I have fallen arches and have to wear a 3/4 length prescription orthotic all the time to avoid foot and back pain. The orthotic pretty much rules out anything other than lace-up shoes, but when I saw these sturdy, yet stylish-looking Mary Janes, I thought they might work better with my orthotic than other single-strap Mary Janes typically do. Thanks to Zappos helpful photos, turns out I was right. If you're looking for a Mary Jane that works with an orthotic, these might do the trick. I am very happy with my purchase.

I purchased these for my elderly mother who is diabetic and has some challenges with walking. She loves them. They are comfortable, sturdy, light weight, easy on and off, and cute looking shoes. She feels secure walking in these. Excellent shoes! Worth the price.

This was my first order. The shoes in an unusually wide (4E) were a perfect fit and look stylish. They are very stable to walk in and are easy to get. On and off. They came quickly. I will definitely be ordering again. Zappos is fast and courteous.

Bought these shoes for my Mother (75 years) as a second pair (different color)to the same model which she loves and wears everywhere. She has back and feet problems these suit her perfectly for her needs. Arch support is just what she needs and in the right place. I'm thinking of buying a pair for myself.

Good quality shoe. I ordered the 8(d) wide but the toe box is shaped wrong (too pointy) for my foot which is very wide in front with a narrow heel - thus I am returning them. Also the Velcro strap was almost too short to accommodate my freakishly high arch. Looks like a comfy shoe for anyone with a less hard-to-fit foot than mine though - cute on, soft leather, good traction. By the way, though this style did not work for me, I have bought other Propet shoes that have. Just never know until you try them on! As always, Zappos means excellent prices, fabulous selection, and service beyond compare. If you are on the fence, go for it! You won't be sorry. Great shoes and free shipping if you need to return them like I do.

I loved these shoes until the soles cracked and the heels tore off with holes! But what do you expect after over four years of everyday wear! I wondered why the strap was unfashionably wide, they are for problematic feet, like mine. They were the best and wish that I had stuck with reordering another pair!

I would like for you to send me a larger size: 8 1/2 Wide! My toes are cramped and I need a little more toe room!

I cannot say enough nice things about this shoe. Stylish, comfortable and a great fit! Runs very true to size. No need to break these shoes in...they are a great fit from the first time you slip them on. A winner in my book!

I have had trouble finding comfortable shoes for 20 years. These are a dream! And, to top it off my 3 year old granddaughter visited wearing Mary Jane's and loved the fact that our style of shoe matched.

These shoes are by far, the most comfortable shoes I own. I work in retail, thus I am on my feet all day. My foot is an 11ww. Until now my poor feet have been in constant pain. When I get home, I usually can't wait to kick off my shoes, not the case any more. I love my Propet Mary Jane Walkers! Kudos to Propet for making such a quality shoe to accommodate my needs in a shoe that looks as good as it feels and fits! And Zappos, as always, delivered superior service. I bought this shoe a while back and it is so comfortable, no pressure on my big ole bunion. After wearing them a while, I bought them in red nu buck. These are so great, I'd buy more if I could find them. Hint! Hint!

These are good walking shoes. The leather is quality, and them clean up with the swipe of a soft cloth. Style wise they are a little clunky, but they are more stylish than tennis shoes. I like the easy on/off closure, but had to give them 4 stars for comfort as the side away from the velcro rubbed unconfortably when I first wore them. Now they have broken in and I don't fasten them extra tight. Toe box is comfortable. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

I needed a wide toe area because of bone spurs and I got these in a 4E which works well. I was able to put in a pair of gel pads and they were still wide enough. And because of the strap they can be adjusted to stay on my foot. I need a minimalist shoe which these are not, and they feel kind of clunky to me. But they seem okay.

These are fantastic shoes! Comfortable, sturdy, and adorable. They've quickly become my every day fall shoe.

Good comfortable shoes, classy enough looking for work. I have very broad flat feet & have trouble finding anything that will fit but these are great!

