Okay, I'm 8.5 and 5'7" and after reading that "63% Felt true to size", I decided to ignore the people that said it runs way too big so I bought an 8uk which is supposed to be 8.5/9 according to DM page...but they really run big, like a half or an entire size. These shoes are huge. Trust me, they won't look small if you get one size down...the design - it's amazing. I have nothing to complain about that so if you are a half size like me you should get one size down unless you are tall...or a clown.

These fit great and looked cool. My son just chose the Chippewas instead.

Color is really cool! Kind of dark red brown. Classic Docs feel great and soft, broken in sort of. Can't go wrong, compliments left and right.

I bought my first pair of Doc's back in 1996 in England at the Dr. Martens Store in Covent Garden. I wore those boots to death and have never found a pair of boots more comfortable then those (save for my Keen Brooklyn's). However I think I bought the wrong size back then (after about 9 countries and very bloody heels, which loosened up after about 2 months) because after buying my first pair since then. But I continued to where them for another 10 years before giving them up. I have found that I am one of those people that truly fits a size between the US7 and US8. It's true that Docs fit about a 1/2 to a full size bigger than usual...I wear size 9US/8UK in everything. I'm torn because I love these boots but the UK8 is a lot looser than the UK7...and the UK7 is very tight over the width and top of my foot. It's odd that the difference between the the two sizes is so drastic. So I'm torn to return both or just keep the UK8's and get an arch support to ease the loose-ness of the boot. They are really great boots, I just wish they'd make them in 1/2 sizes.

Well worth the price. I love Docs...I wear a half size so I buy them a size bigger and then put inserts in. They are the most comfortable work boot you will find.

I bought these recently and I have been doing some reading online on a lot of reviews on what size to get and mostly everyone says get a size down or something but for me I got my actual size and they fit fine, althought it would of been better if Dr Martens made half sizes but they do not, so I just got a size 8 in womens and they fit just fine. I tried on the size 7 in womens and they were just too tight for me, so I definitely recommend getting your actual size. But I also recommend going to a store and trying them on so you know what size to get for sure. They are great shoes that are very comfortable. They are easy to wear with jeans and what not! This is my first pair of boots and I love them!

There are two types of boot wearers, those that can wear the Docs and those that can't. These are beautiful boots and I wanted them to work but they did not. The fit seemed flaccid. The leather just too soft. I was afraid I was crease them so much just walking on the carpet to test the boots that I would not be able to return them. Overall, not nearly enough support at the ankles. Toe box too big. Heel area seemed ready to expand. Other reviewers just rave about these boots. So, I think it gets down to this -- if you like a stiffer, more supportive boot these will not do. If you prefer a soft, glove like feel you will love these boots.

Hands off the made in China boots. I am on my second China pair, symptoms are the same: Leather is of poor quality, soles crack, stitching around the bottom of the shoe fails on the sides. Inside the sole wear out quicker. The only thing that remains are tho looks. If you want a durable boot, look elsewhere!

Purchased shoes due to reputation of durability and comfort. Have worn for 3 months. Took 2 weeks to break in but very comfortable for tall boots once worn in. The soles are not as bouncy as I imagined, not all way walking shoes but I can wear them all day without discomfort. I really like the style, just leather, laces and rubber, no puffy padding or racing stripes. Buy these mostly for style, but also not bad on comfort. I wear in warehouse on concrete floors 8 hours a day, they do okay but not great.

When I was a teenager, back in the early 90's, I scrimped and saved my pennies for months and months so that I could buy my very own pair of Docs. I wore them the last two years of high school, all through college, every single day for many years of work in restaurants and kitchens. They finally gave up the ghost about three years ago, after lasting through a good many years of very hard use. I was sad to think that I would never own another pair. I have bad feet, though (see years of working in kitchens) and no pair of boots that I have owned has come close in comfort to my good old Docs. Finally, sick of wearing nothing but sneakers or suffering agony all day, I sucked it up, encouraged by favorable reviews, and bought a pair of Docs again. I ordered the Aztec, since that was the only pair in my size that Zappos had available, and since I do not feel quite punk rock enough anymore to pull off a cherry pair. The leather feels good and sturdy and has a nice distressed look, so that I was able to wear them without them screaming "We are new shoes!" The pictures really do not do them justice. I carefully inspected all the seams and stitching and was pleasantly surprised to see that it looks as good and heavy duty as ever. They were comfortable out of the box, without the agony I remembered from breaking in that first pair long ago. In fact, I put them on and went straight on a road trip, where they remained comfortable and wonderful while I ran around like a maniac setting up an art event. I credit their comfort, and my lack of aching feet, for the continued survival of a particularly rude parking warden. I will have to wait and see how long they last, but right now I am surprised how pleased I am with them. As comfortable as they are out of the box, I hope they get even better as they break in the way Docs do. And as always, Zappos is wonderful and their shipping is amazingly fast. I got these boots within two days of placing my order even though they were going to a PO box and the Zappos representative warned me that it might take a week.

