Ok, These are Not the Sorel Caribou's from Canada... they are cheapening them.. Quality isn't the same... Over Priced.... There's guy that cuts boots in half on youtube... he was not impressed by what he saw.... neither was I.... however.. at this time.. it is what it is... Just wish they would have made them the way Mr Kaufmen made them. From Canada... Time will tell if they hold up.. people have had the Kaufman's 20 30 40 years and they still are in amazing shape... Also, when you take the booty out, take a look inside... terrible, nothing for warmth comfort arch nothing... I had to ad a sheep wool insert...again, quality not so good

Not great fit -- way too tight in the toe near the area where rubber joins upper. Also very stiff. Liked the fit better than Joan of Arc however.

I have had these boots for about 6-ish year, and have such mixed feelings about them. I live in Upstate New York where we do get a lot of snow. They've been used to shovel, snow blow, walk the dogs and commute to work. On the plus side, they are warm and dry. The laces work well (but you do have to double knot them). They've held up very well over several years. I don't find them especially comfortable though. Sometimes I use an older pair of Baffins because they are much lighter and easier to walk in. Even after years of use, the leather is so, so stiff. I also don't find them especially grippy in slippery conditions.
I'd also recommend:

wanted to like them but just too clunky for day to day winter warrior-ing. perfect if you are shoveling driveways all day or working out in the snow, but hauling kids to and fro in deep snow...they're just too much

My feet measure at a 6.5, but I tend to wear a 7 or 7.5 because I have wide toes. I ordered these in a 7.5 and they were ridiculously large! It was like when a child puts on their parent's shoes. The style was good and I have always heard good things about Sorels, but the sizing was way too far off.

Great item--short life! In only three years, the rubber top disintegrated! Worthless! If there's something I did wrong, or a conditioner for the rubber, let me know, I'd gladly get another pair. My budget doesn't allow me to spend $150 on snow boots every few years. Am I being unreasonable?

Do these boots need conditioner? How long should they last? They are, even if a little heavy, warm and waterproof. Somewhat slippery for city use, but I didn't know that and still, can deal. I needed a boot that could hold up for walks in water and snow. NYC is a walking city. BUT: after a mere three years without that much use, the rubber split on both toe boxes. That's it! $150 out the window! Nice while it lasted; but I'm debating whether I ought to get a new pair. Disappointed.

This is the first winter I've experienced in NY since moving here last May and needed to find a pair of snow boots. I was pretty excited to see these boots and decided to order a pair. Once they arrived and I tried them on, I was so disappointed. They made my feet look enormous. I'm 5'1" tall and wear a size 7 shoe so being short made them look even larger on my feet. They fit well on the inside but on the outside, I looked like I was wearing my father's boots. Unfortunately, I had to return them and get a pair of boots that are made for urban cold weather, not the arctic tundra. I'm sure these boots would work great if I lived in Alaska.

Thanks Zappos as always for the quick service! However, these boots are boats and difficult to get on and off. I will be returning and checking the site for another possibility. Thank you!

I was looking for boots that would be easy on/off for all the outdoor chores I do in the winter, and I was really hoping these boots would work for me, but the seam where the rubber meets the upper is so thick it digs into my foot just under my ankle. It was very painful after just a few steps around the house.

Was looking for a sturdy winter boot and I loved the look and height of these, but the bottom of the boot was just too bulky for me (I have larger feet anyway, so it just made them look huge). Returning for a different model of Sorel that is a little less bulky.

The boot liner is narrow compared to the boot. I bought 1 size larger than my shoe size for extra socks and the liner was still too tight on my calf.

These are really huge boots. They are definitely rugged, too rugged for everyday use, so I am returning them. They look to be of high quality and they were very comfortable.

I found these boots to be extremely bulky and more masculine than I'd hoped. My feet are normal (medium) width and these boots felt particularly wide for me. Also, I find them to be inflexible at the ankle making walking somewhat awkward. For a city dweller, I do too much walking to feel comfortable in these boots. They do seem to be very good quality boots, but just not for me. I am returning them.