I had to find a shoe to fit a really wide foot since I broke my ankle and my foot will be swollen for quite a while. These shoes fit the bill and are cute to wear. Also easy to wear from the start.

Bought these shoes for my 68 year old mother, who has very bad feet. Bought for her trip to D.C. as I knew she would do a lot of walking. She loved them and her feet did not hurt. Lots of comfort. Mother does not have an arch whatsoever.

I love this shoe. It's very comfortable, with some arch support, and the 4e will fit the widest foot comfortably right out of the box. It's dressy, easy on/off, and just a good quality shoe.

The Propet Walker fits well and is nice looking. I needed a comfortable shoe for work that was a little more stylish than my regular daily walking shoes. I do a lot of walking and standing in my job and these shoes are light weight, provide stability, and I like the adjustable velcro strap. At the end of the day I do not feel like I have to take these off as soon as I walk in the door.

I bought these shoes in double-extra wide to accommodate my ridiculously wide feet, custom orthotics, and arthritic big toe. I’ve had my first pair for 3 years now, and they are fantastic. They are deep enough to accommodate my orthotic and my "high-volume" foot, as one shoe store clerk has called it, and wide enough for my wide toes but not too wide for my normal heels. From day one I never got blisters from these shoes, even when I wear them with nylons or bare feet. And they look really good - even though I jokingly refer to them as my "orthopedic nurse shoes", they don’t look unfashionable or too old for me (I’m in my early 30s). (I got the black ones.) I have worn them for teaching and to lots of academic conferences, and I think they are dressy and fun. They work with both slacks and skirts or dresses, which I think is wonderful. After 3 years of wearing these shoes at least 3 times a week, they are still in pretty good shape. The leather and straps have held up very well; I polished them a couple of times to remove minor scuff marks, and that made them look brand new again. Just in the last month or so the fabric inside one heel has started to tear - not bad. Also, the shoes have slumped over towards the outside of my feet, but this is because of the way my feet are (mis)shaped, and because I am a very heavy person. I don’t think this would happen to someone of normal weight and/or with normal feet - and even with me, the shoes withstood it for more than 2 years. I have tried other mary jane walking shoes, like the Drew Bloom II, and it does not measure up - not nearly as attractive, and way too wide in the heel. I have just ordered a new pair of the Propet Mary Janes and I expect to get another wonderful 3 years out of them!

Excellent quality shoes. Walked all over NYC in a recent vacation and shoes were comfortable and stylish the whole time. Wear well.

These are very comfoprtable and supportive while looking appropriate at my teaching position. They are ableto be worn for 8-10 hours without becoming uncomfortable for walking or standing

Deep enough for orthotics wearers (the insoles are easily removed) and wide enough for those of us with moderate bunions, these shoes are a good basic Mary Jane. I took the chance of wearing them for the first time on a business trip that involved sprinting through airports, and they were comfortable right out of the box. Good value for the money, too. On my foot, which is between 7.5 and 8, the size 8 shoe fits really well.

Serious Walking Shoe with Some Style - I seriously dislike wearing athletic-type, lace-up shoes for walking since I am almost always dressed too nicely for them and I think they look ugly with my attire. These Mary Jane Walker shoes by Propet allow me to look feminine and pretty but at the same time they are still a serious, carefully constructed shoe for walking in. I ordered them in black, and they are very comfortable and sensible for any time you are going to be on your feet a lot. One thing, while the strap is plenty long enough, the velcro could extend over a greater length of the strap. I have very high arches AND insteps and can barely get the velcro parts to meet. One could, if needed, add more velcro to the strap...but that is a bit of a pain to do. Other than that, they're perfect. I really like them. If you don't have high arches and insteps, you won't have a problem. VERY COMFORTABLE!

I have not broken in these shoes yet. I think they will be comfortable. Some of the reviews said this shoe ran large, so I bought a smaller size, but then had to send back for a larger size.
