What a wonderful find. I have two pair: one for walking the dog (raspberry) and the other for work (black). Easy to slip on. They feel good on your feet, especially if you are on your feet a lot during the day. The shoe overall is much more rigid than Crocs. Super easy clean up. Just what I was looking for. This shoe is a good alternative to Dansko/Sanita clogs if you are looking for variety.

I tried them on after a half day at work on my feet and they felt incredible, the pain was somehow absorbed into the footbed. The only problem was that I inadvertently ordered Reg Width instead of Narrow, darn! Would love it in real leather.

Attractive? No, but I got them for work because I stand all day. I followed other reviewers' recommendations and ordered down. The large fit takes a little getting used to but they are awesome. I had a little knee/hip pain the first day that I am chalking up to my body getting used to being properly aligned. The best part of all is I woke up the next morning with no back pain. I've been suffering with chronic back pain for over a decade. I will be buying more of this brand.

These shoes have great arch support but killer on my toes. And the shoe kept flopping and knocking my socks off. They were my correct size. Seems like a great shoe I'm a little disappointed .

These were very comfortable but I did not get the sizing right, normally I wear a 8-8.5 so I ordered a 39 but it was at least one size too large.

I bought these for my husband in 2010. Three years later, they had survived general surgery chief residency, and an excruciating transplant surgery fellowship. I'm pretty sure that they have been worn for more hours standing that the average person stands in a decade. We did have to replace the insoles once (which really is where the support comes from), which is a cost savings from buying a whole new pair, but the outside has held up just fine. We bought these shoes to replace a pair of Danskos that had given my husband a fracture on the top of his foot. He couldn't be happier with these shoes. Has no more foot, knee, or back pain since he started working in them. The only reason we are purchasing a new pair right now, is because we stuck them in the autoclave (after reading vicious rumors online), and they melted. FYI: Birkis Professional are not auto-clave safe!

I loved the concept of weather resistance and foot comfort/support but noticed the top of my left foot was very sore at the end of the day. It's as though there just isn't enough room in that spot. Also I had to insert a thin foam insole for comfort. The hard plastic was not sufficient.

After my first fitting...I boxed them and said "back you go.' I was ready to send them back quickly but I decided to read more reviews. So these clogs are on my feet once again...as I'm typing this. They do feel an itty bit snug in the middle of my feet. Toes have room and heel is loose. I get they aren't suppose to be snug. I've worn Crocs...but long before those mistakes. I've worn good old wooden clogs growing up. My feet are almost squarish but as I'm getting older my flat feet are having issues. Heel Spur issues and of course bunions! All those years of walking and having extra weight on my bones have caught up to me; however, I won't let that get the best of me. I needed something I could wear to work and not wear sneakers or leathery nurses shoes. I work in retail, so being on my feet is a necessary activity. One foot is pretty okay but my left is achy...big toe hurts, bunion, swelling on the top. Heel spurs not too much and I do stretch out my feet each morning but I'm not crazy about any ritual each day. So this shoe seems to be "pretty good" for now. I can run (in the house) a bit. I won't wear them hiking or in massive downpours but I will sport them. These shoes do want to hold onto my feel around my "archless areas" and the toe room is great; although since I do have a bunion that makes the fit in the toe area questionable. I love that I can pull out the insole and replace with my $600 orthotics...don't worry I ignored they arrived at the Dr's office (5 months) and my deposit of $150.00 is all I paid for them. I mean really, most insurance plans aren't going to eat that cost, why should anyone. These remind of my slippers yet...they aren't falling off as I walk, as those have stretched out...these won't stretch out. I would like to try one of the other...non-professional series in a color. First a whirl with these and I will keep my critique updated as to my experience. Thank you Zappos for allowing shoppers to critique and return for free. I've been a long customer for nearly 20 years. I know my feet and it's a great way to try what you know and what you think you know will fit your feet. From the Zappos door to yours...and all for Free! Kudos for being a great online retailer.

Just got my pair of these and love them! Good solid construction and comfy but I have 3 pairs of Birks and I should have known to order a size down. I normally wear a size 39 but got these in record time, by the way, and they where a tad too big so I am sending them back for a size 38 which I know will fit perfectly per looking at past reviews. Can't wait to get them.

Love them! At first I wanted to return them. But once you get used to them and are 'broken in' you'll love them.

I have worked in kitchens my whole life and I stand on my feet for eight hours a day. I have difficult (wide, pronating) feet. I love these clogs. They are extremely comfortable and durable and fit like a dream. The formed footbed and open toebox of a Birkenstock do well.

I really wanted to like these. I have been looking for a more cushioned alternative to Dansko's. These have a great arch support, but are so unattractive. The big toe is a little pointed and curled up like an elf shoe. And they are extremely wide.

