Cracked Soles. I've had 5 pairs of these shoes and every pair cracked across the ECCO logo -my latest pair after 3 uses! Too bad, because these shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. These shoes cured my plantar fascia problem.

Cracked Soles I bought 2 pairs of these, a $300+ investment. They're very comfortable and look great. You can wear them daily, all day with no foot fatigue. But the sole cracked on both pairs within a year, right across the ECCO logo. This is a full thickness crack, clean through to the insole. ECCO engineers really screwed up the sole on the Cross. They should have omitted the logo so that the sole had uniform thickness. The Seawalker sole is much better. I'm surprised that the Cross has not been pulled from production. -Very common problem.

Very comfortable shoe, lightweight. The sole has been a big problem. Cracked around the Ecco logo at the bottom and at the heal. I have a slight pronation and wear my heals to the inside. The outside separated first, then shreaded. I alternate shoes, and am not hard on them. Very dissapointed with the sole, reputation appears better than the goods.

Watch out for the sole. Folks, this is God's gospel -- I bought a pair of these just a couple years ago. They ARE very comfortable. The problem is, where they printed "Ecco" on the sole... the sole has come apart. It's very thin where they burned their name in to the bottom of the shoe. The material looks like it just disentigrated. I am trying to find their web site to check on returning them as defective. If you saw the inside of the shoe, you would know that I have not worn them much. I might also add that I have had neuroma surgery on one foot and since this shoe is wide, they are extra comfy. I am disappointed though with the sole situation.

Nice looking shoe but the soles feel hard and hurt my feet. They felt fairly good at first but after a couple of weeks the soles got hard and felt as if they had no insoles in them. Also they are kind of flat to begin with. These tried but can't match other big name shoes.

Comfort but NO DURABILITY! This shoe is extremely comfortable, but the soles on mine wore out in about two months of three time a week wear in an office situation. Very disappointed.

Overpriced for the performance - Soles wear out swiftly, even with occasional use. Considering the cost of the shoes, I deem this a huge fault. For a bit more money, you can purchase Mephistos, which deliver comfort & durability.

I bought my Ecco Cross shoes in 1996 for one of those rare occasions when I need to wear a dressier shoe. Recently, I thought I would try them out again. The first sign of trouble was that leaves and dirt stuck to the soles. Then, I tried wiping off the leaves and dirt and the sole started to disintegrate!
