Ordering was easy, and arrived without any drama. Boots are great, the only problem was that the boots do run large! I had heard this but decided to get the size 12 for my son anyway. Sure enough they were too large. Size 11 is perfect and he is a very happy camper! He wears them constantly!

Are they worth almost this cost? YES, and here's why. 10 years ago I bought a pair of the Timberland Pro Series steel toe in brown as true work boots which I think ran me about about half this cost at the time. For casual wear I later bought a pair of Dr. Martens (first pair stolen after a year) then waited a couple years and bought a second pair, both around half the cost each. I'm an IT System Admin at a hospital so half the week I dress for meeting, then other half casual and comfortable for a lot of walking and moving around. I was originally looking at the much less expensive "Classic" design, though couldn't find it in my size (10 regular). This was really the best thing that could have happened! With reading other reviews on the comfort and quality advantages the Premium has over other I decided to dish out the extra money. Side note: I have worn my work boots through 2 laces and the original sole (easily replaced by a Dr. Scholls work/sport insole) and could find a readable size on the tag or anywhere else. To be sure I went to the mall and tried on the classic tan pair in this style to order the correct size. Suffice it to say these have been my favorite pair of boots ever purchased. Only narrowly beating my work boots since these are lighter w/out the steel toe (but these aren't being used for anything requiring that). The comfort is unmatched. Within 4 hours of wearing them they had formed to my feet and the quality, well, they seem indestructible. I love the Nubuck black as a classy and casual boot for in and out of work settings while also knowing I can wear them hunting or hiking if needed. I of course always spray them with Suede/Nubuck protector (3M Scotch Guard sells a can for cheap). I wouldn't trade these for any other boots. With the comfort, quality and lower profile than others such as D. Martens. I'll never buy any other boot -for work or play. And yes, I can seriously run in these!

My son wears a size 18 wide. We received that size and they were extra large. He even tried them on with the paper in them and still too big. Nice boot - will try a size 17 wide. Hope that works. He needs them for school.

Great, versatile, comfortable boot. This is my son's second pair of Classic Tims. Bought the first pair in the tan color at the beginning of his freshman year in college and he wore them the last three years - 9 months out of the year in all weather and miles of walking every day. He loved them. They are not too heavy and though not heavily insulated, do allow him to add warm socks for the Michigan winters. Pretty worn out after three years of hard use though so just got him a new pair for his senior year and the color of these is really nice - a soft, sage green. Not too muddy or too bright.

Outstanding customer service and super fast shipping with VIP, ordered for my son who is away at college and he received the next day. We ordered the olive color because they were a change from the tan he has been wearing for many years, he really liked the color. He finds Timberland runs big as he usually takes a 9.5 in sneakers and shoes but 8.5 in Timberland Boots. Very happy with purchase, plus was a bonus to get them on sale!

The boots are true to size. Tested in heavy water and passed. A great looking boot. Have had exceptional help from Zappos on 3 different occasions. Always a very positive outcome. Will always start at Zappos for all shopping needs.

My daughter was going to Va to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity and I order these work boots for her. For some reason, UPS botched the delivery but Zappos reshipped them overnight and reimbursed me the cost of the boots! It was truly stellar service on their parts and my daughter is comfortably hammering away in Virginia.

I've been buying these boots for the past 5 years. They are simply the best boots out there of its style.
You have to wear long, and thicker socks if you get these, otherwise they will beat up your feet. So comfort isn't all good. But the style is amazing and fresh. They go great with darker jeans.
However I am a bit disappointed that they raised the price. They used to be 120-130 dollars for he past 4-5 years. Now they are 165 all of a sudden. That's nonsense.

I love these boots. I've walked through puddles, slush, and snow with these and they've kept me dry through all of it. They run slightly big, but with some thick socks they fit just fine. I got the olive green and I think they look great. I would definitely recommend these boots.

I purchased these for my 15 year old son, who outgrew a previous pair of Timberlands. He loves them. His previous pair didn't have the cushioned part around the opening. He says they are very comfortable. Be sure to spray them with some sort of protectant to avoid water/salt stains.

These are fantastic although they ran large. My son is a 17 in sneakers, but is size 16 in these Timberland boots. The boots are a bit wide for his slightly narrow feet and he slips a lot, bulkier socks help (I gave comfort four stars for that reason). Even at that large a size the boots are not overly heavy - appropriate for the boot type and size. I love Timberlands.

