I have a very thin foot., and I was swimming in these. Perhaps they made an error as I have many pairs of Mephisto.

These fit well, however, they are VERY firm support, no cushion. They have a very large arch, to the point that my arches felt bruised. They are cute and well constructed but too much arch for me. I normally wear vionix sandals.

Was very difficult to get the straps to adjust right for comfort. As well the leather felt like it would need a lot of breaking in.

I’ve owned these shoes for about a year now. They are really, really comfortable and pretty; I’ve gotten lots of compliments on them. But I took off one star from the overall rating because of the fragility of the pattern design. I don’t wear the shoes a whole, whole lot (maybe an average of 4 days a month?), but the pattern has been quite noticeably flaking off for the last 3 or 4 months. So yay on comfort and cuteness, boo on long-term durability. Oh, and just FYI, y’all: know your EU size, and be aware that Mephisto’s US size scale is inaccurately small. E.g., the EU size on mine is 43, which most companies equate to a US 11.5 to 12. That’s accurate; I order 11.5 to 12 US sizes frequently and EU 43 frequently. But Mephisto incorrectly equates an EU 43 to a US 13. So if you are ordering based on US sizes, be aware that you most likely need to size up.

These were so comfy, I really wanted to love them. They were a little heavy for sandals, but made them feel more substantial. I loved the style and color as an alternative to Birks which don't really have anything I like. The only reason these were returned was because the toe bed was just a little too narrow. My pinky toe was on the edge and kinda spilled over which doesn't look or feel good. They were B-Medium width and there isn't a wide width option. :(

I wear an 8, and I ordered a 38 in this shoe. It was almost the exact length of my foot, and just a bit narrow. I have very slightly wide feet, so I was surprised. However, I think I might have ordered the shoe too small overall. They’re cute, and I think they’ll be versatile. The big toe strap felt a little rough, but I’m sure will soften with wear. I exchanged them for a 39 and will update once I receive them

I ordered a size 6 in the Light Sand Croco style. I'm typically a size 5 1/2 and have wide feet. These definitely fit well - the width was wide enough for me and there is a little "extra" shoe in the front and back but not enough to make the shoe unwearable. The footbed and sole are amazingly supportive and I could see myself walking for miles just based on these features alone. The jury's out on the straps, however. The first few wears the straps felt extremely stiff and I started getting blisters. Based on other comments about needing time to break in I kept wearing them. I put some band aids on my feet where the straps rubbed and put some anti chafe between my toes so the thong part wouldn't rub so badly. So far it seems like the straps are breaking in. I will keep at it as I think after time these sandals will really break in and start to feel amazing. Just be warned that if you get the style that I did, you might need to be persistent too.

I have put the Mephisto Helen in my cart several times, but only recently gave in and bought these before all of the colors were out of stock. Unfortunately, it was too narrow for my wide foot. Also, the leather is stiff. Again, probably looks good on 20-year-old feet rather than mine, which have seen 68 years of action.

Love the style of the shoe, I am usually an 8.5 or 9 and the 9 just barely fit (I also ordered the 10 but they were just too big). It's also a bit narrow and I don't have wide feet - pretty average, so beware if you have wide feet. They are comfortable though and I can see me wearing these a lot.

I liked the shoe and may have needed the next size. My right foot loved it but my left had trouble with the thong. If your young and no foot problems they would be good.

Be ware: if you have a bunion, the cross strap is likely to cut into your foot at the bunion.

I have always been able to wear a 35 in Mephistos as well as Danskos until this past year. They have become like Dansko, making their sizes fit larger.

Hurt my old plantar fasciitis feet. Too bad!

I like the style of these shoes...but they were not comfortable for me to walk in. They do run narrow and therefore fit my narrow foot well. I think they ran about a 1/2 size short...my foot just did fit with not any extra room in the length. I had tried these shoes in the leather...and it was stiff. The suede leather is not as stiff.

