What's in this stuff? Why pay this much for shoe gunk when a can of mink oil would be half the price? Good question I did, and I'm not sure why. But, it does a good job of removing scuffed areas of smooth leather, as well as waterproofing. The main difference I can see between this and a mink oil product is that it does not darken the leather as much as an oil-based product. Your shoes will be restored more to the color they were new, instead of looking liked they'be been soaked in oil. At least that's how I justify spending this much!

Great Stuff! Dr. Martens's Wonder Shoe Balsam is the best! After using it on a pair of shoes, several co-workers ask if I was wearing new shoes! If you want to bring new life back into an old pair of shoes, try Dr. Martens!

Dr Martens Wonder Shoe Balsam - My overall rating is 5 stars. Comfort does not apply. The Balsam is easy to apply, slightly darkens and softens the leather, protects the leather against scuffs, protects against water and salt marks and provides some waterproofing. I scuffed my shoes several times and just took my finger and rubbed it out. I would highly recommend this product.

miracle stuff - Great stuff to aid in breaking in your new docs or making your old ones look less ragged. I've been using this on my docs for years, and it really works wonders, I definitely recommend it for any doc owner. Zappos is great too! Super fast shipping, good communication via email! I highly recommend them and the wonder balsam!

New shoe in a bottle - I put this balm on my new Dr.. martins as soon as I got them, and after daily use they still look great (I live in the North East, and there is plenty of snow and salt but the shows still look new). I also applied the balm to old shoes, and it instantly took them from old to new looking again. If you have nice leather [shoes] you definitely need to protect it with this.

GREAT PRODUCT - I received this product and tried them on a very old pair of docs. The result was amazing, the shoes look brand new too bad there isn't a product to make the inside look brand new.

I've had my Docs for two years and they were certainly starting to show some wear. I bought the Dr. Martens shoe balm to breathe some life into my well-worn pair and that is exactly what it did! My shoes look like brand new and all the markings have disappeared. I've bragged about this product so much that the biggest problem I have is that everyone I know keeps using mine and I can't seem to keep it in my hands long enough to use it again!

I have my trusty pair of Dr Martens and they needed a shine. This product worked great, shined and coated them and they look brand new!

Wonder Shoe Balsam - This stuff is great, had my boots 3 weeks and got this huge scratch across the toe. Rubbed some Woner Balsam on the toe and it disappeared. Great Stuff, I am glad I ordered it with my boots.

Wonder Stuff!! I tried this balsam after reading the numerous reviews on this site. It's all true!! I got this home and was amazed at what they did for my old Doc's... I tried it on everthing leather I have. Works great! And the balsam doesn't even look like I put a dent in it. It even "fixed" a pair of shoes that I thought were ruined from a spray-on leather protector made by Wilson Leather. Good stuff!

Wonder Shoe Balsam - worth buying! I bought the Wonder Shoe Balsam at the same time I bought my Docs, and it is great for keeping the leather soft and supple and protecting it from moisture. I usually buff it after applying. Great product!

I swear by it - This is the third tin of the wonder shoe balsam that I have owned and each of 5 pairs of Docs that I have owned have lasted an incredibly long time. The balsam does a great job of keeping the shoes in great condition. Every pair of Docs that I have thrown out have been because of either odor or sole wear, but not for leather wear. With this I have never owned a pair of docs that have lasted less than 5 years.

The perfect accessory for the perfect shoes - I ordered this on a whim with my first pair of Doc Martens and found that it speeded up the breaking-in time enormously. Tried the Docs on when I got them and they were almost too stiff to wear at all--- then I rubbed in a generous amount of the Balsam per the instructions and left them alone for 2-3 days; the next time I tried the boots on they were perfectly comfortable. I'd recommend this to anyone breaking in a new pair of Docs or other stiff leather shoes.

Dr Marten's shoe balsam - I hesitated at first at the price but it seemed safer then a waterproof spray that tend to change the color of the soles. Made my shoes look like new ! No discoloration.

Great - I have a pair of old dock's that looked really beat up and I almost got rid of them. I used this product and they look practicaly new again I love this stuff.

My dog ate it - I didn't get a chance to even open the jar, but apparently my dog really liked it! I have used it in the past and it's a great product.

Great Balsam - I really like the Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam. It is just what I was looking for to take care of my leather goods. I'm even using it for my car leather upholstery. Thanks again.

Wonderful stuff - The shoes I just purchased were a little stiff and after applying the wonder balsam it made the shoes much softer and easier to break in. I also put the balsam on some old shoes and they look new again.

A true wonder balm! I decided to try it because of the other reviews. It truely is a great product. Renewed my Stone Mt. handbag and other leather items! When my husband is impressed, it's a good product.

Great for Leather - Dr. Martens Wonder Shoe Balsam - Dr. Martens Wonder Shoe Balsam has restored my old cowgirl boots plus my leather dance shoes. It's a bit messy to use but it made my boots and shoes look new again. Too bad it is not recommended to use to protect shoe laces. Laces seem to soil very easily and I was hoping to use the balsam to protect the laces but was told it would darken the color of any fabric, so it is only good on leather. It might also work on vinyl but I have not tried that yet.

Very happy to actually find this product!! Cannot find it at any retail store.

Good goop! I slathered this on all my shoes, not just the Docs. I think it will get me through the winter with shiny happy shoes.
