I gave these as a gift. My boyfriend did say that felt really narrow but he thinks they will loosen up. I bought a pair he didn't like originally from Zappos so I had to send them back and order a different pair. FREE shipping and returns made it possible to get the right shoe without additional cost.

Dr. Martens 1460 Series -
Actually this is a present for my husband for Christmas. However, he currently owns the exact pair and absoulutley loves them. As for my experience with Zappos.com, it was a pleasure to do buisness with them. Your turn around time is fantastic and you definitely will have a customer for life. Keep up the great work.

Good quality -
I have had this pair since '95 and they truely live up to the quality that Docs are known for. Granted they are looking rather ragged now, they are still in great shape, and I use them if I'm going to do some rough work outside. I also own the typical Doc sandals which are OK. Just OK because I have a narrow foot and they don't exactly stay on very well. However, I use them all summer, and after 3 years, they still look brand new. I just bought another pair of black Doc boots this week so I'm hoping that they also live up to the boots I originally bought. And yes, what great prices!

Excellent boots. I bought them for my husband for Christmas, so I don't know how they fit yet. He had a pair when he was in highschool and loves them.

This is my 6th pair of Docs. I love them as much as all the others. I have to admit, this is the only pair I ever had to break-in, but, after a month they fit my feet perfectly. As I knew they would. I agree, they should definitely bring back ox-blood, that was by far the coolest color ever. My fellow soccer moms think I am crazy for wearing "kids" shoes, but my feet feel great!

Best shoes I have ever had -
I do a lot of walking around my college campus, and since I have sensitive feet, my feet would often feel very sore from walking around in sneakers all day. But these are great, my feet don't feel sore at all after wearing them all day. They hurt for about 4 days after I started to wear them, but it was bearable. I can wear them with anything; jeans, dress pants, etc., and they look great.

Oh baby -
I have these in cherry red and they're sweet. My fourth pair of Docs (black mary janes, brown sandals, and blue/green boots) and my favorite. Yes, they do need breaking in, but that's why eventually they fit your feet like they would fit no one else's. It's a trip when you first try a pair of Docs, the air soles are great. I've had these for four years and the soles are still just like new, the color of the leather just as lovely, the shine remarkably resilient. And, oh course, you can never beat their style.
One suggestion: If you don't wear socks in these the leather inside the boot tends to actually cut your feet. There is no lining inside these boots.

Gods feet -
Praise the almighty boot for it is holy, o me o my, Doc Martens... they're great. I've had my pair for at least 4-5 years now and they're still comfortable.
My only fault is I didn't have steel toes.

They're GREAT
I've had mine for almost 10 years now and they are still in great shape. I bought them back in 93' when they were still "in", I don't think that they will ever completely out of style and if they are, I will still wear them because they are just wonderful shoes. They look great and feel great. They're GREAT!!!

1460s rule
Docs are the only real luxury I allow myself in life. I have about eight pair (at different stages of wear) and love them all. Actually, come to think of it, because of how long they last, they're really not a luxury, just a sound investment. Of all the styles I've worn, the black smooth 1460s have to be the ultimate (although I couldn't pass up the sale on the Navy smooth and love them too). They are timeless classics and, like Black Converse Chuck Taylor hi-tops, will outlast all of the trendy pretenders. Highly recommended.

I received my 1st pair of Doc's in '93 after begging my mom for what seemed like an eterinty. My older sister already had 2 pair, now it was my turn. I picked out this exact style, then went on to this in a 20 eye. I hate the greasy, and agree that oxblood are better. They do take some breakin in time but it's all worth it, especially when they last you 9 yrs. I put them through hell.

Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz) had her red shoes and I have mine. I wear these to work at Dillard's Dept. Store and get so many compliments on the look. I am on my feet the entire day and my cherry red Doc Martens are tops in comfort.

Really Hot and Still Stylin'
Even though some people think Docs are no longer in style, I think these boots are truly timeless. I've been wearing Docs since the early '80s but haven't had a pair for some time. (my husband isn't crazy about them) but I decided that I still like them so I've bought 5 pairs in the past few months! I just got some 1460's in green. Not my first choice of color, but I wanted to be a little different. I was a little worried that they'd need a lot of "break in" time based on some of the reviews, but they didn't. I just got them 2 days ago and the leather is butter soft. No break in time needed at all. They are really comfy though you have to kind of get used to how tightly to do up the laces! They are great shoes. Mine have the BEN sole which I prefer to the traditional DMS because they seem "bouncier". They are super sturdy and I think they'll last a really long time. Long live Doc Martens shoes!

These kick ass! I've had mine now in navy for 6 or 7 yrs, they definitely did take a LONG time for me to break in, but it was well worth it! They've held up really well, are sooo comfy, and are well worth the money-- esp. at the great price zappos has them (I paid $20-30 more). GET THESE!
Oh yeah- who else wants them to bring back oxblood red?! They kick cherry red's ass!

They look great, and feel great.
I just got my first pair of navy blue boots, I love them so much I ordered a pair of red ones. My bones break easily and my ankle has been broken over a year. I was so thrilled to find a boot that was sturdy, hi-top lace up, and classy to boot!! Ha Ha.

I've worn a pair of these almost daily for 12 years!.... 12 years! and still going. seems like boots that have been worn for 12 years would stink a little.... not these. these boots are so amazing! I can't believe i'm here looking for new pair, but then again what else would you replace these with. there are not enough stars to rate these boots

Bigger sizes.
I wear a size fourteen. Sizes 14-16 are quite common these days. They look cool, they just kill my feet by the end of the night. Some wider sizes woulden't hurt either.

What a change!
Wow! I just got my new boots today and they're fantastic. I had an old pair of some generic work boots for almost 2 years now that were falling apart, so I decided to spend some cash and get a pair of Docs. Before I even opened the shoe box, I noticed the difference. These boots are so lightweight! My old pair weighed 5 lbs, which doesnt sound like much, but after 9 hours on your feet, they feel like a ton. After I tried my new Docs on, I noticed a world of other differences, due to their light weight, my feet no longer scuffled when I walked. And the sole on these boots is incredible, there's a bounce in my step that was never there. I can tell that these are going to take some time to work in...but it's definately going to be worth it. I highly recommend these boots for anyone.

I had my first pair of Doc's when I was 13, they were not really worn by women then, but within a year or two had become really popular. They were really cheap about £20. These boots went with me everywhere, when they became a bit tatty they were painted. They lasted me 7 years, that is 7 years of being worn every day!!!
My 2nd pair lasted a little longer 10yrs, but I wasn't riding a motorcycle in these, so weren't dragged along the floor!! When this 2nd pair finally gave up the ghost I decided to go for something different, I bought a pair of CAT boots. They are not the same; I do not have the kind of relationship with these boots as I did my Docs. I am now looking for another pair of docs but the prices in the UK are very high, although when you think about the amount of time they last I suppose it is worth it but as a student it is a little beyond my budget!! That’s why I am now looking at Zappos.com, the prices are a lot cheaper than here in the UK and hopefully when I have saved up enough money the service that zappos.com offer will be as welcoming as their prices!!
