Shoe cleaner - Other than shining my Dr. Martens it did not do what I needed it to do. I needed the smootches to come off and that is what I understood it did. Perhaps I misunderstood the description. However, it is a great shoe balm, it shined my docs wonderfully

Hmmm.... I tried this on my new Docs and it just sat on the surface without soaking in at all. I had to wipe it off the next morning. On my old greasy 1461's however it did a nice job shining them up and keeping the leather feeling supple. I can't therefore agree witht her eviewer who suggested this balsam to soften new Docs, but it is a nice, if pricey, polish.

Dr. Marten's 'Wonder Shoe Balsam - My daughter had purchased some of this previously. I had used it and was very impressed. Sadly this container doesn't see as effective as her original. The concept is great, but the execution is a little on the short side.

I was disappointed with the Dr. Martens Wonder Shoe Balsam. The product does repel water and liquid, but it made the leather on my Dr Martens shoes a lot darker. My shoes went from a medium brown to a semi-shiny dark brown (almost burgundy). Money down the drain.

Sticky icky - This does bring out the color in leather, but it leaves a gooey residue that can't be polished on most leathers. You try to buff it, and the finish gets dull and yucky. But if you don't buff it, it stays sticky and rubs off on your clothes, hands, sofa, car seat...everything. I did like how it deepened the color of a purse with very dry leather, but the end result was a purse I can't let touch my clothes. I tried to be careful not to use too much, but it only sinks in so far. Then if you try to wipe it off, that takes off the shine. YUCKY stuff.
