While slightly uncomfortable at first, the plastic piece between the toes isn't bothersome once "broken in (wearing them two or three times)." These are incredibly comfortable and still stylish. Can be dressed up or worn casually. Just be careful for any sort of transfer to the footbed. Dirt, liquids, oils, etc will all stain!

I have a few other pairs of Birks, but I needed something for summer. I'm pregnant right now and my feet never felt so good. These also looked great. I originally ordered the silver, but this metallic color is much more versatile. This is a hard to find color in stores. Thanks Zappos!

I am in love with this sandal. I was in a car accident which resulted in several ankle surgeries. I could not find any comfortable summer sandals until I found this! And not only is it comfortable, it is stylish as well.

I got tired of wearing uncomfortable sandals in the summer, as living in New York requires a lot of walking on concrete. Although these aren't the most stylish shoes I've ever owned, I still wear them in the daytime in Manhattan without feeling uncool. They are, hands down, the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, including Crocs. I bought the Antique Lace, which goes with everything and looks much nicer than it does in the pictures. It's slightly shiny/iridescent with a pinkish hue. I'm an 8/8.5 and the 39 was perfect.

First - I was so pleased I could get these shoes in narrow. The narrow shoe in combination with the fact that I can tighten the buckle makes for a perfect fit. When I bought this shoe, I made the commitment to work them in because everyone says that you have to and they were uncomfortable the first 4 or so times I wore them, but I think - a few blisters later - that I've got it worked out and I really feel like they've formed to my foot. I'm very pleased. Let's face it - they're kind of granola looking shoes, but I still think they're cute - love the silvery blue color.

I have always loved my Birkenstocks and these were no different. Yes, you have to get used to the plastic thong and yes I got blisters. But once you break them in, they are fabulous. Wish I had a pair in every color.

These sandals are super adorable and very comfortable! If you adjust the strap correctly, the piece between your toes does not rub at all, and they feel super good on feet with high arches. The bright red color is awesome! I put them on and my husband said, "Sexy!" They really are! I have owned lots and lots of Birks, and these are just another great pair that I will wear until they die.

These sandals are amazing. I've had them for about 3 weeks now and I'd be willing to bet there have been less than 5 days when I haven't worn them. Great footwear!

These shoes are AWESOME! At first they are kind of hard but keep wearing them and they will soften up! Once you wear these you will never want to wear flats again! Lol.

My doctor informed me that my arches are falling and I need arch suppert. I highly recommend these for comfort, looks and arch support.

I was super happy with my purchase. This was the first time I have ever used Zappos and it was great. I got the shoes I wanted at a great price and they came very quickly. I have worn Birkenstock sandals before and I have been looking for this style for a while. I had to give up and go to the internet, so I was thrilled to find them at Zappos. They are great shoes but they do not look too laid back, I even wear them to church. I am wearing them now and they look awesome with my freshly manicured toes! Thanks, Zappos!

As with all Birki's, I can literally walk forever with no discomfort. This lavender has a bit of metallic glow to it. Beware, as others have noticed, seem to run half size or so large, so if in doubt, order smaller. Zappos service/speed fantastic.

I love my new Birkenstocks. I've received multiple compliments when I wear them. I bought dress blues patent in size 38 regular width. I've been wearing a pair of Mayari style for a few years now in size 39. The 39 in the Gizeh were too big (the foot bed was too big). I typically wear a size 7.5 shoe and size up to an 8 if the shoe is only available in whole sizes. I've worn my new Gizehs for a month now and they are very comfortable, lightweight and durable. I highly recommend.

I've wanted these thongs in patent leather for years, and I'm happy I finally indulged. At a recent party while the other women were tottering around in their heels, I had on my sexy black patent Birkenstocks. Later in the evening when they were either barefoot or complaining of sore feet, I still had on my sexy black patent Birkenstocks and my feet were happy.

I love these Birks! I have never had a pair before as I felt they were too expensive, but believe me they are worth every penny. Also, they now come in narrow, a huge selling point to me. And compared to other casual sandals, are even less expensive than some. Zappos is just the best place ever to find narrow shoes, and their service unbeatable. I am so glad a friend told me about them.

Just gorgeous and another superior experience with Zappos. I ordered these last night and they were on my doorstep this afternoon! I am so pleased! The color I chose was the Red Rose and I was unsure of how bright these going to be but I took a chance and got them anyway because I just love pink. To my surprise and pleasure they are just perfect. They are more of fuchsia and they are not neon at all. Just a really pretty, tasteful pink. Of course, the fit is spot on and true to how a Birkenstock should fit. For those of you who had trouble with the plastic toe piece, this should not be uncomfortable and the space between your toes should not be up against it. For Birkenstocks, like the Arizona I wear a 38 but in Gizeh you must size up one size for them to properly fit so I always wear a 39 in this style. This should eliminate any trouble you have with the toe piece. I used to sell Birkenstocks and this is always the case with this shoe. Trust me on this one! Also the European sizing is a little misleading. In US sizing I am true 8, but in Birkenstock, the 38 is considered a size 7 and the 39 is considered size 8. So, if I am ordering the a Birkenstock, Papillio, Tatami without a toe piece I get the 38, and with a toe piece the 39. I hope that helps people with any sizing issues. Please do not give up on these shoes! I have 10 pair and I have had most of them for 8-9 years. They mold to your foot and fit like a glove. Your foot has to get used to the arches if you are used to wearing flats, flip flops or heels. Also, the Papillio model has less arch support and the Tatami has the most, with the Birkenstock footbed falling somewhere in the middle of those two. If the Birkenstock footbed has too high of an arch, consider the Papillio. Hope this info helps! Love these and I will be getting more colors for sure!

Love Birkenstocks. No break in time, comfortable from the get go. Wish they had these available in widths then I would have gotten a 38 wide. But the 39 still feels great.

Shoes are great. This is my second pair. They were too large and it was very easy to exchange them with Zappos.

Love my new Gizeh Birkenstock! Just make sure you order a size smaller. I wear a 6.5 (37) & ordered a 5.5 (36) and they fit perfect. So happy with them that I will most definitely be buying another pair (brown)!

What can I say except that this is my go to summer sandal. I have this sandal in three colors and they are the most comfortable sandal ever. Love them.
