I purchased the gray suede Propet Stability Walker Medicare/HCPCS Code = A5500 Diabetic Shoe not because I am diabetic, but because there are not very many walking shoes available, not in white or black, for a size 6.5 wide. I had to return the first pair because the toe box was too narrow, and exchanged them for a 6.5 2X wide, which is a first for me. But because I plan to wear the shoes on a vacation during which I will be walking a lot, it was important not to have my toes squeezed. So, now I have shoes that look like small, square tugboats. I have had to add an additional arch support and heel grips, which seems to be an issue with Propet (at least for me). However, I would recommend the Stability Walker because it is stable. I have a bad knee and am delaying knee replacement surgery, but the shoes make me feel more 'grounded" and less likely to stumble when my knee gives out. The shoes look clunky, but they are not heavy or tiring to wear.

Despite having a rather pointed toe, I think these will fit nicely once I get a bigger size. The pointed toe makes them a bit short.

I just received these shoes. I ordered them because Zappos is out of my most comfortable Brooks Addiction Walkers in my size. Out of the box, they seem well made. However, I found them to be a little too short in length and a little wide at the heel and ankle area. The lacing pattern does not allow you to secure the heel, which is necessary for narrow feet. For example, most athletic shoes have two eyelets at the ankle for lacing, and this shoe only has one, far from the previous eyelet. My heel slipped right out of them. I will be returning them. This is disappointing, as shoes in size 10.5 N are hard to find.

For a wide shoe, this was not very. Disappointed.

I am puzzled by Propet sizing. I ordered 7.5W in 2 styles. Other was too small. This is plenty wide, too long by a whole size, and too deep so my ankle bones are hit repeatedly as I walk. Comfort and support feel right but they don't fit. I have peripheral neuropathy so the search continues.

These turned out to be a little too roomy for my foot. I guess I should have gotten a narrow.

These are comfortable and supportive but stiff. May loosen up in time. My only concern with my wide feet is the narrowing at the toes which feels a little crowded. I am used to very wide New Balance so it'S a little different.

Shoes are great for walking because they control rollover. The shoe could use additional cushioning in the bottom of the shoe to better absorb shock while walking. I have bad knees and the support in the shoes is adequate. I like how the shoe fits my feet. There is plenty of room in the toes and my heels don't slide while walking.

This well-made shoe should be fine for most people with wide feet. For me, it still lacked enough width in the toe area to be comfortable even in the WW.

My foot seems to slide forward a lot in this shoe. I normally wear an 8 in athletic shoes. However, I ordered an 8.5 in this shoe because I wanted to have a bit of extra space for thicker socks, etc. Next time, I think I will order a 9, because my toe ends up at the very tip of the shoe over time while wearing these. The arch and heel support seem okay, but the ball of my foot really hurts after walking for a while. They don't seem to have enough padding. I recommend using an orthotic in them for more cushion.

I am a diabetic and found the toe box a bit narrow & uncomfortable. The sole padding was excellent but the toe area not as much.

It feels comfortable but bigger than regular 8 size so I'm going to try the 7.5 size. Support is just ok.

This has been my standby shoe as I have a hard to fit foot due to surgery. This pair seems to be breaking down faster than the others have though.

These are very substantial shoes - a bit on the heavy side - and should last for a long time. I tried an 8½N. Unfortunately, the design of the toe box was too tapered for me, so I appreciated the opportunity for free shipping both ways. The customer service team has been superb every step of the way (including initial ordering) and made my return process very easy.

These shoes seem to be well made but there is no support in the insert. Also, the 2E is very wide and sloppy. I would advise ordering a width size smaller.

Could have a rounder toe and be deeper! Does not have extra inset. But design is good for my right ankle that tends to pronate.

How can a medium width shoe have a wide width heel?
The rest of the shoe was ideal: good arch support, ample toe area, and sturdy build.

This is a nice shoe. I ordered a 9w but it was too wide in the heel and my heel would slip out when walking. If not for that I would have kept them. A 9M would have been too tight in the toe box for me. Awesome return policy tho, thanks Zappos!

I purchased this shoe for walking to strengthen my legs in preparation for a rather strenuous hike next summer with my athletic daughter-in-law. I have a mild case of MS that has weakened my right leg just enough to throw my balance off a bit from time to time, especially when fatigued. These shoes fill the bill nicely. The wide sole offers extra stability on a variety of walking surfaces, thus aiding my balance. Finding a shoe that accommodates my wide feet is often a challenge. I wear a size 8 W in regular shoes. The size 8 W in this style fits me perfectly while giving my arch the support it needs to avoid a recurrence of plantar fasciitis. They were comfortable from the moment I laced them up...no break-in time. The cons of this shoe are petty personal complaints. I wish they were cuter. But when you are 64 years old with health issues, you just have to suck it up and realize cute is overrated. More color options would be nice, though. I'm not a fan of the thin laces. Just a personal preference. The Propet Stability Walker Medicare/HCPCS Code = A5500 Diabetic Shoe is a comfortable, functional shoe! I expect to enjoy them and the places they will take me!

I liked my first pair so well -after they broke in- that I had to get a second because I don't like getting surprised by clothing/shoe manufacturers that change their sizing too much and end up phasing me out.

I bought this for casual wear and also simply because I needed to jump up to 16 EW. Not many choices up there!
Turns out to be roomy enough, comfortable and good for semi-serious lunch time walks.

I bought these shoes for work because I needed something more supportive. I work a job where I'm on my feet for about 8-9 hours. These shoes are comfortable, but tend to rub the bone on the side of my ankle a little weird. I've gotten used to it, but it's still a downside.

Very well made. No problem adding my orthotics and a lift. Nice narrow fit as I am a AA. I am going to order a second pair a half size longer to allow for a heavy sock and all day foot expansion with the heat here. They are a little snug lengthwise.

I love these shoes. They let me put orthotics in them and I can wear them all day. I do have to put an extra insert in the heal because the back is too high not to rub on my foot otherwise.
