I'm a cook and this is my second pair of Super-Birkis. One of the chefs in culinary school told me about his clogs (as he called them) that were able to withstand very hot water for cleaning and that were very comfortable. I mentioned them to my mom and she found my first pair (from Zappos). Our chef was impressed and eventually got some for himself. When my first pair had had it, I knew it was time for another trip to Zappos! I got my second pair in blue just for a change and our sou chef was yet again impressed, they do look sharp. Obviously. these are comfortable or I wouldn't have gotten another pair. We're on our feet all the time (no sitting while on shift)and the old legs can get pretty tired. I, also, really like how clean the shoes can be kept. My first two pairs of cooking shoes were leather and they just couldn't stand up to the constant exposure of food, water and cleaners (bleach). They got pretty smelly, too. On the outside, I mean. My mom wouldn't let them in the house because they were so stinky and the dog went nuts! These,however, are great!!

Great shoes, but even better customer service -
I just bought the super-birkis for the first time and I am very pleased with it. These shoes are comfortable if you're constantly on your feet and standing for hours. However, I have arthritis and the back of my knees hurt after a while because these shoes do not really have shock absorbency so it's a little hard on the inside. The customer service here is EXCELLENT. They are nice and helpful; I even got my shipping upgraded for free. My only recommendation is that if your size 6-6.5, get the size 36(5-5.5) because these shoes are huge!

I was delighted to find Birkenstock's that actually fit. I spend a lot of time in my back yard and the Super-Birki does not mind a little water or mud. It washes right off. I appreciate the comfort it gives by feet without ruining a pair of Birkenstocks.

The most comfortable shoe!
This is my second pair. My first purchase was in 1999, I have walked all of Walt Disney World many times without the usual aches and pains that you have with normal shoes. These shoes have been through 5 years of hard walking. I even wore them when I had to cover a story after a tornado had destroyed a town. Everyone else was soaked and they were struggling with debris. These shoes were the envy of many.

A good shoe.
For people whose first three toes are the same length, I would recommend a larger size. These are (as are any birkies)very comfortable. I have a heel spur and can wear these for eight hours at work, and still walk the next day. They are wider than most shoes. The arches are average in height.

I had hoped the shoe would be good for work but it kills my toes and I cannot tolerate to wear them. Wasted my money. I think because it doesn't come in half sizes, my toes hit the hard front surface and makes raw even with socks on. I would get a size larger but am afraid it would be too big. I am on my feet for more then eight hours a day at work. I can't think of any shoes that has given me better comfort then the Super-Birki. After a long day cooking at work, my feet and legs don't ache from standing on the hard flooring in the kitchen when I have on my Birki's. They aren't the cutest shoe I own , but they are definitely the most comfortable. I would compare the fit and feel of them to the Birkenstock sandal. This comes from the cork insole being designed like the footbed of the popular sandal. The clogs stay on my feet, I never worry about slipping or walking out of them as I have with other kitchen clogs I have tried. They sit low to the ground so there is relatively no danger of 'rolling' your ankle. The soles are 95% slip/skid resistant as well. Overall, a great kitchen clog.

Super-Birki Rules!
I am on my 52 year old feet for up to 14 hours a day in a kitchen. So far, the Super Birkis have superceded any athletic shoe I have worn to do this work (I have a short, fat foot to carry my 115 lb. frame). I can slosh through water, walk on spilled grease and rinse off dried dropped refried beans. I only wish Zappo's could carry the Birkis Air Pro, which gives ventilation to hot summer working feet inside this polyurethene shoe. Zappo's is the best I have known for customer service, trust me.

Loving these shoes!
I'm a market gardener, in and out of greenhouses and gardens and on my feet all day. In just a couple of weeks, I've worn these standing for hours in the greenhouse while starting seeds, standing on cement at our booth at a Flower Show, and pruning raspberries. They are every bit as comfortable as my favorite Birkenstock sandals, slip on and off effortlessly, and are water proof. They may be my new favorite shoe.

Super Birkis superb! Way to go Zappos.
Just as billed! Super Birkis were relatively uncomfortable the first day, but thereafter fit like a glove!! Had them now almost a week and don't want to take them off. Received purchase from Zappos in Virginia within 2 days. Way to go Zappos. I would definitely order from them again.

I'm on my feet for 9-13 hours a day and they are great. As a chef, these are great work shoes; they just wipe off and they are ready to go. The shoes are marked 7 and 7.5 to 8 and 8 so there is a two-size width, but they give plenty of breathing room and stay on my feet without stepping out of them, even when walking backwards.

The foot bed is so comfortable! I have Plantar Fascitis and wearing the Birkenstock foot bed is like therapy for my poor heels and arches. I mostly wear them in the house and since I work at home they are wonderful. They aren't super stylish, but they feel great!

They don't fit.
I'm a nurse and have worn size 39 Birks for 10 yrs, and I'm puzzled that these feel TIGHT. I don't believe my feet are any bigger. I guess I have to go to the next size.
