Bought these for the operating room. They're very comfortable during 4 hour cases

Decided to try these clogs to replace a pair of the old style CrocsRX which are no longer made. I really like those Crocs and have not found any since that I like. The intent for purchasing these shoes is just to have something to wear when I am in the house - just general use such doing housework, etc. The first pair of Birkis I received were in my normal shoe size 9-9.5 but they were way too large because these clogs are really wide. I normally wear a medium width. When I lifted my foot they fell off. I returned them and got the next size down. They still felt pretty wide. Tried wearing them with a variety of socks of different thickness but they still seemed a bit wide. Wound up adding a set of thin gel inserts and that improved the fit and comfort. After about a week of wearing them they seem a bit more broken in but definitely feel more stiff and less comfortable than my Crocs. The support is much better than with Crocs but I am still not certain that I will wind up loving these shoes perhaps once they are really broken in I will like them more. Right now not so sure.

I liked this shoe but I decided on the Pro Birki which is basically the same except that the pro Birki has a higher back. I like the higher back because with clogs sometimes my foot will slid out of them and the higher back keeps them on securely. They are built very strong and will protect your feet..like steel toes but not any steel in them.

Love these shoes! Although I wear a 39 in all other Birkenstock styles, I had to return this for a 40. As always, Zappos exceeded expectations... I had my new size within 24 hours. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes really help although they are a bit hard.

More comfortable than I was expecting- I wore them for 12 hour shifts on my feet and a lot of walking up and down long hallway with minimal break in time. Seem best for standing long periods than for fast walking, but overall would recommend for nurses, chefs etc.

These shoes are ugly but comfortable! Buy a size down. I'm normally a 38 (wear that size in the sandals) but had to buy a 37!

I wear these to my office. They are not pretty by any means, but they are comfortable. I broke my foot a few years back & am limited to what shoes I can wear because my foot is still swollen & hurts a lot. These shoes are great. As like any Birks, they mold to my foot for comfort. My foot does not tire in them at all.

These are very cute, but were larger than the many other Birkenstocks that I own. I have a moderately high instep, but even with thick socks, this one was too high to hold the shoe on my foot, important in a clog. Also, please note, a card enclosed with the package gives special care instructions for the patterned styles...not as easy to care for, if you want to maintain the pattern for which you paid more.

Definitely does not breathe! I'm a nurse and on my feet all day. Be sure to wear cotton socks!

I am a Pastry Chef and have gone through three of these pairs of shoes in the past four years. I hesitated switching to a clog because I did not like how the heel slips but the fit of the of Active Birki was perfect, especially when compared to the Professional Birkis. I could slip in and out of the Active when I wanted to, not every time I took a step. But, again, I have gone through three of these shoes in the past four years. The first pair, the top of the clog nearest to my ankle began to split just after six months. I wrote Zappos and they credited me the pair. So, I got another pair. That pair lasted for 2 years before the rubber began to split on the right hand side of the clog, allowing water to flood my foot. Well, that second pair lasted 2 years, so I went ahead and bought another pair. One year later, the rubber is splitting in the same place that it did on the very first pair. I really love these shoes but the long-term durability of the rubber is questionable. I wish Birkenstock would make the Active Birki apart of their Professional Birki series because I really love the fit of the Active but I cannot buy a new pair of shoes every year. This is a great pair of shoes if you are not on your feet for 12 hours everyday.

I am a medical student rotating in the hospital, which means long hours on my feet and hard floors. At the end of the day, my feet are not tired, swollen or achy, and my back feels great. A few comments: 1. They don't breath at all. I wear wool/synthetic blend socks for moisture control which helps, but after 6 weeks they kind of stink! Invest in some deodorizing shoe balls and make yourself happy. 2. Since there is no heel strap, the shoes tend to slap on the floor as you walk. Better for standing in place then running around. 3. The area over the top arch of the foot is quite spacious. I have a low volume foot, so i kept slipping out. Applying a line of foam moleskin cured the problem.

I normally wear a 42 in Birkenstocks (Boston, Arizona, Florida) but had to return these for a 43 as my toes hit the end a little bit. Would definitely say they run a half size small compared to regular Birkenstocks. They also are pretty high-volume (and of course there are no straps to adjust), so unless you have very high arches, you'll probably need to wear socks or add a cheapo Scholl's insole or something beneath the footbed. These are very supportive and soften up after a half hour or so of wear (very inflexible to start). Footbed does not seem as aggressive to me arch-wise as regular Birkenstocks. Very stable, seem pretty non-skid, and you can just hose them off. I got them to save my suede and leather Birks from getting trashed when I cook, run out to the barn, or take the dogs down the yard.

I have these in bright yellow and I love them. I will say that these run wide (I typically wear a narrow in Birkenstocks), and it's too bad they don't come in narrow sizes, too. They're fun shoes - I didn't buy them for a job, just fashion! They're easy to keep by the door and slip on in rainy weather, or to run errands on the weekend. Once, I wore them to the office on a casual Friday, and my co-worker gave me a high five. The lighter colors can be tough to clean, but other than that, mine have held up well for 4 years and counting.

Birki's Super-Birki - First, I can't say enough about Zappos great service. I ordered these shoes at about 5:30pm and they were at my door by 9am the next morning. I am nurse working 12 hour shifts- most of which is standing/running around, and these shoes are the only ones I have tried thus far that don't leave me with aching feet at the end of my shift. They would be perfect if they were a little more breathable. I find them to be a little goofy looking, but comfort beats style any day!

Good shoe if you can fit your foot properly - I really like this shoe-very sturdy with good support. My only complaint is that one shoe seems to rub on the tip of one of my toes-very annoying & uncomfortable. I didn't notice it until I started to wear it so it was too late to return it. However, because the shoe is so firm I don't know if the next size up would work.

They are not bad at all - The sole is a little harder than what I expected. It seems like I just have to get use to wearing them,for them to be completely comfortable to me.

Good work shoes- Much better than the average steel-toe Chef/culinary shoes as for comfort and fit. The "looks" are a bit funky, but since I'm on my feet all day I'd rather go for the comfort!

Good slip on shoe- I found these shoes to be comfortable for shoe periods of time, but when I wear them all day my feet sweat from the lack of ventilation. I would suggest ordering a size larger than you normally wear in Birkenstocks if you would like to wear socks with them. If you are looking for a comfortable clog for all day wear I would suggest getting a pair of Crocs. I like my Crocs better than the Super-Birki.

Very satisfied with purchase. All the other reviews were correct. These shoe fits wider than normal (I am an avid birk wearer and this clog was wider than my shoes). Your feet do warm up quickly, but I am always cold so that does not bother me. Perfect for gardening, slipping on for errands, and stylish for work. I plan on getting another color (I have the black ones) for spring time.

Strange sizing, would be good for wide feet. My feet are pretty narrow/regular but these felt like they were kind of short in length but so massive in width that I had to shuffle my feet when walking or they'd fall off. Maybe good for gardening but not practical for a job where there is walking involved at all!

Way too wide and big

This shoe was way to hard. It had no cushion!
