As the rubber extends over the toe to the top of the shoe, it allows for more protection on those times you accidentally get stepped on. These shoes are made for many different conditions and can casually, or for longer walking periods. The rubber is very hard and the first time I wore them I got blisters on my pinky toes, but after a week they formed to the shape of my feet. This is normal in most shoes, and not everyone has that problem. The Brand Sown in on the Tongue of the Shoe A major part as to why these shoes are so popular is the brand, Converse: Chuck Taylors. Chuck Taylors have been a major part of fashion for many years. By having the brand name sown in as part of the shoe it gives an iconic look. This look is very fashionable, meaning it is a growing trend and very popular. The versatility I bought these chucks to wear during tailgate season, and as another option for tennis shoes to go with more casual clothes. Chucks can do a lot for an out-fit; they can work with casual and sporty clothes. I wanted to wear them with high top socks when work with Capri s or shorts. Otherwise I would wear with a low-cut sock so you can barely see them, which would be worn with skinny jeans. Those are just two different ways Chuck Taylor s are versatile. But I can t just have the charcoal color Chuck Taylors; it makes me want to buy different styles and colors. The quality of the shoes were fairly good and Zappos shipped them in an efficient and effective manor, just as they promised.

Ordering a half size smaller was great advice. These fit perfect. I like the charcoal color, they look nice. Relatively comfortable sneaker. Perfect for here in Florida with the hot weather. My wife thinks they are ugly...but to me they are great!

I don't know if these are the new generation but there is slight arch support in them. Also, the toe box is slightly narrower than the high tops I have. They're still Chucks though.

A lot of people seem to be wearing these for a retro look, but I'm an old guy who's worn them since the 60s. They are comfortable and inexpensive compared with the likes of Nike. I had to go up half a size because the correct length made my feet go numb. They were too narrow for my fat feet. Pounding the pavement eventually flattens the padding, but by then you'll need a new pair. Only reason I don't rate them 5 for comfort is that I also have Clark's Wallabys, which are my standard for the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

I love these Converse and have bought many pairs of them in different colors. I wear SuperFeet insoles with them, which provides extra arch support. My only complaint about these shoes is that they wear out too quickly - within a few months, there are holes in the soles, and the bottoms of the heels are all worn down.

This is a Chuck Taylor so you're not buying them because they're top quality and the most comfortable sneaker. You're buying them 'cause you think they're funky. As long as you understand that you're fine.

The shoes are exactly as you would imagine. Like all Converse, they offer very little in the way of comfort or arch support, but they are stylish and get the job done, if you are just looking for a pair of kick-around shoes. Also, like all Converse, they run especially long (almost a size and a half larger) and thin. If you have a wide foot, I'd stay away. I normally wear a size 10, but I'm an 8.5 in Converse. The colors and the style are great, though. You might want to consider different shoelaces, though. The factory-installed laces are quite long.

The shipping was quick and in great condition. Converse are never that comfortable but I bought an insert and they are great now. Also wish they made them in half sizes!

Love the classic style and the flat sole of these. However, in the size that fits my length, there is a seam inside that rubs against my toe uncomfortably. It will probably lessen as the shoes break in but it's less than completely comfy.

This Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Ox feels great. My daughter absolutely loved it and has put it on from the moment she opened the box up to the moment it was time to go to bed. She really adores it very much. great shoe and fit.

Chucks are an iconic and timeless shoe. They look great with pretty much anything (please don't wear them with dress pants) and they last forever. However, I do notice that after a while they hurt my heel and my lower back a bit. Overall, great shoe. Would purchase again and recommend.

I particularly think that the All-Star Converse shoes are simply different in a good way. There are some ups to these shoes, but they have some negatives as well. The first pair of converse I had gotten had lasted quite a while until I joined marching band. Converse can come in many colors that could go with almost anything. I particularly like the ankle-cut Converse because they are slightly more comfortable. The Converse can get too flexible, and will eventually fall apart. I think the flexibility of the shoe could be a little bit increased. If you're in a marching band, then you might want to reconsider your shoe choice.

Nice shoes and at a good price. These seem to be holding up great and are frankly much more comfortable than expected. The only issue I have is that because there are so many eyelets they can be a little annoying to get evenly tight along the whole foot.

The 1st pair of Chucks I purchased here felt a 1/2 size too big (I'm a solid size 12) so I purchased these at 11.5 and they fit perfectly. So whatever your size, purchase a 1/2 size down and you'll be good to go. Timeless design and the charcoal gray goes with everything.

Purchased 2 items, these shoes and a hat, as Christmas gifts. The shoes and hat were both delivered timely and the shoes were the correct size. However the hat was not the correct size and returned. Customer service from Zappos has not bothered to follow up on the return, offer to get the correct product to us, or determine what was the issue. Purchased hat from another retailer as a consequence of unconcern to correct the original order by Zappos.

My daughter loves these shoes! I had a very difficult time finding these shoes in 1/2 sizes. They run slightly large and the half size fits perfectly!

I love the look. It was just like the shoe I wore long ago. The recommendation was true that you need to order a size smaller than your normal size. They are so comfortable on my feet I can stand in them for a long period of time. I would definitely recommend these shoes. Great job, Zappos!

I bought this purely for looks and not comfort. In sneakers (asics, Nike) I wear a 7. So I downsized 1/2 a size per instructions and got the 6.5. Still a lot of room in the toes and started to look like elf shoes. I exchanged for a 6. The length was perfect. These shoes do run narrow, I'm guessing downsizing is purely for length because both sizes have the exact same narrow width. Haven't worn it yet so the jury is still out on quality.

I bought the size I normally wear. They do fit a bit narrow, but I'm hoping after lots of wear they will stretch out and be more comfortable. For right now they are comfortable enough that they aren't causing any discomfort. They are very nice and I can't wait to break them in!

True to size but they are not as comfortable at first until you wear them about a week and after that they seem to be more comfortable and if you order as much as half a size smaller you will feel it. Order your true size or suffer the consequences, I found this out the hard way and had to send them back for my true size.

They are super cute but, not comfortable at all. They are very heavy and not flexible. I bought them to wear around site seeing and feel that they were not a great choice. Though, I thought they looked cute!
