An 8D usually fits me. This shoe didn't; narrow, tight, and short

I have been wearing Rockport boat shoes for years and been very satisfied with the style, comfort and sizing. So when I needed a shoe like the World Tour Classic, I did not hesitate to order a size 14M. However, I had to return them because they did not fit. How? I could squeeze my medium width foot in the shoe but the top of the shoe pressed down so hard on the top of my foot, I could not wear them. The length was perfect. The width felt like it would have been OK but because the top of my foot was pressed down on, I could not be sure about the width. I do not consider the problem with the fit of this shoe to be either length or width, but rather that the shoe was simply too tight, not enough room for my foot and I did not believe that it would ever stretch enough for me to wear, so I returned them and bought a similar pair in a different brand.

Sole is hard as a rock! Feels as if I am walking with plywood soles with no give or cushion. Would not recommend this shoe to anyone doing any amount of walking.

Had two pairs of this style in the past that were the wide width. Loved them. The new model does not really give the added width that I would expect with the extra wide that I ordered. If you want a wider toe box I would advise against this shoe. When I tried them on at home I guess I was wearing a lighter weight sock because they felt comfortable. Switching to a mid weight sock(theses are called walking shoes after all) I found them to be too snug. Maybe they will loosen up but would not purchase if you are looking for a wider more comfortable toebox. Especially not for travel.

It just doesn't fit my foot -- too cramped in all three directions

They are too tight. The issue is they really aren't 4E as indicated. I would estimate they are really D or maybe 1E. Rockport must have changed their standards because I've been wearing their wide shoes for decades without problems. I suspect the company got sold and is now under different management - probably thin-footed foreigners. I am keeping this pair in agony because I don't have any other presentable shoes at this point. Hoping they will stretch out a bit. This is probably my last pair of Rockports. I've been wearing them since the late 1970's.

Loved the look and style and if I had known how to get the right size would have been happier. Have begun the return process and they seem to be great about that. Originally delivered on time and really love the shoe, it just doesn't fit right.

Solid shoe, but I was looking for something more lightweight and cooler in the summertime. The Zaden Ubal Oxford is more like I was looking for so I ordered that model which is a good looking sneaker-weight shoe.

I loved everything about these shoes except for the fact that the tongue is very stiff and short, which means that it dug into my ankle and caused too much pain to even consider learning if breaking them in would soften that. Returned after wearing indoors for an hour.

Ordered size 10.5. Same as all other Rockport shoes I wear. This pair smaller. Returned. Not happy with the sole hardness also. Online ordering not the best for me.

I love this shoe and have owned at least two pair with no complaints. I recently ordered a replacement pair in my usual size 10 and they were much too small. I called and customer support told me that occasionally the sizes of a run of shoes will be somewhat different than usual and that I should consider reordering a size 10 1/2, which I am doing. Any return is a bit of a hassle, but the return via UPS was as smooth as possible. I'm waiting to see if a size 10 1/2 does the trick.

Have used Rockport shoes exclusively for 20 years since developing knee problems and then knee replacement surgery 10 years ago. I walk and hike every day, about 3 or 4 miles per day. This latest pair of shoes I notice have a fairly thin insole compared to some others and I have felt some foot-sole discomfort. Have not been able to test out other models in stores.

Not properly sized, almost impossible to get on and off. Supposed to be a 10.5, it is much too small. Will have to return. Also the sole is a cheap hard plastic that is rigid and noisy.

They were very tight and did not offer any wiggle room. My wife had to pull off one of the shoes for me.

The size on this model is quite different from other Rockport shoes (I have worn over last 35 years). My previous pair was 11M and was wide. I ordered 10.5N and it was very small. Returned it and ordered 11N - again too tight and about 3/8" shorter than another 11M I ordered. I have to return this pair too.

Some shoes I wear 15 D but others I need 16. It seems these were quite skimpy on size. I first ordered a 16 D and my toes jammed in the end. So I returned and ordered 17 D and the length was OK but they were too narrow such that the laces weren't even quite long enough and they were tight on my feet. There was a time when I wore 15 D in Rockports so something has changed. Especially given that some shoes I can still wear a 15 D, I am learning some of the brands I need to go up in size for a good fit.

The fit seemed right for my 14N foot.
The quality of the shoe is much lower than the Rockports I bought years ago. I'm told the brand has changed hands multiple times.
