Looks and feels like a Maine handsewn. Hard to find those anymore at a reasonable price, especially in my "C" width, so I'm thankful to Florsheim and Zappos for this offshore option. They look promising, and I hope the leather breaks in and holds up as well as my old-timers did. If so, they'd be 5-star for comfort and overall, too.

Decent loafer. Glad I ordered wide. Even with that, they were a touch narrower than I expected. Good value.

After one month of use, good shoe. I owned a pair of these that I had for nearly 20 years, so I have great expectations for these. They do seem a bit stiff, and the leather is thinner than my original shoes, but time will tell.

I bought these for my 13 year old son to attend a wedding. The shoes were great but slipped in the heel just a bit. Hence the 4 stars. While I can't do anything about my son's growing feet he wears 11N already I know I can find narrow shoes at Zappos for the whole family, that's right all 5 of us wear a narrow shoe. It is the only place I can find shoes, love, love, love this company!

Nicely made and comfortable shoe. I ordered 8E and this 8 seems about 1/4 size longer than the Bass slip-on shoes I've had previously. The E felt good in the toe area but was too loose in the heel. I often run into this problem with wide sizes since my heel isn't wide, just the ball of the foot area. Inserting a cushion insole made the fit tolerable but not perfect. The bottom is slick and I'm not sure why they don't layer a bit of traction rubber on the bottom to provide some grip; expense I suppose. In the meantime, it's necessary to walk on the sidewalk a bit to rough up the bottom. Note that the wine color has a darker tone around the seams which is nice but not necessarily apparent in the image.

My feet hurt...
Ordered one pair of loafers. They were too big. Ordered the next size down in a different shoe because the next size down wasn't available in the original shoe. When the next size down arrived they were very tight. I thought I could break them in but haven't had much luck. I struggle with a shoe horn to get them on and they pinch my feet badly.

I ordered two pairs of the Berkley. The black I walked out of. The cordovan fit just fine. I am returning the black hoping it was just an irregularity.

Comfortable shoe.
Comfortable shoe, but company should produce it in black and brown.

I own a pair of Berkley men's loafers and I am very pleased with comfort and style. However I am a bit disappointed that the Berkley doesn't come in brown and black colors. The wine colors are ok but in my profession I wear different colored suits that call for different colored shoes. And I have to go to other brand name shoes to get these colors. I would hope in the near future you would consider other colors so that I can stay with your name brand.

These are very nice shoes and are worth the money but I wish Florsheim did not market these as "Burgundy." I purchased them through a retailer with the expectation that they would have a red oxblood/wine/cordovan/burgundy tone to them as the online pics indicate. These do not have a red tone to them and are really just a dark coffee brown.

Great look and value for the price compared to competitor's penny loafers. One negative, at least for me, is the foot cushion/support cannot be removed in favor of using orthotics. Many Florsheim shoes can, this kne cannot. Also the heel is very, very stiff making it a challenge to break in. Will likely seek a different brand for next pair of loafers.

I really like the look of this shoe but it's extremely uncomfortable. I will not buy it again nor would I recommend it to anyone. My feet start hurting after and hour or two of wearing them. There are other loafers out there that look great and feel great for the same price as these. Keep looking, I promise you wont regret it.

Dress shoes with their stiff leather soles and uppers are not supposed to be comfortable. They are not for hiking, just for looking pretty. These shoes do the latter in spades! I should admit I am hard to fit with old feet, bunions, size 16-4E. I could have returned these shoes with no problem, but I like them and want to keep them for going out to restaurants and parties. They are comfortable enough for that. I will definitely be back for other shoes because Zappos service is unbeatable. Rarely have I had such attentive service in any store online or otherwise. They even Fedexed these to me overnight for free so I could have them in time for a party. I will always check Zappos first when I need new shoes.

Instep on the shoe is way small. The size 3E feels like a D. Style and finish is beautiful.

This shoe is a fine-looking traditional loafer that breaks in nicely. In the past, I have gotten years out of a Florsheim loafer. However, after only a few wearings, this shoe's finish has begun to chip off to unveil a dull, unattractive under-layer, particularly by the stitching. This condition has left me less than satisfied. Zappos customer service has been outstanding in dealing with my concern.

Looks good, but felt really small and tight compared to stated size, and there was a lot of shock in the heel when I stepped.

I would have no other loafer than Florsheim. Going back many years I have found that the quality, look, and comfort cannot be matched by any other that I have tried.

Good looking, but not worth the discomfort -
This is a good looking loafer and well built, but very uncomfortable for me even after several days of break-in time. I purchased 2 pair (black & brown) mainly because they were available in hard to find EEE. However even the EEE is very snug. Overall I am disappointed.

The shoes seemed to be a much tighter cut than the same shoe I bought a few years ago: 10 1/2 EEE, with the same numbers inside the shoe: 17058-05. I could not even get my foot in the shoe, with a shoe horn. I was afraid of tearing the shoe. I might have gained a few pounds in the last few years, but it didn't all go to my feet.

I have worn this style of shoes for many years and have owned dozens of these loafers. Recently the quality of the shoes has declined. The stitching holding the sole to the top of the shoes breaks within weeks. Also, the shoes are not consistently sized between right and left shoe. Very sloppy workmanship.

Nice while new, and good fit. However eventually the burgundy finish wears off on the shoe to reveal cardboard-like under, proving it's poor construction. I enjoyed them while I had them but won't buy again since they didn't last long.

I have a disgustingly narrow foot! And if you do, you know how hard it is these days to find shoes in a shoe store that fit; it seems that everything is EEE or EEEE! I grew up at a time when everybody wore "penny loafers" and I love them! Almost never wear anything else. Florsheim Berkley is the best "penny loafer" I have ever found, and Zappos has them! This is the second pair of Berkleys I have ordered from Zappos. Five Stars for product, quality, price, service, shipping. All my shoes in the future will come from Zappos.
