I cannot express my love of these shoes enough. I love the metallic silver color and I have always loved the comfort of the Birkenstock foot bed. Gizah is a cool, classic style and I'm happy to have a new pair in my closet. I suspect that I will get many years of wear from these sandals. The Gizah style is "Birkenstock without the 'crunchy' stigma". They are cool and stylish with jeans, skirts and sundresses. I intentionally ordered a size up since Gizah tend to run a little small.

Great shoes with support

I have always worn the Florida style of Birkenstock so wanted a change. Not a fan of the Arizona so decided to try the Gizeh, even while knowing I don't LOVE thong sandals, ie. the feeling of the post between my toes. All that being said and reading another reviewer's post about the discomfort, I still went for them. Upon first wearing, I did find them to rub in between my toes, but I realized tightening the strap across my upper foot held my foot in place on the shoe bed and subsequent wearings were MUCH more comfortable. I actually like them very much now and enjoy having the option for a different look with certain outfits. Glad I stuck with them!

I love this style - you still get the great support and comfort with some style. I have about 5 pairs of these - I bought this pair for my Mediterranean Cruise this summer!

If your feet hurt this is the sandal for you. Love that they come narrow!

These are my favorite shoes! I can wear these all day and when traveling with very little foot fatigue, even with plantar fasciitis. According to the size chart, I should wear a 39 but a 38 is preferable.

Great alternatives for non supportive flip flops

I've been. Wanting these for a couple of years and they did not disappoint. Takes a couple days to get the real comfort going but wore them around the house for 3 days and they were good to hike in Cancun. They. So. Pretty.

I have hard to fit wife fit and Birkenstocks have been my lifesavers! I wish they would make some dressy shoes! And I always get them from Zappos. Their customer service is by far the best!

I love this shoe. I got the black patent, so they look nice wearing them with my business-casual work clothes and with jeans. They're comfortable and provide good support. They are definitely my go-to shoe. The only downside is they tend to give off that foot-odor smell, which isn't a problem I've had before. I read it has something to do with the material of the foot bed, but not wearing them for a couple of days or putting baking soda in them seems to help. Definitely not a big enough issue to deter me from recommending them or ordering another pair.

It's been many years since I've had a pair of Birkenstocks. I used to wear the Bostons to work as a nurse. They were excellent. As spring and summer were nearing, knowing my family would be going on vacations that required lots of waking, I decided it was time to go back to something I knew would not let me down. I've seen several friends in the Gizeh, and loved the look, and decided I needed to try them. They arrived today and I love them!!! I got the golden brown, the color is wonderful. I gave them a 5 star for comfort based not on what they feel like now, but on what I know they will feel like after I break them in. Yes, they are uncomfortable at first, they need to be broken in Order to mold to your foot. The size for me is perfect, although they do feel a little roomier in length (maybe 1/4 - 1/2 size) but I do not like my toes or heel to feel that they may potentially hang off the ends, so it's perfect. I wear an 8 in regular shoes and ordered the 39. I have a very average width foot, no where near narrow and not at all wide. I am very much a "B" width. Based on the width recommendations in the item description, I ordered the narrow. It is perfect. I feel the normal width would have been too wide. I cannot wait to break them in and for the weather to warm up so I can wear them. I'm already trying to decide what the next color will be!

I absolutely love these shoes. They are the perfect balance between flip flops and dressy sandals and they work just as well with a dress as they do with athletic wear. In addition, I have a hard time finding sandals that fit my larger than average feet that are still cute and feminine. I ordered the 42 and they were perfect in length and width, however, it did take a few days to break them in.

I always heard great stories about Birkenstock shoes and finally bought my first pair. They feel very comfortable and roomy. I still didnt wear them outside since its raining a lot lately. I walked in them around the house and love how they feel. Thank you zappos for always having the best shoes.

I've purchased a pair of these sandals each year for 5 years; they're so comfortable I can't wear anything else. And cute, too.

Hurt a little hoping will soften with wear

So far these feel pretty good. I did find I needed to order asize smaller than I usually do. They are pretty stiff and am hoping the soften up some by summer. But overall they feel good.

These are as chic as Birkenstocks can be. I wore my first pair on a trip to Europe and walked everywhere in them. I have moderately high arches and these are very supportive. I purchased the the black patent leather option and look great on. I read that these run a little larger, but that actually wasn't the case for me. When on, they look a teeny bit large on my feet but the half size down was way too small. These are a no brainer if you're looking for a comfort sandal that's not hideous.

I absolutely love this shoe. I have had problems with my ankle with tendinitis. Had surgery and could never find anything that was comfortable enough to wear long periods of time. These were recommended to me by a colleague who has several pair...and buying these were one of the best shoe purchases I've ever made!! Will be purchasing a new pair very soon.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I bought my first pair (the leather version) a year ago and after almost constant, everyday use, they're looking a little abused. They're still extremely comfortable, though, and despite their rough appearance, they're still a solid, if a bit grimy, pair of shoes. My second pair is a little bit stiffer but still quite comfortable, although I wasn't prepared for the foot beds: apparently my old pair has broken down and gotten rather flat. These are much more defined and have taken my moderately flat feet a bit of getting used to again. Even at that, however, I was still able to wear them all day long the first day out of the box. And not just to sit on my duff, either. The fourth day out, I wore them for a full day at Disney. Needless to say, I have no doubt that I will be purchasing these shoes over and over for many years to come!

I love love love these shoes. I've walked hundreds of miles in these and they still look great and are super comfortable.

Absolutely amazing! I love that I bought them online and they showed up 2 days later! I'm normally an 8.5 but the 39 fits perfectly! I love this site and use it all the time!

I have always been sceptical about Birkenstocks. They look like they would be hard and uncomfortable, but they have turned out to be extremely comfortable and great support. These are my second pair. I love them. I will definitely be buying another pair.