I love the Mephisto Helen and this is my third pair. I have one pair that is at least 4 years old and still love it.I’m keeping the light sand zambe with slight reluctance because overall I’m not thrilled with how it looks. I ordered and returned the bronze star color because it looked purple or lavender to me instead of rose gold like in the photo. This shoe is just so incredibly comfortable that I must keep. I’ll continue checking back to see what new colors come out. My oldest pair is silver so I would love new one like that without flowers on it. Zappos customer for life.

Fits well but leather seems to need breaking in. Beautiful pattern and colors; sharp style for a comfort sandal

I'm torn on these shoes. On one hand, I love the rose gold color (old pink star) and the fit (40 was perfect for me). But, I am having trouble on the comfort side of things. After a breaking-in period of several weeks, I took these to wear to a conference at a large hotel in Las Vegas. After one day of walking around, my feet hurt soooo bad, it took several days feel normal again. Every one on Zappos raved about these being super comfortable and great for plantar fasciitis, but I haven't had that experience so far. However, they are super cute and look great with shorts, capris, jeans, and dresses so I will be keeping them for situations that don't require 11,000 to 12,000 steps a day.

I usually wear a US size 9 or 9.5 and EU size 40. The 40 fit perfectly. I'd ordered a 39 as well but didn't even take them out of the box since the 40 was clearly the right fit. The silver finish looks great in person-- just the right amount of shine to add some glam. Footbed was harder than I expected, but not uncomfortable. The straps aren't super stiff but the edges do rub against my toes. I almost returned these because of that, but I liked them enough to keep them and hopefully they'll soften up over time.

I have worn a size 41 in Birkenstock since 1980's. These were too short and too narrow and greenish in color, not white background like the depiction. I love zappos. I love my new Sak purse. Perfect.

These shoes are very comfortable, and I tried them in three colors: Nubuck (camel), blue waxy, and light sand perle patent. They were all very comfortable, and the fit was great. The style is a little heavy looking, which is why I liked the Nubuck camel the best--it didn't "stand out." However, I think that particular pair had a defect. The left shoe's top strap had a large gap on top, while the right one didn't. The style can be a bit slimming at the same time since the top straps go backward at an angle instead of straight across the toes. It leaves your toes rather unencumbered. One pair's thong strap was a bit uncomfortable, while others' were fine. Just didn't fall in love with them.

I have worn these shoes for years., I think these are slightly more narrow and have less arch support than the ones I have purchased in the past. My hope is that the manufacturer is Not starting to cut corners. If this becomes a trend, I will not buy their product.

I have worn this style/model shoe forever... this is at least my 6th pair (I wear them year round, pretty much every day). I have a very high arch and always loved the pronounced support. But I am disappointed that the arch support in this shoe I just purchased seems to be less robust than prior. I wonder if they are changing the specs, or if manufacturing quality is changing. Also, I need a 40EU/10US, though in most other shoes I wear a 9.

Even though I gave the Helens (I bought the Desert Buffalo and Black Waxy) only four stars overall, they are the top of the line for comfort sandals. The four stars are because (1) they are very expensive; (2) they roll my feet slightly to the outside; and (3) the toe-hole caused blisters to the top of my big toe until I could get the leather softened enough (I finally had to take a nail file to the bottom edge of the leather of the toe-hole). However, negatives aside, the arch support is excellent (I have very high arches, and the Helen fits them perfectly). Other than the blister mentioned above, they are incredibly comfortable to stand in or walk in for long periods of time. And while their style is definitely a cut above the standard aging hippie Birkenstock look, the Helens still appear a little... searching for the right word... non-urban. But their comfort level trumps their looks when you're going to be moving your feet. Last, but not least... I'm short, so I love that the Helens add a safe extra 1-1/2 inches to my height! Ordered on Memorial Day, received them the next day. Love the look and they feel like a dream except there is a problem. I have a medium-sized bunion on my right foot. It isn't usually an issue. The strap on the Helen hits just at the top of the bunion. After wearing around the house for 30 minutes the leather is already digging into my foot. I have med to wide width foot. Wide width shoes are too wide, but if you ask me, my feet look a little like Fred Flintstone's. I really hate to return the sandals, but I fear if I do any serious walking the strap will start to cut into my foot. Hard to rate since I feel the shoe is terrific. It doesn't ' work for my right foot.
