Okay from day one the comfort is great. I work outside all day long on my feet. So in the past I had a pair of Dr. Martens and they was the best boot I've ever bought. Now I needed a pair again for my job. The day I got them and put them on I never had anymore foot pain or blisters. Not like any other new pair of boots I've bought in the past and regret buying. Dr Martens is the best hands down. I will never buy any other brands again.

The Brown Polished is a nice deep natural brown color. The leather is very good quality and for me, this is my 3rd pair of Dr. Marten Boots. Very comfortable.

These shoes are a bargain! This is the second pair I bought for my daughter who is a bit tough on shoes. The first pair lasted more than 10 years of heavy usage. Divide the price by 10 and you'll see what a deal these are!

You can't go wrong with this pair of Doc's. Very little break in needed, I am wearing them daily and couldn't be happier with this purchase.

The actual finish was not as "distressed" as it looked, but still flexible. I had to get a UK 5 (I usually wear woman's 8, and the UK 6 was recommended). I can wear them all day in full comfort.

A great boot! Not the same as the made in England Dr. Martens, but still a great boot. Comfortable and broke in quickly.

Really like these boots. They broke in very quickly. Did have to get a new insole to make them perfect. They scuff easy so beware that ad well but then again they are boots.

They looked wonderful, but they were a bit too big and wide! I looked a little like I had clown feet, and had to return. Nonetheless, I got the "Brown Polished Incuk" and the leather was soft and high quality!

Very comfortable shoes to wear. I would have kept mine except for the fact that they rubbed my ankle the wrong way.

What can I say? they're Doc Martins! I think they really hit the perfect shade of red without looking too bright, and with a red shirt and my black leather jacket the compliments and admiring looks abound! Good taste and quality will never go out of style. It was worth it just to see that look in my wife's eye when she looked me over the way she did years ago! Be a little bold, unleash the non-conformist inside you, but unleash it in style! As with all Docs they were a little hard to break in the first few wearings, but they began to feel perfect in no time!

These shoes rock, as my daughter says. I had to wear the shoes while traveling recently and I could not believe how comfortable and great looking they are even for a 50 years old lady. I want to get a red pair for myself soon.

Dr. Martens have always lasted a long time. THis particular style takes about 40 hours worth of wear in order to break in. Mind you I baught the smooth finish, so the other may take more/less time, but once they're worn in, they're comfortable from dusk to dawn and then some. If you have a wide foot, no need to order wide, I wear wide and order medium and there's plenty of room.

They are decent boots. No break-in required for me. And the price is right. The only thing I can complain about is the color. My boots are a really dark brown. Much darker than that which the picture represents. If you don't mind, it's no big deal. If it is an issue, use Zappos' free return policy. The best on the web in my opinion. Oh, I kept my boots, off color and all.

Great boot. I ordered these in the smooth blue and they are a nice, navy blue color. They have worn well although they do take a little time to break in (but anyone who is familiar with Doc Martens already knows that).

These are beautiful, well-made shoes that I'm sure will last me a long time. I love tromping through the mud and rain and snow in them, but they are quite heavy! I'm still wearing them in after a month of not constant wear, so they still hurt the backs of my ankles sometimes and are overall rather heavy. It's not fun trekking across a big campus in these. Comparatively, I have some boots I got at Walmart that are probably look-alikes. These aren't as well made but they're lighter and easier to walk in. So look for something similar but less hardy if you want comfort, but for a pair of long lasting, classic boots, I recommend the Docs!

Very disappointed in the latest pair of Dr Marten 1460's. I have owned several pair of these boots all were excellent with the exception of the last pair I purchased. The sole began to separate on the left boot after owning them for 3 months. I appreciate Zappos generous return policy. These used to be a quality work boot that I would were for years. I am wondering if Dr Marten's quality control is going down. Have they changed the manufacturing process or location? If Dr Martens is going to produce crap like this then they need to cut the price by more than half. When the boots are back in stock I will reorder. If I get another bad pair, I will be leaving the brand.

My favorite boots! I'm a Dr Martens fan and I like all the boots. Zappos is awesome. I got them before Christmas. It is super cute but little bit heavy. But it's okay.

Very comfortable boot. Don't expect them to look new after the first day or two though. They mark up really easily. I was happy with this, however, because they looked aged and worn in within the first week.

Nope, nope, nope. Too flat, too huge, too hard to get on. I felt like a lumberjack. Made my feet look ENORMOUS (I wear size 8). Soft supple leather, though. And I love how they grip the floor and make you feel like you can walk over/through anything -- however, NO arch support, and that is always the deal breaker for me.

I love the color! They come with 2 pairs of laces. One pair is black & the other is yellow. The comfort is an issue. I'm short (4'11") and the height of the boot is probably not ideal for me. They push into my calf and it is very painful. I assume this would get better after they are broken in. Also, they are very snug around the area of the foot just behind the bridge, but again I think this issue would be resolved after they are broken in because of the stretching of the leather. The width of the bridge is nice if you have wider feet. I have noticed the sizing seems to run very large. I normally can wear a girl's size 3 up to a woman's size 5. I purchased the size 5 (obviously). Overall, I think they are made to wear well, but I personally was very disappointed in the fit.

Great winter boot. Keeps my feet warm. It's a little loose at the ankle and after about a year the toe is scuffed up.

This is a very comfortable boot. I was able to go out walking in them right away. However, even though I take a English size 8, I found the American size 9, its equivalent, slightly larger. But that's actually okay now, as I wear thicker socks, it being winter, an' all

Have been a big fan of the Doc for years. But I'm now an even bigger fan of Zappos! Priced right. Delivered fast. Super return policy when I get my own shoe size wrong (it was the US/UK conversion thing!) Why shop anywhere else for Doc Martens, or, for that matter, any other footwear. 11 out of 10!

My teenage daughter picked the shoes for herself. We were a bit surprised about the type of leather, which is very nice, sturdy, and forgiving. The boots looked well even after walking through thick snow (needed to be dried like every other shoe), they were warm enough although they are no winter/snow boots. We strongly recommend them.

These boots are fantastic. They are less clunky than I thought they would be (ordered the men's because women's shoes are too narrow for my wide feet) and the leather is quite soft for a new shoe. I've been wearing them all day and for me, there does not seem to be a break-in period at all. They do feel a tad larger - maybe a half size and that may help with the comfort right out of the box. The slightly larger fit does not bother me at all and I would urge folks NOT to order a size smaller. There is nothing worse than a tight-fitting shoe. A little more wiggle room can be easily fixed with thicker socks (especially convenient in the winter) and/or insoles. I love the Scholl's memory foam insoles which I use on top of the insoles that came with this boot, if I want to use thinner socks. This boot's insoles are removable, meaning you can replace them with thicker insoles or ones with more arch support, if so desired. Zappos service is simply outstanding. I placed my order on a Saturday, which also happened to be a holiday (Jan 1). I was hoping to receive the shoes by the end of this week (chose the free 4-5 day shipping) but the order was shipped on Sunday (!) and arrived at my door Monday afternoon!
