Excellent Work/Casual Boot -
I first purchased this boot 2 years ago for work, and am now purchasing a new pair. They have worn great. I have never had a more comfortable "work" boot, and it is also nice that once I'm not at work, I can also wear these out and about as a good looking, and very comfortable, casual boot.

My work boots -
My new Dr Martin work boots are one of the most comfortable steel toed boots I have ever worn right out of the box. The only thing better was the ease and comfort of ordering them from Zappos.It was one of the most painles online purchases I have made yet.

Best Boots Ever -
I had these boots for 3 years, and with a little Dr. Marten wonder balsom, to this day they still polish up like a champ. They look great with jeans too. These boots can either be for work or style. These are the ole' Doc's best work yet

Top Notch -
These shoes fitted perfectly to my foot. The shoes fitted snug but not tight or loose. The steel toe, I did not feel. They were a bit heavy. The walk in them felt cushy and springy for each step. They did provide some arch support.

They're a good looking shoe. The best steel toe I ever had, although one shoe is ripping out after 16 months. They scuff pretty easy for a shoe intended for an industrial environments. This shoe should be offered in black.

I am a 15-year wearer of Doc Marten’s shoes and boots and I swear by their comfort and durability. I bought a pair of model 8855 and with the first pair, the sole separated on the side in two places only a few months after purchasing them. Sent them back and received a brand new pair, same model. Last week, I just noticed this happening again and I have no idea why. I wear them everyday for work and do not abuse them. Only thing I can think of is this new sole design. Never had a problem with the flat or commando style sole. Other then this happening, Dr. Martens are truly foot joy.

Just to let you all know, I have a pair of DM sandals, along with these 8845 boots. I owned and wore my sandals for an entire Summer when the sole on one came unstitched. Not thinking anything could come of it, I contacted DM via email. They gave me their address and I returned the sandals. Within 10 days, I was shipped a brand new pair! Their Cust. Just as I expected -
This is my second pair of steel toe DMs, and these are just as comfortable as the first ones. The outer soles in these look like they have some kind of gel inside of them. I'm looking forward to working in them. Safe enough for work, and good looking enough for Sunday meetinga. Thanks Zappos!

Best shoe ever.
This shoe was tight at first, but after a few weeks they felt better. This shoe is the best workboot I've ever had. I didn't even know they were steel toes, which is the best, and plus they look really good!

Awesome boots!!!
I just got my boots today and wore them for an hour! Within an hour I received THREE compliments and people asking where I got them. They say these are Industrial boots, which they could be, but if you are looking for a sharp pair of Doc's to wear to EVERYDAY functions, these are it! As far as comfort goes, usually it takes me a few days to break in a pair of shoes, but these instantly felt good!

I've had these for 5 years, worn about every other day, so this is a long term POV. Overall, they are NOT the most comfortable boot, even considering a steel toe. I've had cheepies that felt better. However, I bought them because they looked so cool. With a nice Gellin pad and good socks, they aren't too bad. The good 'ol Doc sole has worn well, I still have a little tread left after all these years. It seems the leather has stretched out a bit (a lot) as I now have to pull the laces so tight, the two sides meet. Being loose sucks because your foot shifts around a bit causing some sprained ankle tendencies. Although the leather has worn very well, even with lots of kneeling and scrapes on the toe, they are still solid. The black color part on the rear upper is vinyl and will tear apart quite early, but don't mess with much.

I love Docs and these are no exception, but I did have a small problem with blisters at first which I didn't have with my shoes (8053's) because they are just too wide for my feet. Still, I felt they were broken in after wearing only twice. Wish they would make a women's specific.

Awesome shoes that with little to no break in time. Because I have wide feet I always had to go one size higher to get the right fit. With these shoes I went with my original shoe size and they fit perfect. Only one concern is that the front of the shoe wears fast. Both shoes on mine have worn off and I can see the steel toe.

My Work Boots-
I love the boots overall. My only complaint is that they are sold as "work boots" but being as they are brown leather, they show EVERY LITTLE scuff and scrap. I was a little disappointed, but it was mostly my fault for not taking the material they are made of into consideration when I purchased them.
The customer service I received from Zappos is the best customer service I have EVER received. Very over the top!! You have made a customer for life, and I have recommended your site to all of my friends and coworkers!!

When you look at these shoes online they appear darker and that is what I thought I was getting. When I received them they were lighter than I expected. Also, These shoes feel a little larger all around and my foot seems to move a bit. I have tried the next lower size and it is too small. I wish Dr. Marten's had half sizes. I think an 11.5 would fit me perfectly. Overall I do like this shoe.

I already have an old pair of these, my girlfriend liked those enough to get me a second. I love Docs. I actually have about 6 pair of steel toe Docs that I wear right now. These were supposed to be the EXACT same shoe that I already had, but they don't feel the same at all. They seem to be much larger than the sized marked. I had to put an insole in them just to make them feel sort of like the broke in pair. I still love the boot and the price. I think we saved $25 by purchasing them online.

Not what they used to be -
I have worn this style of shoe for 6 years now... The insoles have changed drastically from the last time I bought a pair of these shoes... I recently bought two pair to be able to rotate and not wear the same pair two days in a row...
the insoles of these news shoes have curled up almost instantly after looking at the insoles of my old shoes I see how cheaply they are trying to make these shoes now.. I just got a reply from Dr Martens and they are sending me some replacement insoles... After I receive these replacements will I then be able to determine if I will ever buy these shoes again!

I purchased a pair of these exact boots fom a local mall here in middle MO. Since then I have gone through 3 pair within a year and a half, VERY VERY dissapointed!! Now I am stuck with a pair of boots that are crap!! The black padding in back has torn away from the stitching , the soles are coming apart. I don't use these boots for outside work, I work at a local school and use them indoors. I paid $140.OO for my boots and I got better results from Wal-Mart $30.OO boots. I will say they are very comfortable, but that's all I will say about them. Brian R. MO.
