Why Ruin The Best Shoe I ever wore? I purchased a pair of Track Boots in 2000. They were the best shoes I ever wore. Go all day on my feet and they felt great. I can tell you, even at the high $200.00 a pop it was worth it. I puchased a new pair in 2002. They was the Track II. Within a couple weeks, my left heel was super sore. I got to looking at them and they replaced the three soft bumps on the underside of the heel with the word Ecco and they were hard as hell on the heel. I went back and had them replaced with another pair with the three bumps on the heel bottom. Store owner said their store had them made by Ecco just for them. Thought they were like the old pair, But the bumps were not filled with soft stuff. They were fakes, painted black to look like the old style. I wore them three days and the color wore off and the color underneth was the same as the rest of the sole. In over two years of wearing my original pair, the bumps on the heel stayed the same black color. That's how I got to this website looking for the old discontinued ones. I went to Eccos site to see what they said about the track boots and there was no mention they even made them anymore. Maybe they stopping making them altogether. I'm looking for a new pair of the the old track boots like I first had, please email me if you know where I can purchase a pair. djame@montana.com I did not buy these shoes here at Zappos. If Zappos can get me the old ones, I hope they email me. Sore-Footed in Montana

Soft like a glove but sole hurts after 2 hrs. of wearing - Before I bought this boot I have purchased several ecco dress shoes before and they all feel great. I bought this boot in NYC in summer of 2002 because when I tried it on in the store it felt great - just like all my other Ecco shoes - like a glove. I didn't mind to pay $$$ for it , because it felt really great. But I found out later when I actually walked on the street with it for a while that my soles started to hurt. Since they feel actually a whole size larger than marked I tried to add all kinds of insoles but I could still feel the outside profile on my foot. When I bought Dr.Scholls Gel Insoles it made it slighly better- but I still can't wear them for more than 2 hours. Since my other ECCO shoes do not hurt I think this one is just a manufacturing lemon.

The negative with this boot is that the laces tighten themselves tighter and tighter throughout the day, and must be periodically adjusted.

Avoid at all cost. Ecco makes a very nice looking all weather work boot; unfortunately they have a major manufacturing defect. The bottoms are plastic and will break/crack/fall off if the shoes are kept in warm temperature. Customer service is spotty; the stores that sell the shoes are unable to help and corporate customer service does not respond promptly. Buyer beware.

Bought a pair of these for work but they never made it. I thought I would wear them as a casual boot for a few months since I liked the way they looked and they felt clunky so I thought they could also use some breaking in. The soles are where these went out and in only a few months, they got hard as if you were wearing boots with no insoles. I would try something else for your money as these will make your feet hurt unless wearing cheap boots without insoles does not bother you.

I am a long time Mephisto wearer and thought i would try Eccos since they are a little cheaper. These boots turned out to be just another factory boot with a high price. These boots are comparable to wolverine boots which are ok, just not on the same level as high boots that Mephisto makes. These feel like you are wearing space shoes. The bottoms on these seemed to flatting out in about a month which left me feeling every gravel and small rock I stepped on kinda like cheap thin flip flops do.

Top Stitching Comes Loose - This would be an excellent shoe except it fell apart very quickly. The stitching on the top came loose on both shoes within 3 to 4 months. That was really shocking.

Poor Support - These shoes made my feet feel like hamburger meat after wearing them all day on a concret floor. They are over priced and it was hard to get the fit right. I've purchased my last pair, hand sewn or not!

Soles fall off - I strongly recommend that you NOT purchase these boots. My wife and I both purchased these and for both of us the soles fell off the boots. When we went to the local shoemaker he even has a sign in his office indicating that he cannot re-sole Ecco boots!

High priced--low quality! Lousy boots for two hundred dollars! First, the soles are made of poor quality rubber--TPU to be exact--that fall apart and rub down easily like a rubber eraser. Second, the stitches around the toes come apart after a few long walks, or within a few months in some cases, which leads to water leakage. Third, the cushioning sucks, and the replacement insoles cost half, or more, of the price of a decently cushioned sneaker that's on sale. Finally the styling is mediocre and ho-hum, and the shoes are too narrow. In short, I was highly disappointed with this so-called hiker and or casual shoe that command the price that it does.

These are boots for my husband that we have always ordered from Zappos, Ecco is the best and thank goodness they recognize they have a winner and continue with this shoe style instead of obsoleteing it like other manufacters, they seem pricey to my husband but for the quality they are worth it, he likes them so much we always have one new pair as back up, he wears these all day, working land and every hard job he does, it is amazing how tough these boots are, excellent support and Zappos is great along with the Ecco

My husband has plantars fasciitis and these boots have helped him tremendously. His job requires him to be outside and on his feet for most of each day. These are quality boots and worth every penny!! We’ve now purchased a second pair! He says his feet feel so much better!

I bought these ECCO’s for my husband since he already owns low tops and a pair of high tops. Both have started to show the elements wear and tear here from living here in New England. To give you a time frame of how long he has been loyal to these high and low tops my husband has been wearing them even when we were dating. We have been married for almost 17 yrs. Thank you Zappos for selling great quality footwear (and other great items!).

Love these boots. 4th pair (also have had 2 pair of low). 1 pair had problem with sole - zappos helped me get a new pair - you rock! Have worn these boots in Costa Rica for 4 years. Stand up great to daily walking (6 months a year in mud). Rest of year very hot and dusty. Also used them in Minnesota for 3 years - year round. Pair of wool socks and they are fine for daily use in winter (truck driver). They are not for deep snow and -30 -- you have to get winter boots for that. If these don't work for you see a foot doctor. You may have a problem that no boot alone can solve.

Very sturdy boot. I'm always looking for good ankle support, and this cinches in really well when I want that little extra snugness. I gotta ask, though, who laces these things? I have to re-lace them because they don't tighten properly and get all tangled. Doesn't happen with the shoe version of this style, so go figure. I order both these and the shoe version, and they are the only shoes I wear. Yes, whether walking the dog or at work.

I normally don't do reviews but since I find reading them useful, I thought I'd pay it forward! I purchased these boots way in advance for a photography workshop next year and didn't wear them until recently. I was floored at the comfort and aggressive traction they offer right out of the box. No breakin time necessary. In the interest of full disclosure, I did purchase them a half size larger to account for thicker socks and my orthotics but I would likely have been fine at my actual foot size. VERY HAPPY with this purchase! I'm debating on purchasing another pair so I have them whenever these eventually wear out -but I've read from others that it can take quite some time for that to occur ;-)

I've had a pair of these since 2003. I wear them in wintertime and they have performed spectacularly in Minnesota and Colorado winters with slush, snow, ice, grime, and more slush. They're sure-footed and the soles have lasted a long time. They're sturdy, but flexible enough to wear indoors as street shoes/boots. I wasn't impressed with the arch support, but that's relatively easy to fix with a good pair of insoles. Highly recommended!
