I ordered these when my feet started to hurt at the end of the day during the beginning of the second trimester my pregnancy. I care a lot about fashion so it was a hard hit for me to commit to birks. Your feet become so flexible during pregnancy they can change for good. I decided to only wear with the best orthopedic shoes I could find (in hopes of giving them full support so to not change). This classic pattern is the best of them all and I wear them with everything. I now have 3 colors. I'm in my 7th month and while I do get bored with my footwear selection - pain is never an issue. I am totally comfortable all day. One random day I went without shoes and by 5pm my feet were killing me - I had to stop everything and put them up. This never happens when I'm wearing my birks. I fully recommend these for a pregnancy. I will probably continue to wear them the rest of my life (but not exclusively!!) I hope that after the baby comes I can celebrate my shoe wardrobe again - and if not at least I have these. :D

I have another pair of Birkenstocks in the Birki-flor material and they just will not wear out! So I decided I needed the Gizeh for a change of pace. I love the style and the color - the titanium has a soft metallic sheen without being too flashy. When I first tried them on, the thong felt uncomfortable, but then I tightened the strap across my foot so that the sandal fits snugly. That did the trick and now they feel great. All the ease of a flip-flop, but much better support and comfort.

Love my Gizeh birks! These are so comfortable and stylish too! A must have staple in your summer wardrobe.

My new favorite sandals! All Birks are stiff at first, but after a few wearings you will love them. I wear a size 8 however every pair of Birks I have every owned was a size 7. They are a full size smaller than other brands.

These are great! I haven't worn thong-style sandals in many years, and was able to put these on and wear them with very little discomfort. Once my toes "harden up" a bit they will be all day wear!! It's wonderful they come in narrow!!!

I have plantar fasciitis & Birkenstock shoes and sandals is the only shoe I can wear pain free! Thank goodness!

I love the gunmetal grey of these shoes. They work with absolutely everything and are a great change from black for summer. After about a week they are perfectly broken in, however I have one complaint. For the first week the piece between my toes seemed too big and was rubbing and caused pain. I waited out the pain and now they are the most comfortable shoes, ever! I always wear the flip flop style with the piece between the toes and never have a problem. Not sure why this was an issue, but it's something to keep in mind if you are sensitive between your toes. Overall, a hip cool comfortable pair of summer shoes!!

These took me a few days to get used to, but now they feel like I am walking on pillows. With in one day of wearing them the leather strap stretched out enough that I had to tighten them up a hole, but that was fine by me since out of the box I could only wear them on the first hole. I have wide and fat feet.

Look, if you haven't tried Birkenstock Gizeh, you're missing out. Comfy (even for an entire day of walking), cute, and yes, actually kind of stylish. I wear them all weekend. I wear them on the commute to work. I wear this particular pair (I have three colors) with nautical summer-y outfits. Try these once and you're sold for life, I promise.

I'll be honest, I just put these shoes on about 10 minutes ago, but am so happy that I decided to review them right away. I plan to write another after wearing them in. Needless to say, I am very happy with these shoes! I ordered them in the Toffee brown color and am happy with my choice. The picture is true to the look of the shoe: dark brown with a metallic wash over it. I like the subtle shine - it can go casual or dressy. As far as size, I am a 9.5-10 shoe US - really my right foot is a 10 and my left foot is a 9.5. At the recommendation of a woman at a shoe store, I ordered a 41 (converts to a 10-10.5) and am glad I did, rather than ordering down as other reviewers suggested. My right foot fits perfectly and the left just has a tiny bit of room in the back of the heel. This is not a problem after adjusting the T-strap to the second hole to keep it snug to my arch. I love the fact that these run a little wider than the average shoe as my feet are wide at the toes and narrow at the heels. I have just enough space width-wise and the heel cup fits well. Even just sitting and walking around my house, it feels good on my foot to have the arch support and heel cup - I also have high arches and can't wear just flat plastic flip flops any more. I am excited to break them in and get a little more flexibility in the soles. Then they will be perfect! As a side-note, I am very impressed with my order through Zappos. I ordered these shoes at 9:30pm last night and just received them at 4:30pm today. Wow. I also had to call customer service to fix a typing error on my shipping address and had a great experience. The wait was short (less than 10 minutes despite the recording telling me they were handling a lot of calls and had longer than normal wait times) and the woman I spoke to was friendly and accommodating. Thank you Zappos, you have earned yourself a new supporter!