Really big and really clunky! I thought they looked like men's shoes in the size 9. I ended up buying the Tivoli instead and loved them much better!

Heavy Duty - The reviews are accurate. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 and the 6 fit perfectly. These boots are heavy duty--They're great for snowy days, but they are also just plain HEAVY. I actually dread wearing them and lifting the heavy boots with every step. I would see if Sorel has a lighter version before buying these.

I really wanted to like these boots, but they were really stiff in the ankle area; my ankle bone was getting sore just walking around the house.

Ordered online, received boots promptly. Sorel advises sizing down since boots are cut large. I stayed with my normal boot size and the Sorel's were tight. I could only wear them with light socks, and they were tight across the top of the arch. Returned - which was fairly easy - and ordered a half size larger. Couldn't just exchange them. Had to return one and order the second size. Replacements showed up and fit worse. Felt liner is much thinner than it used to be, and on the boots I got the felt wouldn't even meet at the top of my arch or my ankle. That means in cold only my sock and the leather tongue protect my foot from the outside temp's. Arch of boot was also tight where the tongue is sewn in. Can't comment on durability. Poor fitting on two pair indicate a quality control problem. If you're going to buy these, go into a store and try them on first. When I called to return the second pair Sorel said there was a return fee. Customer service did agree to waive the fee when I talked with them some more about why I was returning the boots. Pity. I used to lover Sorel's.

A few years ago I decided it was time to retire my Sorel's I had since I was 10-12 or 25ish years. Bought these. Use only to walk from house or work to the car and back. Occasionally for walks. Nothing as crazy as when I was young and played in the snow for hours on end. After 1 season, maybe less, the sole started to wear through on the inside so it is just the empty squares (I bought some liners in so I couldn't feel pattern of the soles and make it it so I could continue using). Beginning of this winter season (start of 4th winter of wearing these) found a crack in the top of the foot area so if the liner gets wet when snow touches the boot. Bought flex seal so I can continue wearing them the rest of this winter. The quality of Sorel seems to have gone down hill. Maybe sorels are now a fashion line instead of a real quality outdoor boot. Will be researching other brands. And I used to recommend Sorel's to anyone looking for a good quality winter boot

I recently replaced my very old Sorels, and they were a great boot (light, warm and dry) for decades. Unfortunately the new Sorel Caribou boot I bought are not waterproof as advertised. Before the first use, I applied a waterproofing leather conditioner (recommended by the retailer), and although I've only used them three times, they leak at the seam. I was not in deep snow either, only 2-3 inches. Wet feet are not warm feet. Very disappointed and will try additional waterproofing or attempt to return the boots.

I have always worn Sorel Boots. For over 45 years they have been my go to boot when the weather is extremely cold and accumulating snows are forecasted. Been using these boots for all my hunting trips when your gear is most important for your comfort and success. I was hugely disappointed as after ordering two pairs of Caribou wool boots at two different sizes 9.5 and 10, the 9.5's one boot felt larger then the other. Upon further inspection I noticed that the left boot without the liner in had some raised rubber defects most likely contributing to the fit issue. The rubber appears to be poorly clued at the seems and is not a molded one piece and is also not steel shank rubber. Where the leather becomes one with the rubber there were raised areas that will quickly lead to decay of the overall boot. There seems to be a poor and lack of attention to detail in quality and the use of cheaper materials overall. Hence this is an imported boot and is intended for maximum production and profit. It is surely not the Sorel's from its earlier inception. Missing the Kaufman manufacturing out of Canada.

Buyer beware!!! The rubber is of poor quality and will crack after minimal use. Poor quality and not worth the wet feet later. I use to be a Sorel believer. I can't stand beside or "in" these boots anymore.

So disappointed in how these have held up. I bought these toward the end of the Chicago winter season. One month into the next season and they cracked. I still wear them, but still disappointed whenever I notice the crack. If I'm out in the elements for awhile, I notice the wet seeping in, leaving me with wet, cold feet.
