I did not buy these from Zappos. I liked the Track II styling and bought them after talking to many friends who had them and loved them. They seemed a bit stiff when I tried them on, but I assumed they would require a little break in like most good shoes do. Unfortunately I ran into a situation after wearing them a few times where the tongue would put an uncomfortable amount of pressure on the top of my foot. I tried tying them loose, tight, and sliding the tongue around as best I could, but after several months the problem has not gone away and I only wear them occasionally now if I know they wont be on my feet for long. I really like their styling and they seem very well constructed, but for me, they just never got comfortable. The heel box also seems a bit wide, which becomes a bigger problem if you cant tie them tightly. If you feel any pressure from the tongue of this shoe, I would suggest passing on these.

Bought the shoes because a previous reviewer commented they decreased his back pain. I broke my back a year ago, it still hurts to walk. The shoe has decreased the intensity of the pain when I walk. Not very good looking. But cosmetics played no role in my decision to buy. It feels good on my feet and my back pain is diminished when I wear them.

Love this shoe but the sizing is way off. Great shoe, very comfortable but order almost 1 full size larger. I would give it 5 stars except for the sizing discrepancy.

Although they tend to be quite heavy due to their dense sole materials, I like Ecco shoes. The Track II is admittedly homely -- maybe even ugly, but I think they will be a comfortable and durable casual shoe over the long haul. I have wide, flat "Donald Duck" feet, and my only real complaint is that these were not available from Zappos in a wide.

Gorgeous shoes but they are cut way too small/narrow. I have the high top version of these in the same size that I bought here (13-13.5) and there is a lot of room inside them. These shoes were very tight on me. As always with Eccos, these are very well made and the material is top notch but they got the sizing wrong with this one. I wore the shoes once and couldn't believe how tight they felt. I emailed Zappos to voice my displeasure and they were great about letting me return the shoes even though I had already worn them once. Thanks, Zappos!

Nice shoe. I wear almost nothing but Ecco shoes. I need a shoe like this one as a work around the house and grounds shoe since Ecco doesn't make an actual work shoe. I can't rate this a 5 star like all my other Eccos because it's a little snug and it's large enough but of all things the laces were too short! I replaced the laces with a longer lace and now all is great.

Good arch support; allow for a smooth gait. A little warm on the feet. Sides of shoe are rather high and hit on my ankle bone (where the fibula, I believe, juts out).

These are excellent shoes, very comfortable and sturdy. They don\'t dress up as well as some, and when the soles wear down, they\'re dead. But they can\'t be beaten for comfort and traction.

The front seems keeps coming lose. I have purchased these shoes for the 5 to 7 years. The seem on every pair goes after 1.5 years. Great show. Be careful the way you take them off. That may cause the problem.

I purchased my second pair of Track II's about a month ago. I really like these shoes and had hoped to buy a pair of black ones but apparently those have been discontinued. The first pair held up well and they were very comfortable but after wearing them in inclement weather for a couple of years they were wearing out. I rated the shoe four starts because the laces are horrible. They will not stay tied. I think if you pay this much for a pair of shoes the shoe laces should stay tied.

This is the most durable shoe Ecco makes. It is comfortable and mostly water proof. It is oil resistant and great for work or walking on or off road.

Ecco Track II -
These were fantastic shoes. I purchased a pair of these shoes in 03. The Ecco Track II was the most comfortable shoe I had ever owned. The soles wore out quickly, so I bought another pair recently. Unfortunately, the newer Tracks are not what they used to be. The soles are much stiffer than and not nearly as comfortable as the previous generation. This was probably done to compensate for the quick wearing, yet ultra comfortable soles of the previous generation. Doc Martens appear to have figured out how to make a soft, yet durable sole. A $200 shoe needs to be all that and a bag of chips and these fall short. Ecco, bring back that original comfort and I will gladly pay $200 for your shoes, until then, I will buy Clarks.

Mildly disappointed -
I have been buying this particular shoe for years (7 pairs) - this is the first time I was ever disappointed. The shoe is noticeably narrower (this has been one of the reasons I like them - they are wide - usually). Still like the look and I have the same complaint as others - the stitching does not hold up as well as in the past - fantastic soles - very good walking "feel."

