Of note: The "brown" Riva is a very dark brown. It and the burgundy are nearly black. If you want what you might normally think of as a brown shoe, consider the cognac color. At the time of my purchase, Zappos did not carry cognac (and a variety of other colors Florsheim produces), but they might when you read this. Note 2: These shoes probably wear out as you might expect. But if you chose not to wear them and keep them in storage, the sole might disintegrate anyway over time. (I've had three Riva pairs that did this and an identical appearance Bostonian that has as well. In my case it was up to 11 years in storage.) So if you're not going to wear them for a multiple years, you might as well donate them to a charity before they are no longer usable. Otherwise though, these really are great shoes.

These are the second pair I bought. Wore the first ones for ever....sadly they finally gave out. Oh, well. Replacement are same as first ones and those just as good
