Outstanding, Long Lasting - I wore these boots for my high school graduation in 2001, and also to my College graduation this last May. Four years out of one pair of comfortable boots is more than most people will ever expect. Outstanding boots.

Best Boots Ever - These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever owned!! I wore these for 10 hours a day at a Dr's office and no foot pain. Although beware my dog enjoyed the great taste of Dr. Marten's tasty leather.

Dr. Martins still have what it takes! Despite the fact that Dr.Martins did sell out to China, these boots are still just fine. Infact, I would say they are the nicest, most comfortable & durable boot I have ever bought! They do take a long time to break in, but it is worth the effort. I love the fine hair cell style of leather, and the sole is thick...which means"longer life". The only thing I do not like, is something Doc Martins have always been notorious for, and that is the side shifting tongue. Love the speedy & free shipping! Thanks for the quality service, and a very high quality boot!

Great boots! Love the look and the feel. These boots are very stiff and take awhile to break in. That's why I only give four stars for comfort. As I've owned a similar style Doc, I know that they'll be comfy once broken in. As always, Zappos processed and shipped the order with lightning speed. Got 'em in two days. I also returned another pair prior to ordering these. The return process was absolutely painless. Thanks Zappos!

Back to the day... Even though the manufactoring of "DOCS" has gone the way of Asia, these boots are still the best when it comes to use at work and on the street. Having worn the old "1942" model for many years in the late seventies to mid eighties, the feel and quality is still there. Breaking them in was easy, not the hassle other reviewers have mentioned, (but then again, I'm used to wearing and USING these for WORK and PLAY !!). Only comprable boots found was on a site that offers a unique tread design which would not go over too well in the factory when the floors are wet. "Doc" should try to add a CERTIFIED SATEEL SAFETY TOE in this model. RANK OUT !!! Riff Raff

Docs - Take some time to break in, as Docs usually do but worth the effort. Zappos was extremely helpful with shipping and delivered sooner than promised

Dr Martens's 8761 BOOTS - Very very good boot. Very good buy! Only reason I give it 4 stars on comfort is that they are hard to break in. After you break them in though are are perfect!

Comfy but hard. These boots are still being broken in. They fit nicely but after 45 minutes of walking, the heels start to rub. I'm still taking a break from them while the blisters heal. It's a challenge to break them in. It takes a long time to break in, but if you're willing to do so, then go with these. Don't get me wrong, these are great shoes, but very tough; have another pair of shoes available to wear until these are broken in.

Good boot, sturdy - It's a good shoe, sturdy, just takes a little long to break in. They look great and have nice traction in the snow too.

Top of the line in comfort - Showed up quick, and went on like a pair of slippers.

Great boots, look great. Feel good once you break them in. But the break in period can be painful.

8761 - Great all around work boot, Acually a little more comfortable than expected. No need for inserts. A little big around the very top. Geat "boot for your buck."

Zappos Rocks - I am so excited I found these boots on Zappos. I had been to 5 different stores looking for a heavier black Dr.Martens Boot, (I had my previous ones for 7 years and loved them), but everyone said they could not order them or could not get them in such a small size. Then, I came accross Zappos. I absolutely love my new boots and will recommend zappos to everyone. I was so impressed with the price and how fast I got them!

Good boots - I have a pair of these already, and older set, I've owned them for almost 10 years! Wore them to work, and now I need a new pair. They held up well, probably should have treated the leather to withstand the salt from sweat, but overall, they're great boots. Take awhile to break in, though...

Great book, but heel hurt. These boots are fantastic. The black sole is especially nice-- the heel of the shoe is a little odd it has something that hurts my foot sometimes. The first day I wore them it didn't hurt, the second day it did, It will probably go away. Buy these boots they rock!

These run a little wide as most Dr. Marten's do... But I wear heavier socks with them and they're o.k...I’ve worn them two times all day so far...and by the next time I should have them all broken in so I can wear them to work for the 8 full hours on my feet! They are so light and feel so good despite the little stiffness in the ankle...love them as I love all Dr. Marten's!!!! ...and of course love the great service from Zappos!!!!

Great boot for winter wool socks! This is really a great boot overall. They look great, they've got great bounce, and they're very supportive for those of us who are on our feet a lot. True to other reviews however, they feel way bigger than the marked size. This works fine for me in a cold climate, as I can wear some serious wool socks underneath, but others may find that uncomfortable. All in all I love these boots.

I don't know what most of you are talking about... MY Docs in this style were made in England...like every other pair of Docs I have ever owned...No part of these shoes was made in China or anywhere else other than England. I've had them for 2 weeks and they are starting to break in a bit...but they are NOT killing my feet the way past pairs of Docs have. They fit just right and, well someone said the Doc Marten site has them for $4 less? Knock yourself out...I got MINE from Zappos the NEXT DAY and I didn't pay shipping at ALL. I have no complaints about these boots at ALL!!!

Dr. Marten Combat Boots - Got here super quick. I was really impressed with zappos. Boots have a long break in time!! Man I'm still breaking them in, but those first 4 days were murder. Turned my Feet into Hamburger meat. But they're getting a lot better and they're starting to get comfortable... They're great boots.....when they're broken in.

Yay! I adore these boots. They look great and wear really well, and as soon as you see them in person you get the impression that they'll last forever. They are slightly uncomfortable at first, until you either break them in (which I've heard is hard to do) or just get used to them. *And they ARE a half size bigger than marker, so watch out for that.*

My big, black boots - I found what I wanted, my order arrived a few days after it was placed, and they fit perfectly.

Not as good - I was very pleased with Zappo's shipping, but the boots don't live up to DM's usual quality. I wanted to buy a pair of the old 6-hole steel-toes, but DM has discontinued them. The 8761s are not nearly as comfortable, and uncommonly hard to break-in. I wish they would bring back the 6-holes, probably the best boot I've ever worn. What are they thinking?