Really nice but size up -
This is a very well constructed shoe, Gore-Tex a huge plus but Ecco's sizing is unlike any other size 16 I have bought from Zappos in a medium width. This is the second pair I have tried because I love the style and thought it may have been mis-sized at the factory. They are way too narrow from mid foot through the toe area. Great shoe if you are able to size up from your normal size. I would have but not available in a 17.

Winter Business Shoe -
Needed something to wear to work and the driving range during these wet winter months. (quick change to cleats)
What size to pick? My USA 9 (Euro 43), or the Euro 42, (USA 8 - 8.5). While a tool measures my foot out at 9, I'm having better luck with Euro 42.
The shoe is tight at the beginning of the drawstrings, towards the front, where the tongue attaches to the vamp. Just left those strings loose. No problem.
What a great, stylish shoe, which does the job.
Ecco could lose the metal Gore-Tex tag. No one is reading it, and it cluters up a clean, solid leather side panel look. Enough with LOGOs!!
H.S. Trask Grindlewald was a close second!

Great Shoe!
Bar none, these were the best pair of shoes I ever owned. The soles took four years to wear through and the top stitching had to be resewn after three and a half years, but considering that I wore these nearly every day through every kind of weather and work extreme, I'd say they held up very well indeed. How long they last is important, but when you nearly $200 for a pair of shoes, you also hope for a bit of comfort... and I've never owned a pair more comfortable (unless it'd be my other two pairs of Eccos.)

Close to an ideal oxford, but no cigar -
Track II is a padded tongue and full padded collar roll from being perfect. Shoe is good as is, but why the collar roll does not contiune across the heel cup is a mystery to me. Causes the heel to slip when walking. Shoe is water tight and stylish, but needs those couple of features to be ideal. Shoe manufactures should just call me - I've worn out so many pairs in my life, I know my shoes! This one isn't bad, but could be so much better--especially at this price.

Could have been great except for one thing -
I have the same problem which most people who bought this shoes had - it hurts the top of the feet. Apart from that, it fits well and and looks good.

Great shoe -
I have had this shoe almost 3 yrs, I work construction and I was concered about the expense of the shoe and durabilty at first. I have been in and out of water so much with this shoe I feel as if I could swim in it and it would still keep my feet dry. That is good for me since I catch althletes foot really easy. However the shoe has been put through hard task with me it is starting to fail in cofortability and the seams the run along the front edge have been failing. I am cosidering buying a new pair. Cost is one isuue and I am still in question, on overall duribility for the long haul. I would expect a shoe of this cost to last me 5 yrs I would settle for 3to 4 good ones but I have only had this shoe 2.5 yrs and it has broke down.

Best for comfort, but not wear -
Bought my pair in 1999. Have knee problem, and these are easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I can walk forever without fatigue in these shoes. I wear them everyday, even jog in them. Recommend buying an extra pair of Ecco insoles. When you take the shoes off pop out the insoles. Insert the fresh pair next morning and the shoes stay fresh, even when worn daily. I agree that there are wear issues with this shoe, particularly given the $200 price tag. The toe stitching in mine started unraveling about 18 to 24 months ago. The soles have cracks through them which started 6-9 months ago. Still servicable, but water will leak through the soles. The new models seem to have a lighter colored composite material in the sole. Part of what I value in my pair is the sponginess in the sole that disipates the shock of your foot-falls. Hope that hasn't changed. I would prefer the wear and tear problems than to loose this performance feature. However, the stitching problem just should not happen. Overall, this is still a very good shoe.

The right shoe was very uncomfortably tight on the top of my foot where the tongue meets the upper. I had to exchange for a different shoe. Since isolated to one side I think it must have been a quality vs design issue.

I bought this shoes because of the great reviews it got saying how comfortable it was. I had it for a while now and I am very dissatisfied with the comfort level of this shoes. Its not worth half the price. I work 12 hour shifts on my feet and I had expected a better shoes but it's not living up to my standards of comfort. must say very rugged but comfort sucks. sorry!