Comfortable. Fits larger than other Birkenstock footwear. Gave them to a friend who has larger feet than I do. I am going to order one or two sizes smaller.

If you have middle toes that are as long as your big toe, these clogs will likely not work for you. One foot was fine, but on the other the middle 2 toes were pressed up onto the ledge at the front, and these will likely need to be returned after trying one more time in the morning. It's a shame, since I needed some super-comfortable shoes for work, but these will be painful, so no go. A note on sizing - these run about .5 size smaller than typical Birkenstocks, so I sized up, hoping that it would cover on the toes. Not quite. Be aware, and your mileage may vary.

Aging Chemist - I'm a middle age chemist who is on her feet sometimes eight hours a day standing on a concrete floor. By the end of the day my legs and especially my knees are usually killing me. This shoe seems to be the perfect for my work environment while also offering comfort and support. Only complaint, is that it runs large. I ordered a 39 based on some of my old Birki's / Birkenstocks that I still have and love. I usually wear an 8W in American sizing. However, these were large on my foot. I'm returning and trying the next size down, which I hope work as I really like these.

Seriously? Beware, these were huge! I wear a 7.5 or 8 and had to order a size 4! Overall, I like the shoe as I am in surgery all day long and these will work great.

I used to wear my Danskos for the first 5 years of my career. They were great for my back, but terrible on my feet. I have small, wide feet. I switched to the professional Birki’s 10 years ago and will never change back. I can stand and cook for 14 hours with no foot pain. My toes are free and the shoes are just big enough that I can kick them off easily if I spill hot stuff on my feet. They are the best shoes I have ever worn. I am a lifer in these shoes. Oh--and they are NOTHING like Crocs. Crocs are cheap and have zero non-slip protection. No cook in my kitchen is allowed to wear crocs.

I was really hoping these shoes would fit. I have a long, narrow foot and they felt short and way too wide and just uncomfortable. I got on recommendation from someone who has short, wide, feet and she loves them, so I guess I should have known they would not work for me. I need something for the culinary industry and these would have fit the bill if they fit right.

OK, I have worn Danskos for 12 years wanted a change I wear a 41 in Danskos, so I got a 41 too big needed a 40 and I have wide feet normally wear a 9 in ladies. Anyways, these shoes are just like Crocs sweaty and not for long hours.

The first day I put them on I thought they felt weird. I heard that you have to break them in so I went with it. Normally I buy 20 Crocs from the local outlet and I must say I have never been disappointed. I decided to go with something different thinking more money must mean better quality; boy was I wrong! yes the shoe is better quality but I feel that my feet hurt more than before, the insole inside moves quite frequently and there is no breathability! I take my shoes off at the end of the day (I'm a chef 12+ hours a day) and I can literally pour sweat out of the shoe, not to mention the more you sweat the more your feet slide inside the shoe. I have never had this issue with Crocs and I wish that I'd saved my money.

I was hoping to wear these at work instead of heavy Danskos. Ordered a size down so I could wear it with pantyhose. It was still so loose I stepped out of it. It is a light comfortable clog. Meant for standing not for walking. Good for gardening. I had a pair years ago.

To get the proper fit, I had to order two full sizes below what I normally wear. Now that I've done that, it is a very comfortable fit.

Read a lot about Birkenstock shoes and how they are great for nurses, had been wearing Dansko clogs forever and they weren't working out. I thought I would try something new. These were much much worse than my Danskos. I am a nurse and stand all day (12+ hours), my feet hurt so bad, even until the next day when I woke up. Top that off, they are too hot, and don't breathe. Still on a hunt for that magical shoe, but for now, these ones go on the shelf to collect dust (can't return 'em). Keep shopping is my advice.

I generally do not write product reviews because I am never truly wowed. These clogs, however, are amazing. As a neurosurgeon, I spend very long amounts of time on my feet, standing in essentially one place. Prior to ordering these, I tried Dansko/Sanita clogs, Professional Crocs, and every running shoe under the sun with the same result. At the end of surgery, my legs/back ached and the next day I felt like I had run a marathon. I just completed 18 hours of surgery wearing these clogs and feel great. I'll never operate in anything else. I was able to wear them without really breaking them in. I've worn Birkenstock for years, though, and my feet are used to the shape of the foo tbed. If you're a new wearer, I'd suggest wearing them for a while before you test them out in, say, an operating room where you can't futz with them. One drawback is that they don't breath, so appropriate socks are a must. I find that any of the wick-away running socks work well with them. I wore them around for a few days trying out different socks before I first used them at work. They felt true to Birkenstock size, although my Birk size is smaller than my Sanita or running shoe size. They felt a little big at first but over the course 22 hours of continuous wear I was glad that the toe was a touch roomy. As a plus, they are super easy to clean with envirocide and I'm told that they can be auto-claved (although I have yet to confirm this with Birkenstock) which makes them great for dirty environments.