I love them. Not really a Berk girl but saw everyone in Paris rearing them and looking good. Super comfy. Wear them every wear now.

Awesome! I wear a 10 in sneakers and ordered 40 and it fit true. No break in time for me. Cute and funky shoe. The plastic between the toes didn't bother me. I'm used to flip flops though. Buy them if you like them. They are adorable in person!

I really love these and may get another pair. They're comfortable, easy to walk in, and they don't look dorky.

I love these Birks! I have only ever had the classic originals, and was worried that I would have the same slippage issues that I had with the others, but these are entirely different and hold my feet in perfectly.

These are great! They are super comfortable and if you get the right color, they are cute too. I've had them for almost a year and love them!

Love them! Beautiful! Classy! Above all: comfortable. The best, nicest pair of sandals I've ever owned. Wore them on a cruise--including shore excursions and for smart casual nights at dinner. The dark black is very elegant and versatile--wear with jeans, a skirt, whatever. I have a bit wider foot and this fit perfectly. (The shoe showed up on my wide search even though there wasn't a wide option). Just order the regular width provided. I normally wear an 8.5 shoe and ordered 8.5.

As usual, this Birko-Flor lives-up to the Birkenstock name. It is good looking on the foot and so, so comfy! Perfect for year-round comfort!

This is the second pair of Birkenstick Gizeh's I've owned. I love the style, and comfort I get from this sandal; great arch support. I can walk miles on these sandals in one day and not have any issues with rubbing/discomfort.

This is my third pair of Birkenstock in this style and they are the most comfortable sandal I have ever had. To me they look sexy an sophisticated and they are good for my very high arch/instep. I almost wear them 24/7.

I was attending a family gathering and realized that I had left my sandals for my outfit back in the previous town. I already have 2 pair of these, but since I didn't know if my previous pair was going to arrive before the party, I decided to order this beautiful blue patent pair, which actually looked better with my skirt than the ones I had planned. I was so happy when the Zappos employee that answered the phone told me I could get it the next day Saturday, but that I would have to pay extra...well guess what, being a VIP worked for me that day because I got the Saturday delivery for less than the normal charge. They actually arrived earlier than my other pair, and I chose to wear these for my party. I let my mother borrow the other pair, after they arrived and my daughter showed up with hers on so we took a picture of all of our feet in our Birkenstock Gizeh sandals! I'm thinking I might send it to Birkenstock. I Love Zappos! Every person that answers the phone is friendly and helpful. Plus, I like to hear the Joke of the Day when I call...very cool.

I ordered these in the Red Patent, and I really like the look. They are well made and fun, but I am sending them back. ;( They are just too flat for me. Your foot is actually positioned in such a way that your heel is lower than the ball of your foot and I just cannot wear shoes that position your foot that way. I can and do wear flip-flops, I have several pair of the Teva Olowahu and love them. They have a foam sole that conforms to your foot and provides just enough cushioning and support for occasional wearing. I use them as 'slippers' around my house and for short errands. A little about me. I am 49 years old, am fit. Because of my age, I have noticed that my shoes need to be super supportive, especially in the arches or I develop tendon issues in my ankles and heels especially when my heel is low in a shoe. I am going to leave the ratings at 5 Stars, because I feel they are well-made, attractive and good shoes, they are just not for me, but I don't feel that is a reason to knock them in the ratings.

I had surgery on my Left foot in 2009 and since then I could not ware just any shoe, and to be honest shoes good for your feet are ugly! but I got my first pair in the summer of 2010 I walked around Kings Dominion from Sun up to Sun down and my feet did not hurt I will always be a Fan of Birkenstock Gizeh just wish the price would come down but hey it's worth the price and your feet will love you. But I have to warn you, you have to Break them in to match your feet and that can hurt but once that part is over you will love love love these shoes.

I love that there are so many fashion colors! This is my fifth pair...first pair is +12 years old and been resoled. I normally wear an 8.5-9.0 but sized down and the 38 fits perfectly. I have a high arch and bunions and I can walk/work in this all day. The last on this shoes hasn't changed, and that's a good thing.

I received these as a Mother's Day gift, and have worn them every single day for nearly a year. They are so amazingly comfortable and ideal for summer that I've become a Birkenstock convert. I can't say enough good things about these - I love them.

Love them, but too big. Ordered 39 like my other Birkenstocks, but I think they fit better because of back strap, which these do not have.
