I purchased these boots for my adult son for his birthday. He had a pair in his teens that he loved and wore for at least 10 years. Needless to say, they last forever! He wears a wide and this wide is perfect. I love Zappos service and how fast they ship.

Quality, sturdy work boot. Comfortable from day one.

Thought these would be good boots after examining leather and stitching...the latter uniformly superb. The lace welt is riveted to the upper part of the boot and the lace holes are aggressively metal-reinforced...the top 4 hook lace-grabs are Double Riveted. As a kid in the upper Mid-West, I loved ice-skating come Winter...but dreaded the long break-in period of the skate boots. Thought these Second Shift ST would take a long time to break-in...and, admittedly, they took around 4 wearings. This did not bother me as great boots TAKE TIME TO BREAK-IN. (Kids today, have no concept of a break-in period for footwear...and do not realize that fine leather boots DO take time to form to your feet...but OH, THE REWARD. Well made boots...after they are well broken-in, feel like your favorite pair of soft moccasins. Congratulations, CATERPILLAR..and thanks for an affordable and extremely well-made pair of Men's Boots. Cheers!

Bought the Caterpillar 2nd shift steel toe boot, to replace my old work boots I had for over three years. They fit really good for the first time. Still have to wear-in a little more, but they fit good and will work out just fine for work.

This is the type of boot that I have gotten before and it lasted longer than others I had in between. A good sturdy and comfortable boot.

I ordered these for my boyfriend, who is working on different fields around and under homes. He said they are very comfortable with the WW width and the size just perfect. He also said they are cool looking.

I tried this boot on in a Big Name store and loved the way they felt. Very well made and has a thick sole. The steel toe is not noticeable when you have them on. I have had other boots with steel toes and could feel the edge. I highly recommended these. You can't beat the price either from Zappos because they were more expensive at the Big Name stores.

These were exactly what my husband wanted! They are very durable, with very thick soles. These are not just look alikes, compared to other brands. They are actually made to work in. They run true to size and are warm.

I do not remember these boots ever looking as good as they do pictured above, but I did not get them for their good looks. The soles are thick and comfortable even when walking around on crushed rock all day. They have a nice heavy feel.

These boots have a great matte finish to the leather that is rather stylish and will still survive some abuse. I purchased these specifically because they met the strict ASTM standards required at my work. Considering they have the stronger steal toe and are a bit heavy because of it, they are rather comfortable; I was able to wear them out of the box for a whole day without any problems.

These are sturdy and look nice. I find these pretty comfortable, but if worn for a very long day, could maybe be better with some Dr Scholl's inserts or something. I have wide feet and these do the trick for me. Overall, I really like these - no regrets.

Purchased these boots for my son's first real man's job. Works for the city doing concrete, asphalt, mowing, ditch digging...oh yeah, also fills graves. On his feet all day and loves his boots! Had to return the first pair as they were a half size to large. Just not the same as his casual wear or soccer shoes. Return was easy and had the correct size in two days. I'm impressed.

Well made, excellent construction. Good fit right out of the box. Main use is logging.

I've been wearing these boots for years. They were very comfortable from day one and I had no break in issues. I started buying these boots in 2001 and I still have the very first pair. I wore them working in some very tough places including four years in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. These are work boots, not dress or casual shoes. If you take care of your equipment, including your work boots, they will last you for many years.

These boots have lasted a couple of years in a tough workplace environment. They hold up well and are really comfortable.

My husband is a mechanic and is on his feet all day. This is his 3rd pair of the Caterpillar 2nd shift steel toe boots and he loves them. They provide good support, with comfortable cushioning around the cuff. The steel toe has saved him some squished toes from dropped tools, tires, etc. The only reason he has to replace them is the constant exposure to chemicals that eventually damage the leather. If he'd let me wax them, they might last a bit longer but he won't let go of them long enough for me to do that!

Ordered these for my son who just got a job as a mechanics helper! Size 14 is hard and these were great and on sale! Awesome, one of the few places I can always find a good variety of shoes for him.

I have flat feet...all my life I've suffered from that condition and as I got older and heavier it worsened. Had doctor made inserts made (expensive but worth it) and when I bought these work boots I got them 2 sizes bigger and extra wide. I use the prescription insert sandwiched in between two gel inserts. Got a nice fit and turns out the shoe is super comfortable from day one. I'm on my feet 8hrs a day in my security job and they don't call these the walking shoes for nothing. Best shoes/boots I've bought in a long time. Not bad for a steel toe footwear.

Awesome boots made tough for my type of work. Construction demolition. I've gone through a couple pair of boots in a month. These boots on the other hand have barely been broken in. Comfortable once they're broken in. Ankle support and arch support also awesome! All around perfect work boots!

I bought these particular boots in this particular color because it was the one on sale. Little did I know that I would absolutely love these boots! The color is awesome and goes well with almost everything! The build is sturdy and feels good on my feet. I walk about three miles to work every day and I have not had a single problem with these boots!

Boots were not what I "thought" I ordered (no steel toe) and not sure who was at fault-lady but customer service was wonderful. She upgraded me to boot I needed w/o up charge-took care of everything in a rapid manner return, credit etc in a most efficient courteous way! Keep up the good work Zappos!

I ordered a size 7 and the first was heavy and a little larger than I would have liked

I think I got the wrong size, I need size 11 if you can provide or let me choose something else

Love these. Look great. Old school. The steel toe is too much for me as a delivery driver. And it’s a heavier shoe as a result. It nonetheless this is a top quality great shoe.