Good boots overall. They are darker than the online picture, but still look good. The leather is much softer than other Docs I have, so they didn't take as long to break in. I've noticed Docs nowadays fit a bit larger. I wear 10.5 but I have 3 pairs of Docs in 10 that fit fine.

I've been wearing Doc's for a very long time.Greasy 8 holes, monkey boots, creepers,(they were my go to night shoe in the late 80s.)I'm not a loafer or Rockport chukka kinda guy.Dr. Martens are a staple of my wardrobe. The sizing is the same as it has been forever.I'm a size 9 or 9.5 foot.A size 9 USA does the trick every time.I always put a footbed in them due to the lack of arch support. The quality isn't as great as it was 20 years ago,but what is.If you have owned Doc's in the past and liked them then buy them.If you have never had a pair and are thinking about it, well you probably shouldn't buy them. You just won't get it.As always Zappos was timely with the delivery and i would not shop for footwear anywhere else.Like Dr. Martens, Zappos is where it's at.

The last Dr. Martens (1460s) I owned lasted for over five years of heavy use. They were produced in England. These ones were produced in Vietnam - so it will be interesting to see how long they last. They broke in quickly and look great. I would recommend to anyone. I had to order a full size smaller than last time too?

I knew I wanted Doc Martens for my next pair of boots. I found the 1460's at a sporting goods store in Minnesota for less than Zappos, so I placed an order. A week later the email read 'the item you ordered is not available in your size. I have canceled your order and closed your account'. Nice. I knew I should have shopped at Zappos. I placed my order, and two days later I am stylin' in my Doc Martens. Why did I think I should have gone anywhere else?!

These are fantastic boots. I've worn Doc Martens for more than 15 years now, and each time I get close to wearing out one pair, I immediately start shopping for my next. Here are a couple points to consider before buying these boots: 1) They run a bit large. I wear a US size 10 for everything (running shoes, basketball shoes, dress shoes, and so on), but I had to go with a UK 8 (US size 9) for these boots because the UK 9s were way too big. 2) These boots need be broken in a bit before they start fitting comfortably. If you are a first-timer to wearing Doc Martens boots, don't give up on them just because they don't feel good at the beginning. I would suggest just wearing them around the house for a couple hours at a time for the first week or so, and after that they should feel great.

Love my new Dr. Martens. I changed out the footbed insert and put in a Walking Company orthotic. I wear a size 8 1/2 shoe. My foot is a medium somewhat wider in the toe area. So the men's UK 7 fits well, as it has more toe box room.

I'm not sure if these were fabricated as the original specs, or the newer ones, or what, but I love them and they fit great, they are well made, beautiful...what can I say? In a world where nothing is the same as it ever was, where quality has gone, these are my favorites.

Comfortable shoes. My only problem is having big feet and narrow calves the boot doesn't tie snug around my leg. Zappos is always great.

These boots look great (I bought the Grizzly/Bark color), they feel good (after being broken in, they rubbed my heels raw the first week) and they seam to be well made. Now, I say seam because I have no point of reference, but I have noticed no obvious signs of shoddy workmanship. I will say this though, these boots are lighter than my 13 year old Docs and those are leather shoes not boots, I'm not sure what this implies in terms of quality (if anything), but it is interesting. Practically speaking, there is no leather lining and the inside upper part of the boot is simply raw leather (the same color as the boot), the inside lower part of the boot is some kind of cloth material and where these two parts meet at the heel is a little sewn ridge, that ridge rubbed the heck out of my heels. I suggest wearing double socks and tying your laces extra tight (to prevent rubbing).

Do not buy these until they change back to their old ways. I will never buy Dr. Martins again. Been wearing this brand for 20 years and they have sunk to a new low. These are cheap junk leather boots, they could have gotten a better boot at Wal-Mart for a cheaper price. They look and feel like plastic. These are cheap, do not buy, like I said I have been wearing Docs forever and they are nothing like they used to be. I am very disappointed, go to Wal-Mart if you want cheap leather boots! These are not what they used to be.

Nothing beats the quality of these boots. I've owned them for over 10 years and love them. I wear them daily and they last about 4 years before I replace them. I used to work in a kitchen and was on my feet all the time and never had problems. They can be a little rough breaking in, but once they are, they are extremely comfortable.

Bought these to replace my 10 year old pair. Definitely take a while to break in but once they do they really conform to your foot and ankle. Timeless style with Bouncing Soles! Only drawback is that they are made out of thinner leather than 10 years ago. Fit is a little snug at first.
