Disappointing. I had expected a leather sole, but it was rubber or Neolite. Also, one side of each shoe consisted of two pieces of leather sewn together instead of a single piece; this doesn't show in the photo.

I purchased these shoes for my husband in December 2014. The seam near the back heel split on one shoe in April 2015 and Zappos sent a new pair free of charge. Wonderful hassle free customer service! Unfortunately, now the soles have separated from the shoe. A beautiful shoe that doesn't hold up to normal wear. I expect shoes to be free from issues during the first year of wear.

I was disappointed with this shoe -- this time. I have bought it before without any problem, but this time the body of the shoe broke away from the sole. I understand this is possible, even probable, over time. But this happened too soon.

Very disappointed in these shoes. I do not wear the shoes everyday and am definitely not hard on them. The leather cracked within the first couple of months, and shortly thereafter, the sole began separating. Definitely would not purchase again.

First off Zappos shipping was super fast, and their customer service excellent. The shoes however were an utter fail for 70 plus bucks. One shoe had black stuff painted on it. After removing I found it was to hide scuff marks. Like some one wore them then painted black nail polish to bring the sine back for return. Their was also glue or something on both shoes. The finish is more like a synthetic leather, versus real, to glossy and cheap feeling. Im keeping them as I don't have a printer to do a return label otherwise they would be on their way back. I have seen shoes at Payless better put together then these. I thought the bass name brand meant quality guess this puts me off from buying their brand again.

They look like very nice shoes but I ordered 3E wide and I either got sent the wrong pair or Basses 3E is narrow.

Bass has changed the manufacturing template of Walton. I have a wide foot and an 11D used to fit me. The new pair ordered in DEC 2013 does not fit. I can not slip my foot into the opening at all. The materials seem to be the same, but the finished dimensions seem to be much narrower than before. Also the embossed logos have changed size/font. So you can tell new tooling was used to produce this shoe. Sizing was lost in translation when the old tooling expired. This is not the same shoe I've been ordering for the past several years.

These shoes get an overall rating of 2 because they are not durable. The heel wore out quickly and I had to throw them away because the upper separated from the sole at the inner side of the shoe. I owned these shoes for about 8 months and I wore them 3-4 times per week. At first the leather is a bit stiff, but it quickly softens up. They look nice and stay shiny. They are darker than I like and appear to be nearly black.

Worn for about a month only in office and out to lunch. Heel started peeling away from sole of shoe.

Great shoes for infrequent formal use. I've used them for daily work shoes 3-4 days a week for 4 months and they already have a hole in the air chambers of the heal. Every step I, and my coworkers, can hear the air escaping. Otherwise, they are very comfortable and have a classic look.

I was very disappointed with the width of this shoe. Although it stated wide width, the shoe was actually extremely narrow. I liked the look and style of the shoe very much, but unfortunately my foot didn't fit into the shoe.

Although, color selection tab indicates "burgundy," actual shoes arrived were virtually black. Only in bright sunlight is there a hint of burgundy, mostly along the stitching. Asked several co-workers, when package arrived at office, what is shoe color -- six said black; one said dark brown. Looking for true burgundy, "ox blood," maroon loafers. Placed these alongside black loafers, barely distinguishable, if you looked closely. I've worn nothing but loafers for 30+ years, most labels, Bostonian, Cole-Haan, Johnston & Murphy, L.L Bean (and yes, I been past customer of all four) have gone the darker burgundy virtually black (one color fits all) route. Is someone listening? Oh, forget trying to find a British tan/"Camel" summer loafer. They've gone the way of brass/gold-tone belt buckles -- only nickle buckles -- even with brown, burgundy(?).

Although I've purchased this shoe for years, the quality has steadily degraded to the point that they simply are a waste of money, now, I believe. Time was I'd get about 2 years wear out of a pair, but the last few pair barely made it a few months and the very last pair didn't even survive to the first shoe shine. The heels used to be solid material. Now they are hollow, wear rapidly like a pencil eraser and then crack through. The leather cracks at the creases. The last pair completely failed at the stitching. They'd be great shoes if you never wear them. I wouldn't have believed Bass could produce such a product, but I do now, finally. My advice, look elsewhere.

The sides of the shoe split four months after purchasing. Do not wear these but a couple of times a week. Zappos and Bass not able to help or stand behind product.

Had these for about 1 year. Not the quality or durability I was expecting from Bass. In about 3 months, the heels wear very worn, although I don't wear these often, maybe once or twice per week. Most recently, the shoe separated from the sole near the toe. This wasn't my first pair of Bass shoes, but may be my last.

I really liked the look of the shoes and found them to be quite comfortable after a brief break-in period. My quibble is with the quality. I bought these in November 2013 and wore them once or twice a week through the 2013/2014 winter (I live in Austin, so it's a moderate winter), then put them on a shelf. My job has a very casual dress code, so from around February through October I wear flip-flops to work. Then when the weather cooled down this year I started wearing them again. Yesterday I noticed that one of the heels felt funny, as if I had a big wad of gum stuck to it, but when I checked, there was nothing. I walked some more and they went back to feeling normal. Only later, when I took them off, did I notice that the sole of the right shoe was separating from the upper part. Granted, I didn't pay a fortune for these, but I would have expected them to be more durable than that.

I was very disappointed with these shoes from the moment that I opened the box. The rubber/synthetic bottom sole and heel do not look like they will last very long. And the uppers, although they are real leather, have an overly glossy finish that makes them look artificial. I am going to exchange these for a pair of Bass Logan Loafers which I have owned before and are a "real" shoe -- although $40 more expensive, it will be money well spent.

The leather split and came apart within days after receiving these --- surprising because Bass products have a good history. And I have not yet figured out how to get them replaced by zappos.com.

Ouch. The heels on both my left and right shoes completely collapsed. I've bought Bass in the past and have been satisfied, but they are now using a hollow heel (no kidding) that wears very poorly and collapsed on me after about 20 wearings. This is a first. I've never experienced this before but strongly suggest you not consider purchasing the Bass Walton until Bass finds a different design for its heel. That said, Zappos was fabulous about it and refunded my money.

Nice styling, nice fit but the side ripped out of these shoes within 3 months. I would not recommend Bass shoes ever!

I purchased these in September and the top has completely separated from the sole and the sold heel has holes in them. It is only February. He only wears the shoes to school. He does not do any physical activity in them because he is in Middle school. There has been nothing out of the ordinary wear and no roughness to the shoes.

What a disappointment. I never write reviews but this shoe did not last 6 weeks before the heel came apart from the shoe. What a waste of money. I bought the same Bass shoe earlier in the year and it did not last 3 months before the shoe came completely apart from the side. Never again.

The shank is short and weak, resulting in a somewhat uncomfortable - mildly painful, actually - wear. I will admit that I bought these because of the 1. good looks 2. cheap price 3. rubber sole, and also I will admit that I have worn them almost every day for at lest 6 months, despite the discomfort - and they held together well.

Stinks. I mean that literally. I bought two pairs, brown and black, and out of the box they smelled awful from some chemical or glue in the manufacturing process. The smell never really went away. After six months the sidewall separated from the sole on one shoe. Never again.

I agree with the customer who said this shoe is not the typical quality that I expect from Bass. My son wore the shoe to school for two weeks, and the leather tore away from the sole of the shoe. I have no doubt that Zappos will handle the problem, but I would not recommend this shoe.
