I bought these shoes in 1997 and they are still going strong. I normally wear out shoes in 6 months. The soles on these shoes are just now starting to wear and they have TONS of mileage on them. This has been the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned and I highly recommend them.

Try them a little longer - they are great.
To Steve Gruner of MD. Try them a little longer. I know exactly what you are saying. They are a little heavy, but that's just because they are so well made and long lasting. My wife bought me a pair 3 years ago. I felt like you. She kept after me to wear them. Now, they are my most comfortable shoes ever. Any amount of walking and you will want these shoes, they are THAT comfortable. And mine are made in China too.

The Best & Most Comfortable Shoes I've Ever Had.
I’ve owned a Clarks men's "TREK type" shoe since 1994. Made in Portugal (as #3103). I have never really felt so comfortable and so well equipped to go anywhere and at anytime with them. They make me feel restless and always willing to keep walking and walking in a very relaxed and positive posture.

THE best shoe I've ever owned.
I purchased my first pair of Trackers in 1996 and after 5 years of almost daily use, the soles were beginning to show some wear. I searched all around St. Louis and was unable to find them. Zappos to the rescue!
I can whole-heartedly recommend both this shoe and the folks at Zappos.com.

Best shoes I've Ever owned.
I have been wearing these shoes for 3 or 4 years. They're comfortable and maintain their good appearance with just occasional cleaning. The soles are outstanding and show very little wear after years of daily use by a BIG man. I would recommend these shoes to anyone and hope they're never discontinued. What a shoe! I was happy to find them at Zappos.com.

Outstanding Product.
Sorry I didn't buy this product from Zappos as it cost me $39.00 more than their price!
I dont think there is a more comfortable shoe on the market. They felt like heaven the first time on. I've had them for close to 3yrs now and will wear no other shoe. What really surprised me after
giving them no attention over time was when I
polished them for the first time they looked like they just came out of the box!
Clarks also has a policy that you can wear them for a period of time and if you don't like them you can return them -no questions asked!
I don't have much of an instep so tennis shoes are out of the question. If you have this problem then Clarks' are for you.
One other small point of interest is that the laces have yet to break! I hate that when you have to tie the broken ends together until you can go to the store.
Thats all -just 100% comfort and durability!
I'd also recommend:
NONE - ONLY THESE!

Almost perfect -
I have owned a pair of Clarks’ tracker for over 3 years, I use them for almost any occasion, but sadly the sole started to separate from the shoes and I had to replace them for a pair of Clarks' Terrain.

I liked my last pair -
I had a pair of Trackers before and liked them. They lasted a long time. The new style is more attractive, although the arch support is a little less than I had hoped. The soles were slippery when wet and new, although it improved after a short time. They do seem a little stiffer than the older ones when new, but are overall still a nice shoe.

Clark's Tracker -
This was the second pair of Trackers that I have ordered and I am pleased with this pair as much as the first. A very comfortable shoe, delivered within a few days of the order and a perfect fit. I will be ordering more Clarks shoes from Zappos after receiving a high quality shoe and service.

Clarks Tracker Comments -
This is a very heavy and durable shoe. Lots of support and decent comfort. These shoes run large, so order a half size down. I bought wide, and it is very wide indeed. If you like heavy feeling, soft cushioned shoes, this is your shoe.

I had worn a pair of Clark Falconer casual shoes until the soles wore out--a great deck shoe. Zappos didn't have that model but did have the Tracker in my size. The looks are great and the fit is good. However, it is not even close to being as comfortable as the Falconer. Walking or standing in them for 8 hours makes you appreciate taking them off as they are quite heavy. I should have kept looking for the Falconer.

A fairly nice shoe. Won't have to break these in. Bedroom shoe comfort. These shoes run big on me though, but I don't think it's to the point where I will have to return them.

Not a true Clarks -
These shoes are not as comfortable nor constucted as well as the more traditional Clarks. In particular, they are heavier, do not breathe as well, and the soles tend to squeak on certain surfaces.

Took some breaking in, but comfortable with Throlo socks. Was big in toe, but due to design of the shoe.

Is Tracker a new version of Caribou?
I'd like to know if Tracker is the new name for Clarks' Caribou, with a thicker (and much less attractive) outer sole. I bought a pair of Caribous in 1997 and, aside from resoling, the only thing that doesn't still look almost new in 2003 is the interior -and I've worn them 90% of the time since then, including all over Japan and back. The shoe has the same poorly-designed metal loops people are complaining about in the Tracker (not a big problem), and the interior heel lining wore out inexplicably while the shoes were still fairly new, so I had to have them relined with leather, and they were fine. It's really been a great shoe, and I wish Clarks hadn't discontinued it. (Why do near-perfect things always disappear?) If the Tracker is the new version, I'll probably get a pair if I can get used to the beefy, moulded, oversize-truck-tire look of the outer sole. Just not my kind of image...but the shoe may be good. BTW my Caribous are Chinese-made and the workmanship is fine. Perhaps there were some defective materials in the lining, but the basic shoe is as good as any other Clarks shoe. (I started wearing their Desert Boots as a kid in the 1950s.)
I'd also recommend:
Clarks, Ecco, Seibel, other (too-expensive) European designs.

Comfortable shoes with poorly designed hooks
The tracker is an excellent work shoe, that looks great. My main problem with the shoe however, are the metal lace hooks which are not very strong and tend to open over time

clark trackers
ive owned a pair of trackers for years. The problem with these are, the metal hooks for the laces tend to pull out, and they have absoultely no grip on any wet surfaces,on ice? forget it,they are downright dangerous. Comfort? I'll give them that. They feel nice.

Comfortable walking shoes. Have not had problems with the eyes. However, the sole delaminated from the upper and when that happens it is goodbye.
