Sadly, after just 6 months of wear these boots ripped at the bottom inside seam. My sons foot is getting wet. I want to order another pair but his size is out-of-stock.

Loved these boots until they were destroyed by normal wear and tear in less than a year. I wore them several days a week in the city, nothing but walking and never more than a few miles a day. I didn't notice that the base of the shoe was separating until it was too late, that the glue that kept the base stuck to the rubber sole had broken down to the point of being unusable. I expect more from a boot that costs this much. It's a shame, otherwise I thought it was a great boot.

I like the look and color of the boots a lot. They were very comfortable in terms of interior comfort as soon as I put them on, and the wide width fits my EEE foot very well. My major complaint is that the hard Vibram sole is incredibly stiff and unforgiving. It negates any cushioning the foot pad provides. I put in an extra heel cushion in each boot and that helps a little, but I still feel like I'm clunking around on a pair of old army boots. I have bad knees, so I need more cushion and a softer, more pliable sole or my knees (and back) get sore very quickly. I may change the sole of these boots to a spongier Vibram sole that I put on all my leather-bottomed shoes. But I bought the Timberlands for walking in the snow, which they handle pretty well. I have two pairs of waterproof Timberland Earth Movers boots that have softer waffle-bottom soles, but it's like ice-skating when I walk on snow/ice with them - no grip whatsoever. So I guess the trade-off is between better gripping power vs. a comfortable walking experience.

Overall very nice boots. They do run very large so be aware of that. Fortunately Zappos has a great exchange policy. There were some defects in the boots. I had to send them back 2 times to get it right. There was a pucker where the upper is stitched to the ankle of the boot. I didn't like this. The pair I finally kept still has this pucker but it does not seem to affect the comfort. These boots are stiff and will need breaking in. I was hoping they would be more comfortable so that I could use them for hiking but there is not a lot of support in them. They are fine for working but that is about it. I also question the waterproofing a little bit. For a bombproof set of workboots, these are great.

I had one major problem with these boots. The leather insoles are dyed orange and turned my socks orange. As my feet got damp from sweat, this problem eventually worked its way to the soles of my feet.

Hmm... Mixed feelings. Much about them is good, but I am not convinced they are made to the same production standards as once they were. However, they still more than hold their own against similar brands. They are primarily a fashion boot, but with some genuine outdoorsy credentials. My major concerns are three-fold. Firstly, I have fairly narrow feet. I bought a size smaller than I would normally take, but my feet do swim around in them, which is not exactly a comfortable or stable feel. If they did a narrow size, I suspect it would be a totally different experience. If your feet are narrow, I would avoid these totally. Secondly, do not believe people who talk about the great grip in all conditions. They are lethal in the wet on certain surfaces, which is a common problem with most types of rubber. It tends to grip like glue in the dry, but get a film of water on rubber, and its friction drops to almost zero - a scientific fact. A wet leather sole has more friction than rubber, for example! As just one example, I walked to the edge of a road crossing, where the pavement sloped down to the road. It was raining. I stepped on the sloped bit and totally lost it, sliding straight out into the road. I was quite lucky to avoid the passing traffic. You need to be very wary when you wear these in the wet on certain types of surface. Vibram rubber (as found on many genuine hiking boots) is different. They somehow reduce this problem. Finally, they are not as breathable as some claim. I do not have particularly sweaty feet but, on mild days, I find the leather lining can be saturated with moisture. Oh - and the orange dye on the leather (which I do like the look of) does tend to stain socks! In summary, they are a fairly good boot, but for me, I just don't go with all these 5/5 reviews, "best in the world" etc. Like most things, they have flaws, which you should carefully factor in before buying them. Many people who buy things naturally want to convince themselves they got the best, so many reviews tend to have a natural bias.

Just bought Wide size and the boots were still very narrow. Also, the way the tongue is manufactured and stitched quite high, it's extremely difficult to get your foot inside the boot. I'm very disappointed. They need tighter quality control.

Well there went a once great company. Many people who buy these boots and whose reviews you read, are the type of people who carry a little felt bag of suede cleaner and a brush to clean off any speck or grain of dirt that blemishes their Timberlands, or Timbs as many refer to them as. As for me who abuses the you know what out of them, ill tell you they take the beating, they break in quickly, and theyre down right comfortable, but the sole is horrible. God forbid the ground is slightly wet, and the soles have no traction. all production was moved to China they used to be made in the Dominican Republic, but now the materials are cheap and they're used for nothing more than ghetto rapper wanabe kids who cant get their WORK BOOTS dirty. What a shame. From this day forth i wont purchase another product made by Timberland

The boots appeared to be new, but they confusingly had blades of grass along the outer sole. There was also a small dirt smudge on one boot, and there also wasn't any paper stuffing in the boots. So I'm a little confused as to if the pair I received were actually brand spanking new or not. I've been having trouble with receiving mail so I'm not gonna send them back, but I'm no where near 100% happy with my purchase.

The same boots, but in olive nobuk leather became not a waterproof. I wear it only two seasons. Water come inside to boots through the seam between the boots body and the sole. but the gap is very small and it is impossible to glue it. I have to walk only in dry weather. I was surprised by this, very disappointed! May by in need to impregnate with some water-repellent composition?

I bought these to replace a pair of Timberland Pro boots that I had bought yeas ago that were finally worn out on the heels. It was clear just from looking at them that they were no way near the quality of the pair I had. They were not fully lined and what was lined looked cheap, the leather was of much poorer quality. The eyelets appears to be just some metal colored to look like brass. The sole was very different. Not sure if it would be better or worse, but the soles on my last pair last for 20 years. There was single sticking in places where the old poor had double. I returned them and decided to spend $80 to get my old one fixed.

The wide boots have a tapered toe box. Unless your big toe is at a 45 degree angle to the rest of your foot, it isn't very comfortable. The toe box is very stiff, so it won't stretch. I wish I could wear them, because other than that issue they seem like good boots.

Having wide feet, it was important that the velcro straps are adjustable. The one over the toes is one solid piece and does not adjust. Returned them.

Thought it would be nicer and more comfortable being platinum wrong. No wide sizes, fits narrow for my big feet, hurts to wear, stains easily, stains are hard to clean off, not worth the hype given to them, stuck with an expensive pair of boots that feels like they will crumble after a few wears

always wore timberland for years. This pair laces are way to short. cant tie them when laced all the way up and are far to thin for such an expensive shoe. Not sure if i will return or buy new laces. Timberland doesnt even sell a thick lace. for the price very upset

the quality and craftsmanship are simply not there. The nubuck leather is nice enough especially in the rest. but the cut of the boot body is shoddy, like the pattern wasn't followed closely enough so that the contour is non existing making the boot look wide and baggy. Worst yet the fit is simply not there and to add insult to injury the comfort is also compromised. So disappointed.

Although the footprint is correctly sized, this boot has a massive amount of shoe volume on top of the foot and at and above the ankles. The insert is wide at the arch, but Superfeet or other inserts can cure the problem. Having owned a number of high end leather backpacking boots, I found this boot a disappointment and returned it.
