overall. Had them for 2 years and can't be outside for more than 10 minutes with them. Temp sits single digits to 30F

I wear a 7w (platypus feet). tried these in a 7.5 and an 8 with heavy socks. They squeezed my toes and were even painful just to try on. Obviously if they hurt when I try them on, they’re not going to get better.
Too bad. I hear these are the best. But I won’t get to try them in the snow.

I used your fit guide and rather than sizing down I ordered exact size as I like to wear heavy socks. My foot measurement was 11 so based on your guide I should have ordered 10.5. I ordered 11 and really wished I had ordered a 11.5. The 11 works with athletic socks but now way would they fit with heavy socks. I have yet to wear them as our winter is really mild.

Stunned with the quality of these boots. I have only ever gotten sorel shoes living in the Midwest and these feel cheap, sound cheap and are quite uncomfortable. The way the shoe is designed dogs into my Achilles and make it really tough to walk longer distances.

Fit was a tad smaller for size 11 foot; making wearing thicker thermal socks slightly uncomfortable. Very heavy boot as well; so made for not so easy treking. style ok-not as flattering once it got to size 11 in my opinion

I bought the Caribou in gray about 9 years ago and only have worn them maybe 10 times. I live in Minnesota, so I thought these would be great to wear during the winter. The reason I don't use them as often as I would love to, is because they are too dang difficult to get on and off my feet. The felt liner is snug, yes I understand that, but the problem is the actual boot itself. The opening is too small and the material is too stiff. It almost feels as if I might break my ankles trying to get the boots onto my feet. Once I do, they are heavy and clunky, which is great for slushy ice walks. But if you plan to be driving or doing a lot of walking, maybe try something else. I really wished these would have worked out in my favor, but I'll be searching for something more easy to wear.
Disappointed I,

Husband bought this boot round a year ago, works outside shoveling and plowing, and after just a few months of wear, the sole of one boot separated from the boot and he had to have it repaired. Now with less than a month of shoveling again, he has to have the OTHER boots sole reattached to the boot!
Back in the day, we NEVER had issues with our Sorels, never needing repair, and wearing them for YEARS; I am SO disappointed in Sorel current quality, and will not purchase ever again...
Disappointed,

I'm surprised by the general consensus that these boots are true to size. Also surprised that the website instructs you to order your normal size. If you click on sizing it says to size down if you're inbetween sizes, which i would not consider the case for me. I wear 12 or 13s. I got these in 12s and they are too big. Other than the size the boots seem great. 2 stars for bad sizing and bad sizing instructions on the site.

To be totally honest, I bought these in hopes that they would be the warmest boot that I have ever worn. I am sorry to report that my feet have in fact been cold in these boots multiple times.

I just replaced my 25 yr old Sorels... I am soo disappointed with my new Sorels... the liners in the new ones are so flimsy, not even close to being as thick & warm as my old liners. Smh... everything made nowadays is cheap crap.

I bought these at the end of last season, and just wore them on a very cold and windy day. My feet are freezing, and the temps were nowhere near the "-40" they advertise--more like 15-degree wind chill. I wear thick wool socks; the rubber just isn't insulated at all. It's like going out in rain boots, for goodness' sake! I had Sorels that lasted me over 20 years, but these are another quality altogether, what a shame. The previous boots weren't even high-end, like these are, but Sorel doesn't sell that style anymore. The rubber was different; this really is rain-boot rubber.
