While recently shopping in a famous shoe retailer, I came across a pair of Birkenstock: Gizeh Birko-Flor sandals which looked interesting (they were brown). I had never purchased a pair of Birkenstocks because, quite frankly, they always looked clumpy. This particular pair looked comfortable with a bit of style, and I thought they might work well with beach pants and ultra-casual jeans as an alternative to sporty urban sneakers. I usually wear a size 8 in most shoes, with 8.5 as a back-up if I need extra toe room. The store had a size 8 in stock, and I tried them on. I immediately LOVED the comfort, but because my second toe is slightly longer than my big toe, I worried that I might experience some rubbing along the shoe’s upper ridge with prolonged wearing time. Since they had no size 8.5 in stock, I decided to return home and check Zappos. I was thrilled to see the large color selection available from Zappos in this shoe. The reviews also confirmed my thoughts about toe-rub and getting the 8.5, especially because of the straps for adjusting the fit. I got the size 8.5 in the silver color - what a great addition to my summer wardrobe; they can accent almost any casual outfit. I am wearing them way more often than I ever imagined. Loads of compliments.

Although I don't typically buy wide fitting shoes, I do have wider feet. When I purchased the regular width version of these sandals though, they were too wide. I actually opted for the narrow size and they fit perfectfly and didn't look bulky at all. I was really surprise and happy to finally get a pair!

I got the Antique lace color in size 38 regular last year. I've worn it pretty frequently over the last year, and I do feel they are so comfortable! This is technically not my first pair, but the 1st pair I did get were when I was pregnant a few years ago, so my feet were too swollen (and I was emotional) to say anything positive about Birkenstocks, other than they were comfy and had to get them for practicality's sake. The Arizona style wasn't cute on swollen feet, but comfort was great! Now the antique color and the Gizeh style were both comfy and cute to me this time. Only problem was since this was my first time wearing them when my feet were normal was I didn't get exactly the right size. I can either wear 7.5 or 8, depending on the shoe style, but for these I think I could've sized down to a 37 (6/6.5), and they would've been a better fit. Which is a surprise to me as my feet are wider, especially after having a baby. My 38s are fine, but just a little looser than I'd like, though it'll be a transitional help if I were to get pregnant again. Recently got the Mayari in 37, much better fit. Love Birkenstocks!! I am so satisfied and happy with my Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flor purchase. It's worth the price and very well made and designed. It feels so comfy on my feet and I can't ask for more. It's perfect!

I love this sandal--on my second pair. Will try not to walk on wet grass with these, or slide damp feet into them--that turns the cork footbed dark pretty quickly, tho I think they end up that way over time anyhow. Can't beat the comfort and arch support.

So after multiple foot and ankle injuries in the last three years, I found myself saving up for my first pair of Birkenstocks at the old age of 45 (I came of age in the 80s and 90s when the Arizonas were pretty much ubiquitous and felt the need to rebel). I have wide feet and a high instep, so this style appealed to me. I also liked that it came in this pretty, on-trend silver. After watching and reading sizing tutorials I settled on Size 38 regular width. I wear a 38 in Dansko clogs, am a 7.5 or 8 in Keen, depending, a 7.5 Wide in Skechers closed shoes, and I take a women's 7 in Chaco sandals. Turns out the 38 was way too big. When I sat my heal at the correct place in the heal cup, there was a good .5-1 inch extra sandal above my toes, and most importantly, the arch was in the wrong place. Thanks to Zappos' stellar customer service, I was able to order the 37's and have them within two days. Like many others, I really wish Birks came in half sizes. The shoes now fit almost perfectly, except due to the shape of my feet my toes touch the edge just a little. But I really love these shoes and I could feel my back aligning as soon as I put them on. I am hopeful they will form to my feet because I can't afford custom shoes (that will in no way be as pretty as these). If Birks came in half sizes I would be saving up for a pair of closed shoes for fall right now. I still may but I am not hopeful because the 38's were too long and I am afraid of tripping on extra shoe and re-injuring myself again. As for the Gizehs, I see why they are so popular. For Birkenstocks they are really quite pretty. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Thank you Zappos!

I love these shoes! Exchanged for size. I was told to order 1 size smaller, for me they are true to size.

I've never owned a pair of sandals that fit my narrow feet so well! I wore them a few times around the house and then spent an entire weekend walking around Boston in them without any issues or pain. Plus they're so comfortable! Could not be happier!

I had birkenstocks in high school and college many years ago. These sandals are great but like many reviewers advise they do take some time to be get used to. My feet hurt after the first few days but now I have adjusted and they are great. I wore them on and off with another pair of shoes for about a week and my feet are comfortably accustomed to the footbed. I have no issue with the toe separator mentioned by other reviewers. I typically steer clear of backless shoes but the strap is high enough on the foot to keep the sandal on comfortably without slipping or the loud "flip-flopping" noise other sandals make.

If your foot is somewhat Narrow, order the narrow ones. Had to return regular width.

This is a very comfy sandal... once you're in the correct size. If there is pain at the big toe and second toe area, then they are likely too small. I went up a size and love these sandals! No pain in that area since.

I love these sandals! The footbed was a bit uncomfortable at first, and I wasn't sure if I should keep them. I decided to wear them around the house before making my decision, and it made all the difference. The footbed is much more comfortable and I can wear them every day!

I suffer from plantar fasciitis and these are the shoes that give me relief. And they look great!! Love love

I'm pretty sure I haven't taken these shoes off since the moment they arrived. These are seriously the most amazing sandals. I've never worn Birks before, so I don't have anything to compare these to, but I am now a fan for life. The silver is muted and goes with everything. Love, love, love. You won't regret buying these! I do think they run small, like other reviewers have mentioned. I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2 (size 38), and I ordered a 37 in these--they fit perfectly.

Needed to wear these for a couple of days to get used to them but, now that they are broken in they are very comfortable

Birkenstock never disappoints!

I ordered in a narrow as Birkenstocks are cut so wide & wasn't sorry I did. Though still a bit wide the regular would have been way too wide. First couple of wears were a bit uncomfortable but now extremely comfortable. My foot still slips out a bit when I walk my dog too quickly. Some reviews complained the thong was too hard but I'm use to thongs so it was fine with me . I ordered the 8N in silver. Love the look; not too chunky.

I bought these sandals for my daughter who has been wearing Birkenstocks for about 15 years! Her back bothers her when she wears most sandals - the Birkenstocks are the only ones that don't bother her back!! She loves them - has 4 pairs!!! Thank you for selling such an outstanding product! Roberta

I ordered a 37 narrow (my normal size) and it was HUGE and my foot was spilling over the sides. I tried a 37 regular and they were way to long but the right width. A 36 regular ended up fitting perfectly. I am typically a Euro 37 in all brands but these run big and narrow in my opinion. Super comfy once you find the right size and Thank You Zappos for offering free returns and exchanges! You guys made my life so much easier!

The silver color is great the insole is a little hard yet oddly comfortable.

I love these sandals. They are stylish and comfortable. The silver leather looks great with everything. I'd love another pair in another color! I am a size 9.5/10 so I had to order size 41.
