This stuff is great! My main concern is keeping the leather on my work boots in good condition through all kinds of weather and it does the trick. The leather on my Docs always feels soft and appears clean and in good condition. Now my experience with how well and how long this product keeps your boots (or shoes) looking nice and shiny is gonna be different than those who use their Docs casually. I am an EMT in the city. I stomp through rain, mud dust, snow, blood, glass, and discarded pancakes-yes, pancakes (you ever try hospital pancakes? If you're ever admitted, you'll be tossing them out too!) on a daily basis so they take a beating. It's not so important to me that they shine but I've owned great boots in the past that I didn't take proper care of and even they wind up looking like Grendel's fur after the war, when they've been exposed to one element too many. This stuff keeps my boots looking well enough to be presentable at work and just spiffy enough to rock at a hardcore show down on Bowery on my day off, if I listened to hardcore. More of an underground hip-hop and lounge music man myself-but don't EVER try to dance in your Docs!

Wonder Balsam is great stuff for whatever ails. My son told me about its qualities, so I bought a jar. It's great on smooth leathers: shoes, belts, jackets, furniture. Although it's a little bland on bread, it made a 10-year old LL Bean braid belt look new. It doesn't stain or rub off on my clothes, but it's a little too stiff for my hair. Buy a jar and use it. I'm still searching for things to put it on. Like Dr. Martens footwear, overpriced, but what else you gonna do with your money? Note: just kidding about the bread & hair.

I have a pair of Doc Martens that are only a few months old, but have been through the wringer, what with having hot soup and dirty mop water/sanitizing solution spilled over them almost every day. They'd gotten grossly discolored and were starting to look nasty, so I shelled out for a tub of this basalm, and Wow. In seconds my shoes looked brand new. I honestly don't recognize them! Usually I'm wary of things with superlatives like "Wonder" in their name, but this time, it's definitely warranted.

This is pretty awesome stuff for leather shoes, especially Dr. Martens! It makes them look brand new. I have a pair that I bought in 2001 and the leather on them looks almost as good as the day I bought them!

This stuff is amazing! I've used it on Doc Martens, on other leather shoes, and even on a leather purse, and it worked great every time! The leather purse was a find at a thrift store. It was a Franco Sarto purse, but the leather had been neglected and was really in bad shape, especially the strap, which was lighter because it was so dried out. This stuff restored the leather wonderfully!

Nice way to preserve most leather on any brand product, not just DMs. Plus, it softens the leather a bit for an easier break in.

Very easy to use. Works very well at protecting leather. I use it on shoes, wallets, etc. Similar to Vaseline. Make snow and water fall right off. Keeps leather soft and looking like new. Keep in mind, though, that it will darken your leather if it is a light color. I highly recommend this to anyone wishing to protect their leather.

Great for getting out salt stains! Works better than vinegar and water and conditions your leather shoes to boot.

Wow! Amazing stuff. I had a leather handbag that was so scuffed up I was about to donate it to the Goodwill. This balsam made it look like new.

We got 2 pairs of Doc Martens along with the Wonder Shoe Balsam. This is great stuff, really helps condition & soften the leather. All of my other leather shoes have been treated with this as well, and I now have a rack full of smooth, soft, supple, happy shoes. What more could you want?

This stuff is great. Not only did I use it on my Docs, but I rubbed it into my leather seats in my '34 ford. The seats got dried out from the sun, and this balsam made them look great. Not exactly new, the car was redone 15 years ago, but it brought back the suppleness of the leather and got rid of the same scratches. Love this stuff!

Great! Works well with all colors of shoes. May darken brown colors slightly but it makes them look like new. I will purchase this again! Zappos has a great price.

Great wax that I can use for all of my leather products including my Dr. Martens boots. I found out that the wax worked better when I heat them with the hair dryer after I applied the wax on the leather. Unlike other oil/wax, this product does not change (darken) the color of the leather -- which was great!

This product is great. I use it for my Georgia boots. These are workboots and I live in Alaska and put them through their paces and the wonder balsam always brings them back to life and helps to condition the leather. I would recommend this balsam to anyone who had leather shoes, whatever the type.

Works great to bring oil finished boots back to life. A little softer and easier to work into the oil finish than mink oil. Used on the leather of a tired pair of birkenstocks to make them last another season, worked great again!

I really like this Balsam. It's clear so I bought it to help out my shimmery, green docs. It helped clean them but it also helped to make the shiny come back out. It's not something that you do once and your shoes are perfect for a year. If you want them to look their best always then you have to apply it every couple of weeks, depending on your level of use. It's natural as well, so that's an added bonus. Personally, I am glad I bought it. I recommend it for those people out there who love their shoes as much as I do.

This is a blend of waxes, neutral in color. The applicator is in the container. It made my Docs nice and shiny, and I worried less wearing them in our crap New England weather.

This stuff is perfect for any leather boots or clothing. I use these on all my boots when they get dry and cracked or they need a water sealant.

This stuff is amazing! My Docs will probably last longer & look better by using this regularly. I wish I had this stuff when I had my old ones! It makes the leather look like new every time! I have 20i's & a very small dab works wonders & 1 jar will last me a while (unless I start using it on all the leather in my house).

none--this is the best I\'ve ever used on any leather

After reading a lot of reviews of Dr. Martens citing the horrible break-in period, the blisters, the sores, the rubs, and the bruises, I figured that anything I could do to move the process along was a good thing and tossed a tub of Wonder Balsam in with my order. I don't know if it was tough feet or liberal application of Wonder Balsam, but I didn't experience ANY pain or injuries from my new boots, which went from stiff to comfy in about two weeks with liberal applications of Wonder Balsam. It also provided great waterproofing for our spring snowmelt.

This stuff is great, like moisturizing lotion for your shoes. We use it on our winter boots that can get dried out and cracked, but I might start using it on all our heavy-duty shoes instead of shoe polish. It smells great, too, not toxic. Love it!

I bought this to fix some boots that I scuffed the first week I had them. My boots aren’t Dr. Martens. Just plain black leather boots. This worked like a charm. It covered the marks on my shoes and while they don’t look brand new, you can’t see white marks anymore. I would definitely recommend this product. It’s a bargain!

Been buying this for 6 years. It goes a long way as you do not need to use very much. My husband is a cook and his shoes get nasty. This balsam stuff makes them look like new and I think it makes his shoes last longer too.