I have poor circulation in my feet, so finding warm boots that actually work, look good, and are comfortable is a lifelong obsession of mine. I'm a school teacher and I'm on my feet all day. I decided to buy these after looking at "style" boots like ones by Frye and the other end of the spectrum, I also looked at construction boots by Timberland Pro and Red Wing. I think these strike a balance between ruggedness style, and price. They were comfortable right out of the box and required virtually no break-in period. I find they chafe a bit in the "bend" if you have a deep stride, but I stride fairly shallow. Over the last couple of weeks, the leather has loosened up and they only do that if I'm running. Over 12 hours a day standing, and my feet don't get tired. Very comfortable insole. There is virtually no arch support, but I like that because I have fallen arches. If you have high arches, you might need to replace the insole which is removable. In line with other reviewers, I find these fit at least a half size bigger than normal maybe even 3/4 of a size. My normal size is a 10D. Although I knew they run big, I ordered them in my regular size. I like to wear very thick socks. I wear the boots with a silk sock liner from REI and thick rag-wool socks from L.L. Bean and my feet have a bit of wiggle room. Very nice for easy walking and standing around. If your feet tend to run warm, I would definitely order half size down from usual so you can wear standard crew socks. I don't see these being sturdy enough for hiking. The sole is too soft, and the heel-shank is too broad. The sole is also glued to the body of the boot as opposed to stitched; as you might see on a high-end boot. If you look very closely, you can clearly a shiny band where the boot meets the sole. This is the glue, and the stitching below it is a faux detail. I used a soft wire brush to scrape off the top layer of glue-residue so as to lessen the shiny effect. It took two minutes and doesn't affect the quality. I also own the cordovan color in this identical boot, and the shiny glue is less noticeable in the other color. I don't have an issue with a glued sole at this price-point, but it does beg the question as to how many seasons they will last under very heavy use. I own specialized hiking boots, and I wouldn't buy these for hiking. These are more suitable for being "about town" as the saying goes. So far they're comfortable and they keep my feet warm to about 45F. Below 45F, if I don't keep moving, my toes get a bit cold, but like I said, I have poor circulation. My feet have stayed dry even in heavy rain. My only complaint is that the laces that came with them are garbage. I threw those away immediately and replaced with new ones I bought. I also bought a suede brush at Nordstrom to keep them clean. I love these. I get compliments on them all the time, and they're not really available in stores, so that's a bonus. I also own the brown/cordovan model, and you can read my review of those under that color tab. The black suede is very casual. Even after I switched to black dress laces, they're too casual looking for days when I have to dress up for work. I wear them with jeans, and if I need to wear slacks I keep a pair of dress shoes in my office so I can change. I hope you find my review helpful.

Just like the 20-year-old pair they have replaced, but much newer looking. Note: These boots run a full size larger than all of my other shoes and boots.

My 16 year old son lives in these boots at prep school. He normally wears an 11.5 or 12 and wears an 11 in these Timberlands. Since he wears them in rain and snow, I spray them with a suede leather protect-ant.

I got a pair of these boots in 1997 after a pair of Asolo's disintegrated on me in a year. I've worn them every year ever since. Mostly a winter boot, mine has a thin layer of insulation. Great with thick socks in the winter, pretty hot in the summer. There's almost no cushioning in the sole and after wearing the boots all day it feels like you're walking on rocks. Also there are no speed eyelets or zippers which makes put them on and taking them off more of a pain than it has to be. Those are the down sides. The up side is that even with a decent amount of wear, these boots will last over a decade. Initially I wore them a lot, then I got desk jobs and wore them less, but they come out every winter and serve me well, lately I've been using them in the summer for motorcycle riding. The shifter polishes the Nubuck pretty quick but the more you abuse these boots, the better they look. Add speed lacing or a side zipper and I'd definitely buy again.

Amazing quality. Yes, they are expensive but you get what you pay for. These are incredible boots, my husband loves them. I'm sure they're work great for the winter. However, I did read a bunch of reviews on how they fit a bit larger, so I got my husband half a size smaller! Good choice, because they fit perfectly.

Loyal Timb fan -
Very stylish, very comfortable, incredibly long-lasting, one pair lasted over 6 years, used to leave them outside in freezing weather, tromp through mud, just totally abuse them, the sole and outer leather actually held up the entire time I had them, but the inside started to deteriorate finally, Definitely got my money's worth out of them!

Gotta be the shoes -
I am a big fan of Timberland fashion. I would not change anything about this brand. Although I thought the price was a little more expensive than my local department store. The reason I bought them here is because they ran out of my size and I couldn't have the chance to get them elsewhere until this fall. On a positive note I did get fast shipping.
